The party continued loud, cheerful, and blissful, but Zyra was feeling more uncomfortable by the minute. She did so well hiding it from Victor.
She was lost in thought trying to scan her eyes through the room, but the sirens weren't there anymore. Suddenly, she felt the sharp song in her ears again, and Victor was with a group of men discussing business. Images of Grandma Ophelia flashed in her head, and she wanted to know what it was, but it felt like it was the only thing she could see. She placed her hand on the bartender's desk, and the entire building began to vibrate. Starting with every glass on the bartender's desk, to all in his counter, and then the ground underneath them. Zyra suddenly withdrew her hand from the bartender's desk, but the vibration still didn't stop. It worsened; it was as if an earthquake were preparing to happen. It was as if the building were about to collapse.
