Cu Chulainn raised an eyebrow.
Honestly, if the other party could really save Bazett, he wouldn't refuse.
After all, Bazett was a descendant of the knightly order he had once served.
"How can you guarantee what you're saying is true?" He wasn't about to believe it so easily.
Medea spoke calmly. "What if we sign a Geas Scroll?"
Cu Chulainn sneered.
"And what use is that to Heroic Spirits like us?"
A Geas Scroll was a magical contract used by mages in the Type-Moon world to make vows that could not be broken.
It was the most absolute guarantee against betrayal.
By using the caster's own Magic Crest, it placed a compulsory curse on the caster themselves.
In principle, its effect could not be removed.
Once the scroll was signed and the conditions were met, even if the one who made the vow died, as long as the Magic Crest was passed on, their soul would remain bound after death.
But there was a problem.
Heroic Spirits were not living beings.
In a sense, they were already dead.
Once they returned to the Throne of Heroes, contracts like this were basically meaningless.
That was why Cu Chulainn sneered.
Medea smiled.
"So you don't even have the courage to gamble, big dog?"
Cu Chulainn burst out laughing.
"You really look down on me."
Medea smiled and said nothing.
After a moment of thought, Cu Chulainn nodded.
"Fine. I accept. Anyway, just like your Master said, I don't have a good impression of my current one."
He jumped down from the rooftop, landing in front of Emiya and Medea.
"So how do you plan to break my contract with my Master?"
"With this," Medea replied. "My Noble Phantasm."
She raised her hand.
Rule Breaker.
As a weapon, it was practically useless.
But it possessed the ability to break any magic it pierced.
Reinforced objects, magical contracts, or life forms created through magical energy.
All of it would be reset to the state before magic was applied.
In other words, a contract based on magical energy would be erased, and a magical life form would be destroyed on the spot.
Its applications were limited.
Its impact within the Holy Grail War system was not.
Medea stabbed Cu Chulainn.
Immediately, he felt his contract with Kirei Kotomine shatter.
"Now you can form a contract with my Master," Medea said.
Cu Chulainn looked at the Noble Phantasm in her hand, a hint of caution in his eyes.
"That thing isn't very friendly to Heroic Spirits."
Medea smiled.
"Well, that's because I'm the Witch of Betrayal."
"The Witch of Betrayal?" Cu Chulainn clicked his tongue. "That's not a flattering title."
"What?" Medea asked with a mocking smile. "Scared?"
Cu Chulainn laughed.
In the end, he signed a contract with Emiya, becoming his second Heroic Spirit.
His actions spoke louder than words.
Afterward, Cu Chulainn frowned.
"I just felt someone summon a new Heroic Spirit. Why don't I see them?"
"Come with me."
Medea smiled mysteriously and led Emiya and Cu Chulainn to the shed.
When Emiya stepped inside, he saw Shirou Emiya pinned to the ground by several Dragon-Tooth Warriors.
Dragon-Tooth Warriors were low-level magical creatures, typically used in numbers to carry out their summoner's commands.
Several of them restrained Shirou, weapons pressed against his neck.
One sudden movement, and his head would be severed.
As for why Artoria hadn't intervened, the reason was simple.
She was bound by tough crimson threads of magical energy, all connected to layered magic circles.
She couldn't move.
More accurately, she didn't dare to move.
This was Medea's trap.
The moment Artoria was summoned, it activated.
It restrained Artoria and pinned Shirou in place.
If Artoria truly wanted to break free, it would only take a few seconds.
But those few seconds were more than enough for the Dragon-Tooth Warriors to kill Shirou.
That was why she remained still.
As a King of Knights, she would never gamble her Master's life.
"What a despicable tactic."
When Artoria saw Medea enter, she scolded her without hesitation.
Medea remained calm.
Compared to the slander she had endured in life, this meant nothing.
Cu Chulainn whistled softly.
"Not bad, Witch. You caught a Heroic Spirit this easily. So what now? Planning to eliminate her?"
Medea smiled.
"Of course not. She's a gift for my Master."
