Up on the rooftop, hidden in the shadows, two cloaked figures watched the chaos unfolding below
"Don't tell me he saw us. He kept looking in our direction," the woman whispered, anxiety creeping into her voice.
"Of course he did, Zara..." Belphegor murmured lazily, tugging down the hood of his cloak. His golden, half lidded eyes gleamered in the dark. "He noticed us, he pretended not to."
"A smart man," Zara said with a sly smile. "But the girl... she's human.."
"The big bad wolf finally found himself a little damsel in distress," Belphegor drawled, a faint smile curling his lips.
Below them, corrupted vampires stalked the grounds, some half feral, others already collapsed and dead from the poison.
"Most of them turned rogue. The rest died." Zara smirked as she watched one stumbled through the road side.
"Guess the poison worked."
