Chapter 13 - Chapter 11: Go Insane

Quyan cleared his throat and announced, "Alright, may the meeting begin. Montell, you mentioned the Ring of Flame was stolen by Zellereve?"

"Yes," Montell replied, "he outsmarted us this time."

"Outsmart? More like a gamble." Layven scoffed, "He didn't even know how much aura he needed to let out to make us detect him."

"Um, sorry to interrupt but, is losing just one ring a huge problem? Aren't you pretty strong?" Lucia raised her hand and asked.

"Every ring's power combined together is equal to the power of God himself and Zellereve , one ring less and Zellereve gains the advantage." Montell explained.

"And he is almost done healing from the fight with God," Seycole added, "We need to retrieve it before he transforms back into his prime."

"Oh, is that right?"

Suddenly, a sinister voice echoed through the room, and a giant shadow appeared on the wall, it was Zellereve.

Everyone jumped back and pulled out their weapons. Montell his water bow, Seycole her vines, Layven his tornado sword, Quyan his large pearl rings and Lucia her dagger.

"Zellereve!" Quyan yelled, "Heaven restricts your presence, how are you here?!"

"Oh, right now I'm merely just a shadow, since I don't mean any harm here." he said confidently, "I'm here to return a borrowed item."

The Ring of Flame flew out from the shadow and landed on the council table. The God of Natures were confused.

"You're right, I'm almost heal, why do these insignificant actions to weaken your force? Am I not the weak one then? thanks for enlightening me." the shadow bowed sarcastically, then it disappeared.

"…so that was Zellereve?" Kallyne asked, "he's creepy."

Fynnis walked towards the table and picked up the ring. Staring at it and struggling to decide what he should do with it.

Montell absorbed his weapon back to his body and walked to Fynnis's side.

"Well, we are lucky Zellereve is overconfident in his powers, now you have the ring, Fynnis."

Seeing Fynnis struggling, Montell sighed, "Fynnis, I know you are unsure of your worth, but this is the moment for you to choose. Will you wear the ring, or will you give it to another person?"

Fynnis stared at the ring and for a moment, he was unable to swallow his saliva. After spending a long time in his thoughts, he turned to see everyone, then at Lucia, whose legs were shaking.

"One ring less means our doom, right?" he said, then he lifted the ring and put it on his head, making his hair and jacket alter into scorching flames.

"Then I'll fulfil my duty until Zellereve is gone for good."

Behind him, the flame on his seat roared and grew even more enormous.

The gods stood there, some shocked, some impressed. Kallyne gasped in excitement, and Lucia very firmly made eye contact with Fynnis, giving him a nod of respect.

Quyan smirked, "Alright then, let's start your training!"

"Wha-what training?! No one mentioned any training?" Fynnis exclaimed.

"Of course! You must learn to adapt to your powerful body before you become a full fledged God of Flame! We Gods of Nature will teach you what we are best in! C'mon!" Quyan laughed and dragged Fynnis down the stairs as the other gods followed behind.

"You'll be fun to play with!" Layven chuckled.

"Don't expect us to go soft on you." Seycole said strictly.

"This is your life now as a god, try to get used to it." Montell said.

"But this is too sudden! I'm not ready!" Fynnis cried.

The gods left, leaving Lucia and Kallyne at the council table.

"Good luck, Fynnis!" Kallyne cheered.

"Just when I thought he changed, he's still the same awkward coward." Lucia sighed, smiling.

Fynnis's training started, his first lesson was with the God of Plant——Seycole Nelleson. The rest of the gods watched beside the room.

"I'll be training your agility. Be prepared." Seycole stood elegantly, like she wasn't even getting ready for a fight.

"Get him, Flower Queen!" Layven whooped.

Fynnis relaxed his body nervously, "Alright so I just have to dodge obstacles swiftly? I don't see anything to-"

"Begin." Seycole snapped her fingers and vines with razor sharp spikes burst out from the ground, charging at Fynnis.

"WAIT STOP-"

A large crash echoed through all of Heaven, and Fynnis was down.

"I told you to be prepared, you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?" Seycole sighed in disappointment.

"Are you insane?! How am I suppose to dodge that?! And at that speed! Oh-I think I hear my bones crack…ow…" Fynnis got up and yelled at her angrily.

Seycole scoffed irritatedly, "Of course, I forgot, you still think like a human."

Fynnis stared at Seycole confusedly, "Wha-huh?"

"You are already a god, yet you believe dodging my attacks and moving at a great speed is impossible. Your human mindset is refusing to push yourself forward because that isn't something a human can do." she explained.

"In other words, you're a god, so act like it!" Quyan shouted.

"Hey! I was gonna say that!" Layven lightly slapped his shoulder.

"Well too bad." Quyan teased.

"So just think like a god, right? I don't really get how I can do that, since my human mindset will most likely stop me by instinct…" Fynnis looked down at his palms.

"It's simple. Remove any restrictions and go insane. Round two, begin." Seycole immediately charged hundreds of vines towards him without letting him think.

"Let's see what you've learnt." she thought.

As the vines charged towards him, Fynnis stared at his palms, "Go insane…" he gripped his palms.

With a big leap, Fynnis jumped into the air.

"AH! I'M IN THE AIR!!" Fynnis yelled in shock.

"Remove any restrictions and go insane."

Fynnis shook his head and opened his eyes wide, staring dead at the vines. Suddenly, the vines felt slow, really slow. Then he realised.

"Opening…opening….another opening…" Fynnis smirked, "There was so many openings all along!"

In a blink of an eye, Fynnis dived headfirst, slipping through the space in between the vines and charging at Seycole like a missile.

Suddenly, Seycole created more vines towards attack him. But Fynnis dodged them swiftly, and he pinned Seycole onto the floor.

He panted, then he smiled, "How's that?"

Seycole showed a faint smile, "Not bad, but I don't recall telling you to pin me at the ground, now my dress is dirty."

Fynnis immediately let go of her and apologised, "Oh! Sorry…"

"Dude what was that?!" Layven stood up and exclaimed, then he strolled towards Fynnis, "You're too good to be newbie! Quyan, can we just have him qualified right now?!"

Quyan smiled lightly, then wagged his finger at him, showing disagreement.

"Oh c'mon! This kid's a natural!" when Layven turned back to see Fynnis, he already collapsed on the floor.

"I…still need to get…used to this…" Fynnis murmured.

Montell walked over and squat down beside Fynnis, "You still got a long way to go. Do your best, Fynnis Corretson."

"Ugh…yes sir…"