Cu Chulainn froze, then turned to Emiya.
"Wait, wait. You're planning to contract a third Heroic Spirit? Do you really have the magical energy for that?"
Emiya shook his head.
His reserves were barely enough for two.
A third was impossible.
"So you're unhappy with your Master and just want to kill him?" Cu Chulainn asked Medea.
Medea casually tossed him a magic stone.
Cu Chulainn caught it and examined it.
"This is pure magical energy."
"My Master can obtain as many of those as he wants," Medea said. "There's no need to worry about supply."
Cu Chulainn laughed loudly.
"In that case, I have no objections. Even if you sign contracts with all the Heroic Spirits, I won't stop you."
"That won't work," Emiya said, shaking his head.
Cu Chulainn blinked.
"Why not?"
"There's a hidden rule in the Holy Grail War," Emiya said. "If all Heroic Spirits belong to the same side, the Grail will issue seven new qualifications and summon seven new Heroic Spirits."
"A seven-versus-seven Holy Grail War."
Cu Chulainn's blood surged.
"Now that sounds fun. Master, should we go for it?"
"Relax," Emiya replied. "As long as I'm around, you'll definitely get your chance to fight in a Holy Grail War."
"Maybe we'll even save Humanity together."
"...Save Humanity?" Cu Chulainn frowned. "What happened to it?"
Emiya spoke evenly.
"In one parallel world, the Grand Heroic Spirit Solomon wished to become a normal human."
"From his corpse, the Demon God King Goetia was born."
"Goetia is a collective of seventy-two Demon Gods. One of the Seven Evils of Humanity. A Beast that embodies mercy."
"After gathering power for thousands of years, he burned Humanity to the ground."
"He ended human history."
Silence filled the room.
Cu Chulainn: "..."
Medea: "..."
Even Artoria and Shirou, still pinned to the ground, said nothing.
"Burning Humanity to the ground..." Cu Chulainn muttered. "That's not even funny."
"It isn't," Emiya agreed.
"But not all humans died."
"There was an organization called Chaldea that survived."
"They're still fighting to restore Humanity."
"If we ever reach that world, we should help them."
Cu Chulainn nodded without hesitation.
"Of course. But Master, you can travel between worlds?"
"Are you the wielder of the Second Magic? Did the previous one die?"
"No," Emiya said.
"I'm not the wielder of the Second Magic."
"My ability surpasses it."
Cu Chulainn looked doubtful.
Medea smiled faintly.
"I can confirm it. My Master doesn't just travel between parallel worlds."
"He can cross into entirely different worlds."
"He is, in every sense, a genuine outsider."
Cu Chulainn stared for a moment, then laughed.
"Looks like I found an incredible Master this time."
Medea walked up to Artoria and lifted her chin with a finger.
"So, King Arthur."
"After hearing all that, do you want to become my Master's Servant?"
Artoria narrowed her eyes.
"You know who I am?"
Cu Chulainn suddenly reacted.
"Wait. I just heard something important."
King Arthur was the Eternal King of Celtic legend.
And he himself was from Celtic mythology.
"That's right," Medea said with a smile. "The blonde woman before you is the legendary Eternal King-Artoria Pendragon."
Cu Chulainn stared at her, then slapped his forehead.
"The world-famous King Arthur is a girl? That's..."
A vein pulsed on Artoria's forehead.
Seeing this, Emiya stepped in.
"Don't worry, Artoria. He doesn't mean anything by it. He just thought of someone."
"After all, his teacher is the Queen of the Land of Shadows."
Cu Chulainn shuddered.
"Don't mention that old woman."
"You say that so casually," Emiya replied. "Aren't you afraid she'll jump out and beat you?"
Cu Chulainn snorted.
"Don't joke. This is a Holy Grail War."
"With her level of power, it's impossible for her to be summoned as a Heroic Spirit."
Emiya smiled, saying nothing.
Because, in a sense-
Cu Chulainn was completely right.
The Holy Grail War was indeed insufficient to drag Scathach out of the Land of Shadows.
