"Why are you hiding it?" Dasom asked, her voice softer now. She squinted her fox-like eyes at Haeun as she waited for her to speak.
For a long moment, Haeun said nothing. She just stood there, her heart pounding, her mind racing through every possible denial, every excuse she could give.
But what was the point?
Dasom already knew. She already knew. There was no point in pretending otherwise.
"Fine," Haeun whispered finally, her shoulders sagging in defeat. "Fine. Yes. I'm Hana. Happy now?"
Dasom's expression didn't change. "You're the only one from school who knows my identity," Haeun continued, her voice tight. "Please don't tell anyone. Please. I don't want anyone to know. No one."
"Not even Yuna knows?" Dasom looked genuinely puzzled, and she folded her arms across her chest.
Haeun shook her head. "Not even Yuna."
"Why?" Dasom asked. "Why hide it? There's nothing wrong with working part-time."
