Chapter 33 - Chapter 32 - All Eyes on Me

The Holy Land, Mary Geoise,

is the capital of the World Government, where its top brass reside and govern. It is a sovereign domain where the Gods Knights hold jurisdiction and the Celestial Dragons make their home.

The Room of Authority is the chamber wherein the Five Elders, the Gorosei, convene. It is a vast, expansive, and opulent hall adorned with tall alcoves and windows lining its walls. The floor's intricate design consists of light-colored circles arrayed over a dark, polished background. The room is furnished with two couches and a chair for the Five Elders, alongside two tables laden with stacks of official documents. Permission to enter is strictly enforced; even regular Celestial Dragons, including those from the Gods Knights, are prohibited from entering freely.

The room was saturated with a palpable tension and heavy silence. The Five Elders were seated upon the couches, while the wanted poster of the trio—Gojo, Ryuken, and Jake of the Blue Eyed Pirates—lay visible upon the table.

This poster was an updated issuance, distributed following the catastrophic incident that resulted in the destruction of the great prison, Impel Down. The bounties of the trio had skyrocketed to scarcely believable figures: the captain, Gojo, now boasted a bounty of 789 million Beri; the second mate, the swordsman Ryuken, 384 million Beri; and Jake the Sniper, 200 million Beri. Their total worth exceeded a billion Beri.

The Gorosei glared at the updated poster, their collective anger permeating the room. The tension escalated precipitously the moment the initial report had arrived, their fury and frustration elevating with each new detail.

"He can fire a laser-like attack, manipulate space, his body is enveloped in a peculiar form of energy, and possesses instantaneous regeneration," Saint Saturn remarked, his voice deceptively calm yet utterly terrifying. "Does he possess the Supreme King's Haki?"

Nusjuro, the swordsman, exhaled deliberately before adjusting his glasses. "I doubt he possesses the Conqueror's Haki. For argument's sake, if he did, how was he able to infuse it with his fist?"

"..." Tension was reignited amidst the Gorosei. "He is an enigma. What variety of Devil Fruit could he have consumed?"

"Given the essence of power he has demonstrated, I theorize he might now be on par with a few of the Warlords."

"Why not extend an invitation for him to become a Warlord? We could thereby ascertain the truth of his Devil Fruit and utilize his strength more effectively."

"An elegant proposition. We should proceed."

"We cannot afford to manage another threatening rookie while we are concurrently dealing with the Yonkos."

"Dispatch orders to Fleet Admiral Sengoku immediately. He shall be the one to extend the formal invitation."

"Understood." One of the Elders sipped water from his glass. "Since he departed Impel Down aboard a commandeered warship, he must be heading for the Grand Line, is he not?"

"Certainly, he is. I anticipate the first island they will encounter will be Water Seven."

"Precisely. He cannot sail a Marine warship indefinitely; he will inevitably go there to commission or purchase a new vessel."

"Then, if he does, we must send orders to CP0. Instruct Rob Lucci and his team to execute the plan and recruit him."

"What if he refuses to submit?"

"We will authorize CP0 to execute him on the spot."

"Very good."

The Elders let out a collective sigh; the wanted poster and the incident constituted profoundly shocking news. It was news significant enough to compel their gathering, to discuss, and to reach a unanimous conclusion: to recruit him as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.

[THE NEW WORLD]

The news had propagated like wildfire across the entire globe, detailing the incident at Impel Down and the newly updated bounties of these particular pirates.

Elsewhere, a crew of pirates was celebrating after a long day at sea. Their captain was drinking liberally, sharing animated stories, and consuming a prodigious amount of chicken.

They had just vanquished a contingent of minor Marines and several rival pirates who had attempted to ambush them, making a celebration imperative.

Then, a News Coo sighted the pirate ship from the sky and descended to deliver the latest newspaper and bounty posters. The first mate, Beckman, gave the bird a coin and carried the paper to where his crewmates and captain were reveling.

"Beckman, don't be so stern. It's time for a party; we don't need that newspaper right now," the captain, Shanks, hummed as he sipped another round of sake.

Beckman let out a sigh; his captain, an airhead at times, could be as carefree as any minor-league pirate. He knew he had to scrutinize the newspaper to monitor world events, even if his captain found no immediate interest in it.

He opened the newspaper and began to read. Cold sweat slid down from his brow, and the cigarette hanging from his lips fell to the deck, causing the Red Hair Pirates to halt their merriment and focus on Beckman, whose expression had shifted drastically upon glimpsing the headlines.

"What's the matter, Beckman?" Shanks muttered, taking another bite of the chicken in his hand.

