"Uchiha Sasuke. I hope the next time we meet, we'll friends, not enemies."
"Most importantly, never lose the bonds you cherish. This was the key to your victory over me today, and it's the most precious thing you possess," Haku said, looking at Sasuke with a complex expression, advising him with effort.
If he could, he truly wouldn't have wanted to kill them earlier.
Unfortunately, the power Sasuke unleashed forced him to go all out.
Now, he offered a heartfelt warning.
[Detected Haku's advice, triggering a C-rank reward. Mission: Protect the Bonds; Reward: 0.3 chakra units.]
Sasuke, nonchalant, narrowed his eyes, his gaze toward Haku softening considerable.
He was immensely grateful for these fickle people he once detested.
The ninja world truly lived up to its reputation for talk no jutsu.
"You don't need to worry about that. Sasuke-kun will certainly protect our bonds! And he won't like you."
Sakura said, standing next to Sasuke, staring warily at Haku, interjecting quickly.
She had seen the change in Sasuke's eyes.
She couldn't let Sasuke-kun be lured by this powerful and beautiful ninja!
Sasuke's mouth twitched at her actions, nodding in silent agreement.
"Is that so? I see, you like Sasuke, don't you! But...you're barking up the wrong tree, I'm a man!"
Haku said, stunned, then chuckling weakly.
This made Sakura and Naruto's eyes pop out simultaneously ^0^⦠^0^ā¦
They stared incredulously at Haku's disheveled yet beautiful face, questioning their lives.
"Let's go, Haku." Zabuza said coldly, his face expressionless, carrying Haku toward the bottom of the bridge.
"Zabuza, that guy, failed the mission and is still so arrogant. By the way, how can such a beautiful face be a guy? That's too ridiculous."
Naruto said, scratching his head, muttering, watching their disappearing backs.
He was clearly a beautiful girl.
"Exactly."
Sakura nodded, suspecting Haku was lying.
[Mission completed, reward obtained: Ninja Art: Mist Body Flicker Technique.]
[Mission completed, reward obtained: 0.3 chakra units.]
While the two gossiped, Sasuke heard the system rewards.
His chakra, enhanced by the two-tomoe Sharingan, strengthened again.
Sasuke glanced at his attributes.
His chakra reserves increased from 0.6 units to 1 chakra unit.
As for Mist Body Flicker Technique, it allowed high-speed movement using mist, enhancing surprise when combined with mist and Silent Killing!
"Well, you two are really boring."
Kakashi said, looking at Naruto and Sakura with a helpless smile, then turning to Tazuna.
"Now that Gato is dead, no one will disrupt the bridge construction. Mr. Tazuna, you're quite lucky. The Land of Waves is about to usher in hope."
Kakashi said, pulling down his forehead protector, covering his Sharingan, sighing lazily, secretly relieved.
Finally, he could sleep peacefully.
After this battle, Sasuke and Naruto had progressed rapidly, so this C-rank mission wasn't a loss.
"Grandpa, we've come to help!"
Tazuna was about to chuckle when Inari ran over with villagers, brandishing farming tools and weapons.
"Now, hope is truly coming."
Tazuna said, comforted and resolute, looking at the high-spirited crowd.
At Evening.
After a hearty dinner, Sasuke went to Kakashi's room.
"Sensei, I want to learn that Lightning Release ninjutsu you used today."
Sasuke said, facing Kakashi's curious gaze, getting straight to the point.
There was time before the bridge's completion, and with his two-tomoe Sharingan and increased chakra, he wanted to strengthen his abilities.
"Chidori? That's a high-difficulty A-rank Lightning Release technique, requiring mastery of nature and shape transformation. You're too inexperienced." Kakashi said, frowning, refusing without thinking.
He had rest at last and didn't want to train Sasuke specially.
Chidori required strict supervision!
Hmm, it wasn't that he didn't want to teach.
He was purely lazy.
This made Sasuke's vision darken.
He planned to learn Chidori early as a trump card against Orochimaru, and this was it?
"Uh, you've activated your two-tomoe Sharingan. I'll guide you in Sharingan genjutsu starting tomorrow. If time permits, I'll teach a B-rank Lightning Release technique," Kakashi said, chuckling awkwardly, proposing a compromise, seeing Sasuke's face turn green.
"Alright."
Sasuke nodded, not pressing further, but other thoughts arose.
It's better to rely on myself.
If Chidori wasn't an option, what about Rasengan?
Boruto's Lightning Release: Rasengan was a compressed, disappearing Rasengan.
(A/N: We all agreed that Boruto is just a fanfiction.)
This was a training direction.
He should learn Rasengan first!
Time flew by.
Another month passed in a blink.
Besides one person rotating guard duty on the bridge daily, the others trained.
Naruto and Sakura, seeing Sasuke guided by Kakashi, worked harder!
Naruto perfected Wind Release: Great Breakthrough and trained water walking.
Sakura, at Sasuke's suggestion, asked Kakashi to teach her the C-rank Hidden Mist Technique.
Kakashi, learning Sasuke wanted to combine it with Silent Killing, agreed.
Sasuke, after learning Genjutsu: Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique and Genjutsu: Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings, refused Kakashi's B-rank Lightning Release, citing mastery needs.
In the next month, he secretly trained Rasengan.
Unfortunately, one-handed Rasengan was harder than imagined.
Even knowing the steps, Sasuke, like Naruto, was stuck on the final step.
Without shadow clones, he couldn't complete it like Naruto.
This frustrated Sasuke.
"Alright, let's say goodbye here! Thank you, Mr. Tazuna, for your hospitality."
Kakashi said, standing on the completed bridge, waving to the crowd.
Beside him were Sasuke and Sakura, ready to depart.
"Hahaha! I should thank you! Thanks to you, this bridge was built," Tazuna said, scratching his head, laughing awkwardly, grateful.
"Inari."
"Brother Narutoā¦"
Naruto and Inari, nearby, had tears in their eyes, looking at each other with reluctance and affection.
Their time together had sparked something.
"Let's go. Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura," Kakashi said, nodding to everyone, calling out.
Sasuke and Sakura followed.
Naruto, with tears in his eyes, waved to Inari, gritted his teeth, and followed.
