The drive to Drew's house was long and quiet. Thalindra sat beside him, her hand squeezed against her lap as she stole silent glances at Drew, who stared out the window, lost in thought.
She exhaled lightly before speaking.
"Thanks for tonight".
"Don't thank me. You shouldn't have been there in the first place". He spoke his eyes still fixed out the window.
She knew he hadn't completely forgiven her. He just felt it was right to protect her. When they got to the house, Drew got down, leaving her behind. She shut her eyes for a while before stepping out. If she was going to battle with his hate then she was ready to do it. She walked behind him and suddenly spoke after they had gotten into the house.
"You said you never stopped loving me".
Drew's eyes flinched, but he replied to her anyway. "I said I never stopped loving you I didn't say I forgave you".
