Aiden stood at the front door and didn't go in right away. Instead, he kept sniffing himself, checking whether there was any unfamiliar perfume scent on him.
He didn't know why Julia had suddenly called him home, but it was unlikely to be anything good.
Before he could push the door open, it swung open from the inside.
Julia stood in front of him, staring coldly. "I thought you weren't coming home tonight. So you still remember you have a home."
Aiden immediately forced a smile. "Honey, if I didn't come back, where else could I go?"
"Didn't you say there was so much going on at the company that you couldn't leave no matter what? Then how did you manage to leave today? Looks like I really need to start thinking carefully about whether what you usually say is true or not."
Aiden was startled. Normally, Julia never questioned him like this. It was already late, yet she had called him back—why?
He asked cautiously, "Honey… are you in a bad mood?"
