Chapter 50 - Ji Lin’s Skill and the Storm of Strikes

Chapter 50: Ji Lin's Skill and the Storm of Strikes

Ignoring the pain, Wang Dong kicked with her other leg, but Ji Lin stepped forward and stomped forcefully on her raised leg, completely stopping her movement.

He then twisted his body and drove his other elbow straight into her ribs. Wang Dong bent over from the intense pain and staggered sideways, but Ji Lin seized the opportunity to advance another step in his attack.

Clenching his right fist tightly, he aimed a direct punch at Wang Dong's chest.

Boom!

Wang Dong was violently knocked backward, while Ji Lin slowly withdrew his fist, savoring the impact of the strike.

He looked at her with a mocking smile:

"Boy, your chest muscles aren't just overdeveloped… they're smooth too. Care to tell me how you trained them?"

"You scoundrel!" Wang Dong's anger surged to its peak, her fury boiling as she realized she had just been struck twice in succession, pain spreading sharply across her chest. She thought bitterly: Am I… injured? No, I'll check later.

Seeing what had happened, Huo Yuhao's voice rang out sharply:

"Brother Tian Meng, this… I can't take it!"

"Ah, young Yuhao—"

But before Tian Meng could finish, Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong had already launched themselves in perfect synchronization — Wang Dong leading, Huo Yuhao following closely behind.

Huo Yuhao raised his arms, revealing two black metallic pieces that wrapped around his forearms like guards. With a flex of his muscles, the upper sections opened, exposing three small tubes on each side.

This device, which looked like a spiritual launch tool, was Huo Yuhao's own invention — a small self-stabilizing spiritual bow.

Today, he did not intend to use it for trickery… but to confront Ji Lin head-on.

Fury blazed in Wang Dong's eyes. She couldn't bear to see Huo Yuhao humiliated like this — she had to avenge him, no matter the cost.

She lashed out with a flurry of kicks, her long legs snapping through the air like steel whips. Ji Lin repeatedly raised his arms to block, yet his feet never budged an inch.

After regaining his balance, Huo Yuhao felt the sting of his cheek. His heart burned with anger, filled with relentless resentment.

Facing Wang Dong's rapid kicks, Ji Lin raised his elbow and struck her leg directly, sending her crashing down with force. Wang Dong grimaced, pain radiating through her leg, barely able to move it.

Ignoring the pain, she kicked with her other leg, but Ji Lin stepped forward and stomped hard on her raised leg, immobilizing her completely.

He twisted his body, driving his other elbow into her ribs. Wang Dong bent in agony and stepped sideways, but Ji Lin advanced another step, seizing the opportunity.

Clenching his right fist, he delivered a direct punch to her chest.

Boom!

Wang Dong was flung violently backward as Ji Lin slowly withdrew his fist, relishing the strike's impact.

He looked at her with a teasing, sideways smile:

"Boy, your chest muscles aren't just overdeveloped… they're smooth too. Care to tell me how you trained them?"

"You scoundrel!" Wang Dong shouted, rage boiling over.

Wang Dong's fury had reached its peak. Ji Lin had struck her chest twice in quick succession, sharp pain radiating through her body. She thought bitterly: Am I… injured? No, I'll have to check later.

Seeing what happened, Huo Yuhao's voice rang sharply:

"Brother Tian Meng, this… I can't take it!"

"Ah, young Yuhao—"

But before Tian Meng could finish, Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong had already moved in perfect sync — Wang Dong leading, Huo Yuhao following a step behind.

Huo Yuhao raised his arms, revealing two black metallic pieces that wrapped around his forearms like guards. With a flex of his muscles, the upper sections opened, exposing three small tubes on each side.

This device, which resembled a spiritual launcher, was Huo Yuhao's own invention — a small self-stabilizing spiritual bow.

Today, he did not intend to use it for trickery… but to confront Ji Lin head-on.

Wang Dong lunged forward with rapid steps, her leg snapping out in a whip-like kick aimed at Ji Lin's face.

Ji Lin stepped back once and bent his body as far as possible, letting her kick whistle past him through the air.

But Wang Dong's attack didn't stop; she twisted her body and raised the other leg high like a battle axe, swinging it down with full force toward Ji Lin.

A cutting wind sliced past his ears as Ji Lin crossed his arms firmly in front of his chest.

Boom!

Wang Dong's leg slammed onto his crossed arms. Her knees bent slightly from the impact, but Ji Lin held the strike solidly.

In the blink of an eye, Huo Yuhao appeared beside Wang Dong, extending his arms. Six white threads of lightning streaked through the air with a harsh crackling sound.

Through his Sharingan, Ji Lin quickly realized that these threads were not spiritual beams but six arrows of polished steel.

Using metal against me? he thought sarcastically. I don't know whether to call this childish or ignorant.

A red glow flared in his eyes as he focused on the flying arrows — then he activated his Vibrating Jaw ability.

The arrows, which had appeared as a mist for a moment, caused the surrounding void to shatter suddenly, as if the air itself had cracked like glass.

Huo Yuhao stared in shock, unable to comprehend the ability this boy had just used — to make the surrounding void shatter like glass? Incredible.

Even though the miniature spiritual bow was Huo Yuhao's own invention — a hybrid weapon, half physical and half spiritual, capable of piercing a Level 2 Spirit Shield — this boy had simply swiped the air, and the arrows were destroyed. Truly bizarre.

While Huo Yuhao was stunned, Ji Lin pushed forward with his arms. Wang Dong's body flipped backward and landed lightly on her feet.

"Huo Yuhao!" Wang Dong shouted.

Her voice snapped Huo Yuhao back to awareness. He saw Ji Lin standing right in front of him.

Though the distraction had lasted barely a moment, Ji Lin had reached him effortlessly.

Why is he so fast?

Slap!

A clear whistling sound was heard — a fierce, merciless slap from Ji Lin across Huo Yuhao's face, and his body was sent flying backward once more.

His cheeks bore two symmetrical red handprints.

Wang Dong caught Huo Yuhao in midair; her eyes filled with pain when she saw his swollen cheek.

Ji Lin smiled, waving his hand in satisfaction, and remarked, "Ha! Isn't that better? A mark on each side — perfectly organized."

"Ah… I told you to hold back, but you wouldn't listen. Look now — you've earned a new mark." Tian Meng, the Ice Worm, murmured.

The Ice Empress tapped his head with her claw and said, "Enough teasing."

Then, in a calm but firm tone, she addressed Huo Yuhao: "Yuhao, sometimes endurance is not weakness. Remember, patience is not cowardice."

"I understand, Ice Empress." Huo Yuhao replied, stifling his anger.

Ji Lin strode forward, passing by Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong as if they were nothing.

After a few steps he stopped, turned with a mocking glance at Huo Yuhao, and said, "You're that boy who displayed six hundred-thousand-year spirit rings in the preliminaries, aren't you?"

Huo Yuhao didn't answer — he only looked at him coldly.

Someone like you? With six rings, each a hundred thousand years old? Why don't you just fly up to the sky and hug the sun as well?" Ji Lin said mockingly.

He snorted in contempt. "Trash. Having rings like those in your body is an insult to them."

Huo Yuhao clenched his hands so hard his veins stood out, anger burning in his chest.

Then — whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! — the six arrows that had hung suspended in the air suddenly shot forward, whizzed past his ears, and buried themselves into the wall with force.

Ji Lin laughed coldly and mockingly: "Pray. Pray that you don't run into me in the arena. Otherwise I'll beat you so badly even your mother won't recognize you."

He then turned and walked away.

"You'll see…."
