Soon after, thousands of students filed out of the main gate, Hinari walked past with a glare, and accompanying her were 3 of her friends. The sun was starting to drop as Kairo leaned against a gate. He noticed the 3 girls all happened to be tier 1s, a tiger girl with orange and black hair and black cat ears that were planted atop her head, the same with the rest of them, a white snow leopard hybrid girl, and a puma girl with similar eyes.
Almost like Hinari, only surrounded by people like her; they were laughing, but her friends never noticed Hinari's disdain towards Kairo. All tier 1s, no Lucan insight. She walked through the crowd as people naturally parted for her and her friends; it was strange. That's when Lucan appeared next to him, "Yeah, I never understood why hybrids are tier 1s."
Kairo's head snapped to look at Lucan, "So what now?" Lucan started to walk into the crowd, "Keep up." Kairo started to follow Lucan along the main road and along another road that led past a shopping centre before turning right to Cinderpoint Station. It was clean with security guards on both sides of the barrier to stop fare evaders. There were a few stalls set up that were non-food related.
Lucan handed him a card, which was an ID with Lucan's face on it that read, "Altitude Bay Protective Unit... Lucan Ronan... Born 23/09/836... Cinderpoint Valley, Ashlane House C146." Lucan tapped in, followed by Kairo, where the officers sneered at them as they took the escalator down to the platform level. "What's with all the officers?"
Lucan sighed before explaining.... "They're not here to keep you safe, Kairo. Not me either. Security's whole job is to make sure Tier 1s feel safe. Smile, bow, open doors for 'em, gush about their hair or their fancy shoes. But you?"
He gestured lazily at Kairo, smirk tugging at his lips again. "Tier 3? They'll snarl at you for breathing too loud. Look at you like you're dirt stuck to their boots. And if anything happens? Doesn't matter if you were right or wrong — you're the one getting dragged off."
