Chapter 13 - Chapter 12 rumors spread like white fire

The class ended, and it was time for a break. The F-class student who had low talent walked with their head held high, and the intimidation they had always felt from the highly talented individuals was a distant memory.

The cafeteria came alive with gossip.

"Really, a D-class talent defeated an A-class talent," a student of another class said, with disbelief.

"I'm dead ass," a student of F class said narrating the story, "he was like bam, bam." his body was displaying moves that were not even close to what Kurogami did.

"Well, I'm not surprised, he is an F class student, no wonder he lost to Kurogami, both of them are still losers either way." An arrogant noble from another class said.

Gossip about the battle spreads quickly, soon reaching the ears of Selene, Kael, Lieji, and Kanji.

"Wow, an A-class talent has been defeated by a D-class talent, with the use of Khaos energy," Kael said, looking shocked and in disbelief.

Kanji was in a more relaxed position, putting his legs in the chair. He didn't seem to care about the rumors: "Having talent doesn't necessarily mean you have a battle talent."

That's the thing, Ryu is no weak for when it comes to battling experience," Lieji said

Kenji turned his gaze around, looking at Lieji. "What makes you say that?"

Ryu almost defeated Raiden in an underground fight club. They say Raigan uses his family secret technique to win. No doubt Ryu is strong."

Kenji was quiet, saying nothing. He just closed his eyes and stayed relaxed. Selene was with them in the cafeteria, and while eating lunch, she heard what they said but didn't say a thing.

"Everyone is focusing on the fact that a D-ranked talent defeated an A-ranked talent. They failed to look at one key part of that battle, Kurogami, as one of the 12 heavenly physics." Lieji said with a smile.

As she said this. They all gazed at Lieji.

"12 heavenly physic, that explains this," Kanji said with a smile. He had already started having thoughts of battling Kurogami.

"Tho D rank talent, his capability exceeds that," Selene said are gentle face, slightly letting out a smile.

Far away from Selene and are crew, the other clan heir where further away from them and all sat together.

D-class talent defeating an A-class talent," Riku murmured to himself.

He gazed at Raiden and asked.

"How strong is Ryu?"

Raiden, who was sitting opposite, made eye contact with Riku.

"He was a strong Opponent back in the day. It's been six months since, probably as gotten weaker,"

"Hmm, even now, can you defeat him in just thirty seconds?" Riku asked.

Raiden didn't say a thing; his silence told Riku even he could beat Ryu in less than 30 seconds. This feeling made Raiden slightly angry. In the Stormfang clan, this is not acceptable.

Riku threw his head backward, closing his eyes and looking at the ceiling.

"Kurogami, are you going to be an ally or an enemy?" Riku thought to himself.

Up on the school rooftop, Ryu, Kaia, and Shin stood in their usual spot. Ryu was staring down, and his two friends couldn't help to look at him.

"How strong his he?" Kaia asked

"I have felt Selene, Kenji, and the other six clan heirs' aura; none of them match this feeling of death I felt from him," Ryu said, raising his head from the ground. He looked at both his friends. The next word he said made both Kaia and Shin look at themself.

"I'm following him."

They both understood what that word means.

Both the heirs and Ryu gangs started searching for kurogami and Daichi at launch time, but none of them succeeded. He couldn't be found in his room or anywhere. This was even more strange because from Monday to Friday, all students are not permitted to leave the school, so where could they both be?

It was the end of break time, and they all went to the next class, the cultivation class; this class was general for each class. The class structure was like a pizza slice, the A class in the first batch, then followed by B, then C, to E.

Just to enable the student to see from behind each class batch, the cultivation chair was high.

Everyone sat on their respective site, passing through different doors. They all sat completely and still; there was no sign of Daichi and Kurogami. After the class got a quite young male instructor was about to start his class when two young individuals entered.

Seeing them, he smiled, showing the sign of familiarity with the two; these two had been mischievous in all classes, but for some reason, they became less troublesome in his. He concluded that these two were addicted to cultivating.

Kurogami was about to come up with an excuse before the teacher stopped him.

"I don't want to even hear it, just sit," the teacher said.

Hearing that Kurogami smiled, happy he won't get scolded for coming in late, the two started moving up.

