Chapter 13 - See You In Court

"Yes, CEO Bo." Officer Joy bowed and instantly disappeared after opening the cell door, leaving both of them in the cell.

David Bo took a step forward while Cara shrank backwards, her body trembling.

David Bo stretched his hand and patted non-existent dirt off her shoulder. "What evidence do you have in hand? Where did you keep it?" David Bo smiled coaxingly. "Daughter, where did you hide it? Hurry up and be a good girl."

Although his voice was soft, his piercing eyes were far from it.

Cara knew she was done. The Bo family could throw her under the bus when things went wrong, and now that David Bo had already heard what she said… There was no way she'd get out of it alive.

If Cara said the answer, she wouldn't get out of it alive, and even if she didn't, she wouldn't get out of it alive.

But what Cara knew was that if she dared to reveal the evidence and how she got it, David Bo would definitely make her life a living hell before ending her.

Cara fell on her knees with a thud, clasped her hands together, and pleaded profusely, "No. No. I don't know any evidence. I don't know about any evidence. It's just a lie. It was just a lie that I had said to draw President Ji forward." She gritted her teeth and chose to deny it.

"A lie to draw President Ji forward." David Bo reiterated and chuckled as if he had heard a joke.

David Bo leaned forward and grabbed Cara's chin so she could stare into his eyes. He bellowed righteously, "Who do you think you are? How dare you lie to me? Cara Bo, you insolent child! Not only did you disgrace Darcy and the Bo family in front of the whole country, but you even want to ruin your father!"

David Bo raised his hand, and a fierce slap landed on Cara's face.

Cara's face whipped to the side, and she collapsed to the floor, her cheeks turning red. Cara trembled and shook her head like a rattling drum. She cried out, "Father, I didn't! Darcy told me to drug Lily! Darcy isn't innocent! Why won't anyone believe me?"

David Bo bent down and gripped Cara's hair. "Darcy is the heir of the family, while you are nothing but a trouble-causer. So what if she does? You are meant to carry Darcy's shoes and clean her mess."

Cara's heart broke over and over again. Her body trembled, her fists clenched, and she roared, "Are you even my father…"

"Enough." David Bo grabbed her chin and scowled. "Tell me, what evidence have you obtained?"

David Bo had done a lot of bad things, and each of them was more than enough to make him damned for life.

However, he hadn't expected that this bitch would actually have the guts to keep evidence. He didn't know how much evidence she had, and that was more than enough to scare him!

Luckily, he came to the police station; what if he had been a minute late? Wouldn't he have been damned for life because of this bitch? Once he had the evidence, see how he'd handle her.

Cara shook her head and trembled while shouting, "No. No." The more Cara shouted and received no help from the police, the more her heart broke.

Weren't the policemen supposed to shield her and protect her? Who knew they were the ones that would lead her into danger's hands? The policeman had assured her father so much that he could even hurt a criminal in the cell.

Isn't David Bo her father? How can he treat Cara in such a heartless manner? Ever since she was young, she was told to lower her head and not overshadow her elder sister.

By this time, David Bo's fury had gone out of control. Damn this bitch. Since she's so uncooperative, he would just kill her.

A dead body can't talk anyway, so there would be no one to find the evidence in this lifetime.

Once Cara died, David Bo could find someone to take her place in prison or bribe his way out and silence the matter — what's the big deal?

This damn bitch — she was just like her parent, persistent and heartless till the end.

David Bo grabbed her up by wrapping his hands around her neck. "Would you tell me the truth, or is it until I choke you to death?"

Veins popped on Cara's head, and she gasped. "Go on." Cara raised her chin provocatively. "Anyway, either way, I won't go scot-free. Kill me now."

David Bo's eyes turned cold, and he flung her against the wall like a rag doll. He picked her up and raised his hand to slap her…

"David Bo! Daring to assault a detainee in a police station? Brazen indeed!" A cold and domineering voice suddenly spoke from the speaker. "Commissioner, tell me, what's the penal estimate for an action of this nature?"

"Assistant Allen, this is a combination of battery, assault, and aggravated abuse against a minor, and the penalty can range between five and twenty-five years." A fawning voice quickly spoke up.

David Bo froze; he was so stunned that his hand holding Cara let go. Immediately, Cara scurried far away from him.

Before he could process it, a wall lit up, reflecting a screen that no one had paid attention to.

On the screen stood the Commissioner and Zane Ji's secretary, Allen Wang. David's heart flew off, and his face turned pale. "You… Secretary… Secretary Wang! You are here? How—how can you be here?" he cried out.

David Bo was quick to lose his guard because, from the moment he arrived at the police station, everyone fawned on him. He had even spoken to the Deputy Commissioner as if he were a friend.

David Bo simply thought that Zane Ji had sent Cara to the police station and then let her go since it was just a girl's fight.

He hadn't expected that they were keeping an eye on him and that he had walked into a trap.

Secretary Wang arranged his cufflink and calmly pronounced, "See you in court." With this, he turned away and strode out of the police station.

David Bo's legs shook, and he collapsed on the floor.

Officer Joy stepped forward with a handcuff in hand. "Mr. Bo, you are under arrest."
