Chapter 4 - THE END DRAGON "SILVER"

After an hour since John's meeting with William, he and the team of Awakeners set off toward the End Dragon.John's plan was to fight the End Dragon alone, while the Awakeners battled its Minions. Naturally, the dragon's Minions were also dragons, but they weren't nearly as powerful as the End Dragon. Most of them were comparable to A-rank Awakeners, level 100 to 150—monsters truly worthy of being part of a world-class disaster.

John had already known the End Dragon's location the moment he first arrived here, but he had taken some time to prepare the other Awakeners, so they could save as many surviving humans as possible.

"I'll see you all soon. Don't die, we are humanity's hope!" John declared as he flew into the air, flying toward the End Dragon.

"Do you think he can really kill the End Dragon?" one of the S-rank Awakener asked William.

"I don't know… but the skills he's shown are more than enough to prove he's the strongest Awakener in the world!" William replied.

in the ruins of the city stood a colossal black dragon, enormous like a mountain. Its scales were pitch-black, giving the impression they were unbreakable. Around it burned flames unlike any natural fire—flames of pure black. He was none other than the End Dragon, Silver.

"You really do seem different from the other monsters," John said, as his eyes locked onto the level displayed above the dragon's head: Level 600.

"Do you dare compare me to the rest of the monsters, little ant?"

"What?! You can speak like a human?" John was taken aback.

"I can speak every language on this planet, little ant. Dragons are the wisest creatures in this universe," Silver answered arrogantly.

"Speaking or not, it doesn't matter. Your end will be in my hand."

Silver gazed at him as if a mere ant had spoken. "You have some courage… or is it just recklessness? I'll find out soon enough." The dragon summoned one of his aides to fight John.

A white dragon with piercing blue eyes appeared, sending chills down anyone who looked at him. This was the Ice Dragon, Zaglith. Silver only had two aides: Zaglith with level 450, and the Wind Dragon Orowyn with level 500.

"Sending your aides first? Fine, that'll give me time to warm up." John smirked, as a wicked grin spreading across his face.

He shot into the sky, activating flight skill LV-MAX, and immediately attacked with a massive spear of iron. John had mastered weapon creation through elemental magic, knowing ordinary weapons could never scratch the skin of world-class monsters.

Zaglith countered with a breath of freezing flames, stopping the spear mid-air.

But John was ready. To prepare for fighting disaster monsters, he had gathered vast amounts of knowledge on dragons, their elements, strengths, and weaknesses.

The elemental cycle of magic weaknesses formed a circle:

Fire > Ice > Wind > Earth > Lightning > Water > Fire

Darkness <> Light (victory decided by strength).

Dragons by nature were fire-based creatures, Zaglith was an ice-element dragon. If John attacked with fire, the effect would be limited by the dragon's innate resistance. Water magic would also be weak because of ice element. That left him with only one choice.

Snapping his fingers, John aimed at Zaglith. "Dual-Element Magic: Fire Rain."

The sky turned pitch-black, and rain began to fall—not water, but droplets of fire. Not lava, but a completely new kind of water.

"What is this?!" Zaglith muttered in confusion, but at that moment his scales already began to burn. "What?!" He instantly cast a defensive spell.

"You think I'll let you do this?" John activated LV-MAX Power Enhancement, Lightning Speed, and Defensive Magic to protect himself from the rain. He smashed his fist against Zaglith's shield, shattering it within moments, and his punch connected with the dragon's chest. Scales cracked, and blood burst from Zaglith's mouth.

"How can a human possess such strength?! Your body can't even withstand that power!" Zaglith roared as John's arm was torn apart from the force of the blow.

"That's not such a big problem." Even as he spoke, his arm regenerated instantly, healed by his Regeneration skill and his No Pain Sense skill.

"This human… he might actually be interesting. Orowyn, go support Zaglith." Silver commanded.

"As you wish, My Lord." Orowyn immediately took flight toward Zaglith.

"Storm Magic!" Orowyn cast, dispersing the fire rain cloud with a single spell.

"Looks like you're in trouble, Silver—sending another of your pets," John mocked.

"Insolent worm! You're not even worthy of gazing at My Lord!" Orowyn roared back.

"You'll be worthy to face me only if you manage to kill Orowyn and Zaglith," Silver said calmly, as if they weren't even his subordinates.

John now found himself in a dire situation—forced to battle two disaster-class dragons at once, while Silver hadn't even moved. Worse still, Orowyn nullified the weakness John had exploited in Zaglith.

Wind was strong against earth and weak against ice, but the dual fire rain had been neutralized by Orowyn's storm magic.

Of course, elemental weakness wasn't always absolute. If an S-rank fire mage fought a C-rank water mage, the fire would still win. Dragons, however, were the strongest magic creatures. The fact that John was matching them in their own domain proved his strength to Silver.

"It seems I'll have to use that move…" John raised three fingers, preparing his next technique.
