Chapter 6 – Unspoken Claim

The following week felt like a blur. Tiara tried to convince herself that the kiss in the lecture room was nothing. Just a stupid mistake. Just Ken being his usual cocky self.

But every time she closed her eyes, she felt his lips again—rough, urgent, like he was staking a claim she never gave him.

"Why am I even thinking about this?" she muttered under her breath as she arranged her notes.

Of course, fate had other plans. She bumped into Ken at the cafeteria. He leaned lazily against the counter, grinning when he spotted her. That grin that made other girls giggle but always managed to set her nerves on fire. She was always angry when other girls giggles at anything he does or says.

"Tiara," he drawled, as if her name was his favorite song. "Avoiding me?"

She glared at him. "Don't flatter yourself."

Ken chuckled and moved closer, invading her space without a care. The scent of his cologne was maddening. "Funny how You've been on my mind." That kiss was one of a kind, I must admit. Your soft lips, everything.

Her heart betrayed her with a sharp skip, but she kept her face stone cold. "Well, you're not on my mind, it's just a kiss Ken."

"Liar," he whispered, leaning so close his breath brushed her ear.

Tiara's fingers curled into fists. She wanted to slap that smug look off his face, but instead, she found herself rooted to the spot, body betraying her again.

Before she could respond, one of Ken's friends walked up, greeting him with a clap on the shoulder. The spell broke. Tiara grabbed her tray and stormed off, furious at herself for almost melting again.

Who does this boy think he is, she said looking back.

Ken's smirk only widened. She could run all she wanted..he wasn't planning on letting her go.
