The room on the other side was—
Bruce's first thought was that it was a library.
His second was that it was a workshop.
His third was that it was both and neither, and that the categories he was trying to apply simply did not fit.
The space opened up considerably beyond the narrow doorway. The ceiling rose higher than that of the entry hall, and the walls, also made of soul-wood, were lined with shelves of varying heights. They held books, small objects, bundles of bound soul-paper, and a few things Bruce couldn't immediately identify.
A long, low table occupied the center of the room, with cushions arranged around it. Two tall windows in the far wall admitted the pale afternoon light, illuminating several small plants on their sills. Plants were something Bruce had yet to encounter elsewhere in the Soul Realm. These were pale and translucent, their delicate forms emitting a faint, ethereal glow.
A small side table stood nearby, bearing a tea set.
And there was Grave Ondar.
