Chapter 6 - The Two Stone Tablets

A shattering noise flowed flexibly after some minutes spent in the transparent glass box shattering on it's own. The sudden shatter made Frank to immediately jolt in sudden fear and shock.

"The fuck?!!"

Frank voiced out as he took steps backward until his back hits the metallic door. When his back hits the metallic door, he also in turn jolts in fear turning to look behind him.

Confirming that's it was just the door, he looks hastily to his front to see that the transparent glass box is already scattered on the floor.

The transparent glass box covering the two stone tablets is now shattered and it's remnants, falling easily on the floor.

The two stone tablets, now out in the open and out from the glass box covering it, seemed to hum otherworldly.

The golden glow that is currently glowing seemed to glow brighter now that the two stone tablets were out in the open.

With new found magical power, the two stone tablets on the high stand flew into the air. They stopped simultaneously when they were just in front of Frank's line of sight.

The prophetic words on the two stone tablets, glowing brighter, seemed to hum otherworldly to Frank.

Frank could feel that for some reason, the artifact was no longer ordinary.

He perceived that from the otherworldly hum and the glowing words on the two stone tablets.

As expected, his mouth hung open and his eye sockets still bulged out in shock and disbelief.

An overly important artifact kept and stored in an enclosed room by the American government is glowing brightly right in front of him.

What more could actually be so disbelieving?

However, the air became heavy.

The atmosphere became thick with undeniable pressure.

Frank could feel it. It was the same pressure that had shattered the glass box covering the artifact.

Now that the artifact is out in the open, it seemed to discharge that same pressure to the surrounding.

As the two stone tablets mysteriously floated and the words on it glowing bright golden, Frank couldn't hold it anymore and he let out a loud shriek.

He fell to the ground, the undeniable pressure the two stone tablets was discharging easily forcing him to his knees.

The undeniable pressure was also acting on the other artifacts in the room, shattering their glass boxes that once did well in covering and protecting them.

Frank, now on the floor, trembled continuously in fear and disbelief. All around him in the enclosed room, the glass boxes protecting and covering the other artifacts in the treasure room were all shattering, taking effect of the mysterious sudden act one of the artifacts had taken on.

Frank couldn't hold back anymore.

He screamed loudly again without stopping.

The fear creeping into his heart, while waiting for someone to come to his rescue.

Philip, a guy who is relatively tall with a broad masculine qualities is one of the squad of security personnels guarding the enclosed room for the current six hours.

He stood still, his face having a familiar scowl with a machine gun in his possession. He stood where he is stationed at the southern side of the treasure room, close to his other colleague known as Andrew and also closer to the door that serves entrance into the treasure room at the southern side.

It's been relatively 11 minutes ever since another of his colleague, known as Frank had ventured into the treasure room.

Being the one who had made his Frank's request known to their superior, it is quite expected of him to first notice that something was wrong.

And taking the initiative, he signaled to Andrew who is also a tall man, standing a little bit farther away from the metallic door of the southern side.

"Hey Bro! Something's wrong".

Philip voiced out as he turned to Andrew, who is further away.

Andrew also turned to Philip and he furrowed his brows in confusion. Not really getting where Philip is heading to with his sayings.

"What's the matter?"

Andrew said, his voice was bold and he seemed obviously concerned.

Philip didn't waste time in leaving where he was stationed as he approached where Andrew stood.

"It's about Frank. He's been in the treasure room for some time now and he isn't out yet".

Philip strode towards Andrew, holding his machine gun boldly and confidently.

Andrew, hearing Philip's words could only sigh. He wiped his forehead with his left hand, a machine gun also in his possession.

"That little pest of nuisance! I wonder what's gotten into him. He behaves like a child, sometimes".

"You got that right. I sometimes wonder how I cope with him as a friend and colleague".

Philip said with a smug smirk.

"Well, it's your fault for suggesting his idea to the Sergeant. Just hope he doesn't do anything that would cost him a lot while he's in the treasure room".

"That's Frank for you".

Philip said in sudden conclusion.

"Let's wait a bit and if he doesn't come out, we go in".

Andrew hadn't even gotten the words through when suddenly a loud scream was heard from inside the enclosed room, followed by a simultaneous shattering noises.

Both Frank and Andrew became alarmed at once.

"What was that?"

Philip asked as his eyes darted to the metallic door of the southern side.

"I have no idea. Let's check it out".

Andrew said hastily, his eyes moving to the metallic door while gripping the machine gun in his hand, tightly.

"Now I hope Frank hasn't done anything that would cost him everything. I wish I shouldn't have made his request known to Sergeant Buster".

"Should we contact Sergeant Buster?"

Andrew asked, already going for his ear.

Philip shook his head.

"No not yet. Let's check it out and make sure Frank hasn't done anything wrong that would cost him a lot".

"Okay then".

With that, Andrew and Philip trudged forward, closer and closer to the metallic door which Frank had once ventured into.

They moved quite quickly, as they continuously heard shattering noises that seemed to be coming from the inside, therefore heightening their fear and worry about Frank.

"Frank! What have you done?!"

Philip muttered as he hurriedly imputed the password on the high tech keypad.

Together, they both entered the treasure room.

In the treasure room, Frank is on the floor. Actually, he was trembling while being on his knees and also screaming in fear that seemed to creep steadily into his heart.

All around him, the glass boxes covering each and every artifact stored in the enclosed room were cracking rapidly and shattering to pieces, their glass shards falling to the ground.

Also, the two stone tablets, once an artifact Frank had earlier inspected is now in the air with it's prophetic words glowing with golden light, while also releasing pressure to that atmosphere, causing a scene like no other.

Just immediately, Philip and Andrew burst into the treasure room, holding their machine guns with worry written on their features.

"Frank! What the hell!"

Philip spat out as he rushed in along with Andrew.

They immediately took in their surroundings, everything laying out before them.

They could see the glass boxes covering and protecting artifacts, mysteriously cracking and shattering to pieces.

Plus Frank on the ground and trembling in fear and with eyes bulged out.

Then finally, their eyes took in the cause of the whole scenery. Seeing an artifact floating in the air and that should have been in a glass box like the others.

They could feel the creeping hum that the artifact released and they both could see the words on the artifacts glowing.

Seeing all these, they also in turn fell to their knees as the undeniable pressure acted on them.

Philip, realizing this tried his best to fight the pressure but it was no use as he was still forced to go on his knees by the undeniable pressure.

Also did Andrew who is frozen in fear.

"Frank, what's this?"

Philip asked in a trembling voice, but Frank was too lost in the creeping fear to even answer.

Just then, the metallic door of the Eastern side of the treasure room burst open as another three figures rushed into the treasure room.

They were at the opposite side of the treasure room, farther away from where Frank, Philip and Andrew knelt down, taking in the effect of the undeniable pressure.

They also took in the scenario that played out before them and were immediately forced to their knees.

In all of this, the two stone tablets floated proudly in the air, being the reason for the chaos in the enclosed room where the American government had stored artifacts and treasures that are overly important.

The drum has been beaten. The wind is moving and the story has just begun.

First it starts with the two stone tablets, discovered not long after the Angel of war had disappeared.

What's more to come?

The security personnels are in for something that would change their lives because fate has chosen them.
