Chapter 41 - Chapter 41

Kemran's POV

I stood by the window, staring outside. Yesterday had been a total disaster damn it, we broke off the alliance because there was no trust at all. Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around me from behind.

Evera : It was an amazing night, as always.

Kemran : Get dressed and leave, we still have classes today.

Evera : Thanks for last night, baby.

She kissed my cheek and put her clothes back on. Last night had been pure chaos, I became the brutal Kemran again. When I was with Athènia or Naynah, I had turned soft, but last night, the old Kemran was reborn.

I went into my bathroom and took a shower. Only now did I realize how much of a gentleman I had become with those two beauties. If my father ever found out that I had made an alliance with our enemies or worse, that I slept with them it would be fatal. Damn.

After spending a long time in the shower, I stepped out wrapped in a towel. I picked out my black clothes and brushed my hair, tying it back into a ponytail with a loose strand falling across my face. I looked like a drug lord.

As I walked toward the door, I noticed Naynah stepping out of her apartment. Our eyes met, and her red eyes told me she hadn't slept well. She quickly looked away and entered the elevator. I rushed down the stairs at full speed. By the time I reached the ground floor, I slowed my pace, walking through the hall.

I needed time to think to plan revenge, to destroy them. What, did you think I'd just accept that they killed someone with vampire blood? No way. I was going to kill Athènia. Our people are important, no matter if they are hybrids or not. That boy had vampire blood. And Naynah… I'd kill her because her ancestor was a first class bastard.

I finally arrived at the university and walked in, already in a bad mood. The first thing I saw was Naynah, gazing at some guy with affection the same look she gave me when she first realized I was her mate. How the hell did she arrive before me? Whatever. I ignored it, walked past her, and entered my classroom.

Evera was already sitting next to my seat. When she saw me, she gave me a big smile. I walked toward her and sat down. Everyone probably noticed I was back with Evera.

Evera : Good morning, darling.

Kemran : Morning.

I answered coldly, as usual. The bell rang, and students started to arrive. Naynah or should I say the Alpha walked in, looking lost in thought. She sat in her usual seat, alone. Not my problem.

The idiot professor came in and started talking. Seriously, couldn't my father have picked something better than business management? After hours of listening to that fool, we finally had the honor of eating in the cafeteria.

Since I got here, I'd started eating real food instead of just killing people for their blood. Evera and I sat at a table. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the Alpha sitting alone, as always, until some guy with a goofy smile sat next to her. She looked comfortable with him.

Then the princess and her lackeys arrived. But this time, the princess wore sunglasses. Who the hell wears sunglasses in a university where not even the sun's rays can reach through the windows? Evera looked at her with disgust, and I didn't like that.

Evera : Always ready to steal the spotlight, that one.

I rolled my eyes and focused on my meal. I wasn't going to let my two enemies ruin my day. They could look elsewhere for trouble.

Evera : By the way, darling, your father said that as soon as your first year is over, he'll give you the title of Lord of the Vampires.

I raised an eyebrow and looked at her.

Kemran : And why wasn't I informed?

She shrugged.

Evera : I don't know. He told me because he assigned me to keep an eye on you.

Kemran : You've been spying on me all this time?

Evera : Yes. But I never reported anything about the alliance or your… relations with them.

It didn't surprise me that my father had someone spying on me. He was the Lord of our fortress the Black Fortress. I could say it was about the same size as this university. Naturally, since we are the most powerful vampires. Everyone knows us as the Black Fortress, but in truth, it has another name: NEVERKILLS. The others only know the darker name.

Evera : Kemran..

Kemran : Do I look like I need a babysitter?

Evera : I'm sorry, my love. It was my Lord's order.

Damn it. Just once, he couldn't trust me? I sighed in frustration before getting up. I could feel everyone's eyes on me like I cared. Their opinions wouldn't kill me. Pfft.

I kept walking. I passed people dressed in black, still mourning the death of Kendrick or should I say Tevi Warrens. I avoided them and headed for the training hall. We didn't have any elite classes scheduled today, but I wanted to train anyway. Mostly to get rid of my frustration.

What frustration, you ask? The frustration of having a father who's a first class bastard, who doesn't even know what trust means. The frustration of him daring to send a girl to spy on ME. And the frustration of missing my two enemies because all I wanted was to hold them in my arms.

Damn mate bond. It was the bond that was giving me these ridiculous urges.

I reached the great hall and got changed. When I came back, I started running through that damn obstacle course the one I still hadn't managed to finish to the end.

I started running, leaving my frustration behind me.
