Chapter 3 - 3

Ada Wong, often referred to as "Auntie Wong," "Sister Wong," or "Beaten Wong," is a mysterious and multifaceted spy in the Resident Evil series, embodying both good and evil; she is a legendary figure in the underworld.

Of course, that's in the Resident Evil game; the Sister Wong before me is a member of the World Federal Investigation Bureau.

Her appearance truly surprised and delighted Li Chengfeng.

The surprise was that this meant the World of Resident Evil had also merged with this World, and a Tyrant or Nemesis might suddenly pop out of some corner.

The delight was that, compared to the bizarre Worlds of Marvel and DC comics, the Resident Evil World was definitely a beginner mode.

After all, in the Resident Evil worldview, there are basically no enemies that cannot be solved with firearms.

If there are, just use a few more rounds.

"Sister Wong, I've heard much about you."

"Compared to the youngest ace Agent of the Republic General Bureau, I am indeed a bit old."

For some reason, Ada Wong's tone carried a hint of resentment.

"I was just joking." Hearing this, Li Chengfeng quickly took the hand she offered. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ada."

"Me too, Agent Li Chengfeng." Ada Wong showed a perfectly appropriate smile, polite and restrained. "Let's head to Gotham City first. I've already reported this mission to the General Bureaus."

"Is time that tight?"

"After all, we're going to Gotham. No one wants to visit that city late at night, especially when Arkham Asylum is the destination."

Li Chengfeng scratched his head. Ada Wong was right.

And most importantly, to take a patient from Arkham Asylum, he would inevitably have to interact with Bruce Wayne.

Whether it's the playboy by day or that Batman by night... "Tsk tsk tsk, the American General Bureau is truly rich and powerful. They actually decided to refurbish their old airbus command center and let us use it."

Li Chengfeng sat in the spacious lounge, looking through the various documents Ada Wong had already prepared.

The stack of documents, piled like a small mountain, mostly contained detailed information on various eccentric individuals.

The first one was still about Harley Quinn.

Unlike the medical records Director Fury gave him, this was a truly detailed biography, from her birth time, precise to the second, to trivial matters like which finger she used most often to pick her nose—everything was recorded.

This truly showcased the intelligence capabilities of the World's largest law enforcement agency.

And the "detailed formation process and plan" that was mentioned earlier? It was only one page long, and not even filled out!

One could imagine how urgent Director Fury was.

What did he mean by "future candidates are up to you"?

What did he mean by "it doesn't really matter if they're human, just roughly human-like is fine"?

Had he been tricked?

Was this Black Egg (Nick Fury) trying to use the excuse of having him form a team to collect Superheroes for him?

"This airbus operated at full capacity until the 1990s. It only became more symbolic after the Helicarrier was built. Both its performance and load capacity are excellent." Ada Wong, who had just set the autopilot, walked out of the cockpit and sat next to Li Chengfeng. "It seems you've already seen Director Fury's team formation plan."

"Indeed. After reading it, I felt like I'd encountered a scam artist. Can I choose to arrest him directly? If that Black Egg (Nick Fury) were thrown into a telemarketing fraud army, he'd definitely rise to become a boss."

"Director Fury does have that kind of operating style, but a simple plan actually means this team will have a very high degree of autonomy."

"Of course, I understand that. If we're going to recruit a madman as a team member, wouldn't the autonomy be high? In our Republic, an old man on the street would definitely report us to the Disabled Persons' Federation for exploiting people with disabilities! However, rather than the purpose of forming this team, I'm more curious why Director Fury specifically chose Harley Quinn as the first member."

"Strictly speaking, I am the first member of the team." Ada Wong lightly bit her fiery red lips, which glistened with a hint of moisture. "As for the reason for designating Harley Quinn, it's simple: because she's one of us."

"One of us?"

Li Chengfeng's curiosity was instantly piqued by this description.

A psychiatrist from a Gotham City asylum, the Joker's criminal partner, being called "one of us" by an elite FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) Agent from a proper background?