"You look pale. What the hell is in that newspaper?" Lucky Roux swallowed, stepping closer to Beckman.

"Shanks, do you remember that white-haired kid we saw at Party's Bar in the East Blue?" Beckman glared at the newspaper in his hand, not shifting his gaze to his captain.

Shanks closed his eyes, trying to recall. "Oh, that kid who thrashed the bandits trying to ruin Makino's bar?"

"Yeah."

"What's the big deal about him?"

Beckman outstretched his hand, holding the newspaper. "Here, look at this. I never thought he'd cause a scene that would shake the world to its very core."

Shanks and his crew were utterly dumbfounded and flabbergasted. They were at a loss for words, struggling to process the information they were witnessing.

"He's labeled a supreme threat—a rookie with a mysterious Devil Fruit. He defeated the Warden, Magellan, and orchestrated the destruction of Impel Down from within. Not only that, he annihilated approximately fifteen Marine warships surrounding the prison and absconded with a stolen vessel?"

Even Shanks felt a moment of trepidation. He recalled meeting the man in the East Blue but was certain he had not sensed any formidable aura emanating from him then.

Had he been concealing his aura, or was it merely a fluke?

Then, their eyes fell upon the wanted posters of the Blue Eyed Pirates: Captain, 789 million Beri; Ryuken the swordsman, 384 million; and Jake the Sniper, 200 million Beri.

"Hey, hey, isn't this a bit excessive for a bunch of rookies?" Roux said, his eyes fixed on the sniper's poster.

"It seems the captain is a Devil Fruit user, and he's secured a skilled swordsman and a sniper! I really want to meet them again!" Shanks smiled, rubbing his left shoulder with his right hand. "If he's truly a formidable rookie, he will enter the Grand Line to make a name for himself. Then, if he still has the guts, I would like to meet him."

"Captain… don't tell me you want to fight him or recruit him."

Shanks rolled his eyes and smirked. "No way, no way! I just want to thank him again for saving Makino-san a long time ago!"

"Didn't you thank him then? Captain, don't get overexcited. He's just a rookie, like Luffy."

"Oh, Luffy, huh? I wonder how he's doing!"

"Knowing him, he's undoubtedly doing great. I cannot wait to see him again."

"Okay, okay, that's settled then! Let's get this party started!" Shanks lifted his sake cup as he jolted upright from the deck where he was sitting.

"Yeah!!!"

[SOMEWHERE IN THE NEW WORLD]

Wano Country.

The Beast Pirates were partying throughout the night. Their captain, Kaidō, the King of Beasts and the strongest creature alive, was guzzling a huge barrel of sake when one of his underlings rushed in with the newspaper.

"Kaido-sama! A new rookie has emerged! He destroyed Impel Down, obliterated fifteen warships surrounding the great prison with a mysterious Devil Fruit, and escaped on a hijacked Marine ship," the underling immediately explained to Kaidō, who kept drinking. "Captain of the Blue Eyed Pirates, Satoru Gojo, with a bounty of 789 million Beri; Ryuken the swordsman, 384 million; and Jake the Sniper, 200 million Beri."

Hearing this, Kaidō halted drinking for a moment. "Worororororo! A rookie from the East Blue? Tell Jack to sail into the Grand Line and bring that brat to me! Worororororo!"

"Yes, Kaido-sama!" The man immediately ran out to relay the information to the crew and to Jack via a Den Den Mushi.

The news spread in a flash; even the Yonko, the four Emperors of the Sea, were becoming intrigued by the sudden development. How far had the Marines fallen? Was this their notion of executing justice?

[GRAND LINE]

In a vast chamber, the Warlords of the Sea sat together, awaiting orders from their superiors.

"Oi, oi, who would have thought a rookie would emerge from the East Blue?" The Heavenly Demon, Donquixote Doflamingo, laughed derisively as he stared at the newspaper and the wanted poster.

"He has fortitude," Dracule Mihawk, the world's strongest swordsman—the man who had inspired countless others to sail the seas seeking to defeat him and claim his title—remarked dryly, his legs crossed upon the large table.

"Shishishishi! I cannot wait to turn him into a zombie! Shishishishishi!" Gecko Moria clenched his fist, a sinister smirk plastered on his face.

Then, the world's most beautiful woman hummed in a whisper, "He is remarkably handsome." Boa Hancock whispered to herself, staring intently at the wanted poster before quickly regaining her haughty composure. "All men are equally vile! Let us see how much fortitude he truly possesses when he sails into the Grand Line!"