As Kurogami moved, he could see the gaze of all the heirs, others either murmuring, pointing fingers at him. Some smiled and looked at him with admiration; others were displeased to see him.

In the world, when one makes a great achievement, the is always an equal gaze of admiration and envy, and even hate.

Kurogami wasn't even phased by this gaze; they felt unbothered and just moved along with us friends.

Soon, they sat, and the class began.

Instructor Zephyrion stood before the class, arms folded.

"Listen up, young Sentinels, we all know the most important thing for a sentimental is his core, every core is different, just like every constituent is different, to understand turnover means you have to understand your core."

He drew a glowing circle near his navel.

"The Khaos Core is the center of your abdomen. It stores energy and recovers energy. The more refined it is, the slower your chaos replenishes, but it's stronger."

He paced slowly.

"Your path has five main stages: Foundation, Awakening, Refinement, Expansion, and Ascension."

"In each of these stages, there are small levels., For example majority of you are in the foundation stage. There are four levels in its initial stage, the middle stage, the upper stage, and the Ascendant. stage

He raised a small crystal between his fingers, dark violet, pulsing faintly.

"This is a Chaos Crystal. Raw, unstable, deadly if used directly. So we purify it. After hundreds of refinements, it turns from purple to light blue. That's when it becomes safe, what we call a khaos Crystal. It helps your core recover chaos energy faster by absorbing the essence in it." Instructor Zephyrion

He looked over the class one last time.

"Remember, your core isn't your strength, it's your limit. Train it, protect it, and one day, maybe, you'll break past it."

"Any question?" Instructor Zephyrion said with a smile.

A commoner stood up with a curious gaze,

"Instructor Zephyrion, how can we tell the difference between the smaller realms?"

"That's a good question,"

For the foundation's initial stage, the essence is called faint essence; it has a copper-colored essence, unstable flow.

For you to develop the next level, you have to pour this essence into your core shell to enhance and make it stronger. Once the light brown wall becomes stronger, it will then start producing Dim essence, which is a darker bronze hue, stronger, and thicker, that would be a sign that you are now in the middle stage."

"One percent of Dim essence is like ten percent of faint essence, the distance between these two sub-realms is like a baby and a grown man, and while the distance between major realms is like heaven and earth," the instructor said.

Another student stood up and asked.

"Would cultivating be faster if someone in a higher realm transferred Khaos to someone in a lower realm?" this student with a curious expression asked.

Instructor Zephyrion was surprised he didn't expect this question was asked; he looked at the student, just a glance, and he could tell he was a commoner.

He sighed in his heart, "Only a commoner would ask such a question, always desperate for ways to grow stronger because of limited resources."

"The noble children never ask this; they're handed everything, resources, refined chaos crystals, and the best cultivation tech money can buy. Cultivation isn't easy. To advance, one needs truckloads of chaos crystals, techniques that match their core type, and other essentials, manuals, beast cores, and weapons, all of which cost a fortune. Nobles have their family techniques and endless resources to stay ahead."

Instructor Zephyrion's face showed subtle displeasure as he thought about it. The hierarchy humanity built for itself always left a sour taste. He had once been like this boy, no family, no background, just determination and the will to climb. Becoming an instructor in Sentinel Academy was no easy feat, and he knew better than anyone how brutal that path could be.

"I see where you're going with that, but it's not possible, it simply can't be done," Instructor Zephyrion said, his tone firm yet calm. "Everyone's body is unique. Trying to absorb the essence of someone in a higher realm is no different from poisoning yourself. Your core won't be able to handle that level of energy; it'll become a burden, not a gift."

He walked slowly across the front of the class, hands behind his back. "And even if, by some miracle, you survive the process, breaking into a higher realm with that many impurities in your body will cripple you. Your core will lose its ability to replenish khaos energy naturally. In the end, you won't just halt your cultivation, you'll destroy your core entirely."

"Just have this ingrained in your mind, trying that method is like using a glass cup to carry a river."

Hearing this, the student sat down. He looked disappointed and put his head down; his talent was rank D.

More students started asking more questions, and instructor Zephyrion answered happily.

Kurogami sat down, legs crossed. His mind was already deep in his core. His body was like a green spirit; his legs weren't formed, but his hands were. He looked down on his aperture; there was only ten percent.