"To be precise, she almost became one of us. Even before she completed her studies, she was already included in the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation)'s talent reserve program and granted the status of a provisional Agent. Otherwise, how could she directly enter a high-risk unit like Arkham Asylum for research immediately after graduation?"

Ada Wong still maintained her mysterious yet teasing bad girl demeanor. Her fingertips lightly brushed across Li Chengfeng's hand, and she took Harley Quinn's biography, gently opening it.

"I've summarized all of this in detail in the documents. You didn't just read the first and last pages, did you?"

"...Nonsense! Who would read so many documents in such detail!"

Truly Sister Wong, a pure bad girl.

This is the type he finds most irresistible!

He just can't quit her!

However, the fact that Harley Quinn was a provisional Agent of the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) still struck Li Chengfeng as quite absurd.

Although a provisional Agent hasn't officially become a first-level Agent, she had received a complete Agent curriculum. Coupled with her background as a researcher in mental illnesses, she was nevertheless attracted by that madman, the Joker, and ultimately defected.

It wasn't that Harley Quinn's will wasn't strong enough, but rather that the Joker, that madman, possessed an absurd and eerie mental pollution that completely transcended the realm of science. The smarter a person was, the more easily they were affected by him.

Evidently, the Harley Quinn of back then was a smart person.

"By the way, has the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) coordinated with Arkham Asylum about transferring Harley Quinn?"

Arkham Asylum is not a public institution but a private prison.

That's right, a prison, and its theoretical security strength is second only to spatial prisons like the Phantom Zone, even higher than Belle Reve Prison, where the Suicide Squad is held.

Although Amadeus Arkham was the founder, for the current Arkham Asylum, the primary financier is Bruce Wayne.

"The coordination was completed before we departed," Ada said, and the airbus's intelligent system projected a video call request onto the large screen. "Oh, you see, it's just in time."

"What's just in time?"

Li Chengfeng instinctively replied as he looked up, then saw the video call request on the large screen.

It was from Bruce Wayne.

"Tsk... connect."

"Okay."

Ada Wong skillfully operated the projected three-dimensional screen, and the next moment, a deep and sexy male voice echoed throughout the lounge.

"Hello, Agent Li Chengfeng."

"How can everyone know my name? Am I that famous? Even Gotham City's renowned Bruce Wayne knows me? I shouldn't be some aspiring female celebrity or model, right?"

"I detect a great deal of sarcasm in your words, but I'll take that sarcasm as a compliment." Bruce Wayne on the screen seemed completely unfazed by the sarcasm; instead, he nodded towards Li Chengfeng. That handsome face with a strong sense of justice and a square jaw exuded an aura of integrity. It was hard to imagine how he used this face to masquerade as a playboy. "Director Fury and I are old acquaintances. Wayne Enterprises is one of the American General Bureau's outsourced partners."

Good heavens! Director Fury actually had a connection with the old man?

Would Tony cry? It's a strong NTR vibe.

"Since you're old acquaintances with Director Fury, you naturally should know Harley Quinn's identity." Li Chengfeng leaned on the armrest of the sofa, propping his chin with his right hand, and said with some amusement, "But isn't your concern for her a little too deep?"

"Doctor Harleen Quinzel was once my friend. You should understand that people like me rarely have true friends, especially of the opposite sex."

"Then I can assure you, this matter will absolutely only benefit her, with no harm. I, Li Chengfeng, keep my word."

"If that's truly the case, then that's excellent." Bruce Wayne nodded. "Well, this playboy has an appointment tonight, so I won't be able to personally bid farewell to Doctor Quinzel. Please make yourselves at home."

"Life always has some regrets, just as Batman doesn't always successfully catch his prey, right?"

Bruce Wayne's expression remained unchanged upon hearing this, but his eyes shifted: three parts sharp, three parts thoughtful, four parts suspicious.

Li Chengfeng pretended not to see the pie chart in the eyes of Gotham's charismatic dark Overbearing CEO Type and directly ended the video call.

"It seems we won't be seeing this richest man."

"Indeed, Ada, we might not see Bruce Wayne."

The playboy by day seemed very busy.

But that Batman didn't look like he had a date.
