Chapter 8 - The Reveal(End)

"They are the Dawn family, Morales family, Saccharo family, Ainsworth family, Talon family, and Wist family."

At the mention of the Morales family, Leo's mind drifted away almost instantly. He thought of her—the blue-haired girl who seemed almost too perfect to be human, with curves in all the right places and a beauty that felt like a gift from heaven to the mortal world. Nobody else seemed to notice her the way he did, as if she revealed a side of herself meant only for his eyes.

Unfortunately, his bold attempt to confess his feelings once had ended in rejection. It had stung deeply at the time, but fate had pulled them back into each other's orbit. Against all odds, they had become close friends afterward—so close that sometimes he wondered if her rejection had been more about timing than about him.

Still, the thought of her lingered like an itch in his heart, one that refused to fade no matter how hard he tried.

Samuel's tone grew firm again, pulling Leo out of his thoughts.

"Tomorrow, you'll be heading to the Academy. It was established by the Legacy Families themselves to guide the youth—teach them what to do with their systems and abilities. Think of it as training for what's coming. You'll meet others like you there."

Leo left the room with a mix of nerves and anticipation. The Academy… it sounded exciting, but also intimidating.

Later that night, lying in his bed, he stared at the faint glow of his panel hanging before him. Doubts swirled in his mind—about the Legacy Families, about the Academy, about himself.

That was when the system's voice echoed softly in his head, calm and reassuring:

[Do not worry, Leo. Step by step, everything will become clear to you. Slowly, you will understand.]

For the first time that day, a small smile tugged at his lips. With that gentle promise lingering in his ears, he finally let sleep claim him.
