Sakura shrugged lightly.
"Sensei Kurenai recommended that I intern here. She said I might be more suited to research work than fighting on the front lines. So... here I am."
Naruto nodded in understanding.
"Makes sense. You were always top of the class in theory. I think this kind of work fits you perfectly."
After all, ninjas had different roles. Not everyone served the village through direct combat. The ones in support and research departments worked quietly in the shadows too, contributing just as much.
"So, you won't be training under Kurenai-sensei anymore?" Naruto asked.
"No. She'll still teach me genjutsu. I just come here to study whenever I'm not on missions." Sakura smiled.
Right now, she was still a Genin. She needed more missions and experience before qualifying to work here officially.
"Genjutsu, huh? Kurenai-sensei is one of the best in the whole village."
Naruto grinned, and Sakura puffed up proudly at the praise.
"Oh right, Naruto, what brings you to the research department?" she asked.
"I asked logistics to help build a gravity chamber last time. I'm here to see how it's coming along."
"Gravity chamber? Oh, I think I heard something about that." Sakura tapped her chin. "You should talk to Director Toyano. I'll take you."
"Thanks." Naruto followed her down the hallway.
Soon, they arrived at an office. Sakura knocked, and when a voice inside said come in, she pushed the door open.
"Director Toyano, my classmate wants to speak with you." She bowed politely.
The bespectacled man lifted his head from a table full of blueprints. When he saw Naruto standing behind Sakura, he immediately stood and bowed.
"Lord Naruto!"
Sakura blinked, surprised at the sudden formality.
Naruto smiled gently.
"Thanks, Sakura. I'll take it from here."
She nodded and excused herself, leaving Naruto and the director alone.
"Director Toyano, about the gravity chamber I requested... is it finished?" Naruto asked without beating around the bush.
"Yes, Lord Naruto. We have completed a functioning prototype. Shall we inspect it together?"
"Lead the way."
The technology division had a vast testing area for new ninja tools. In a quiet corner stood a newly built structure. As they approached, the door hissed open automatically, and they stepped inside.
The room was entirely metal. Empty except for a single control console in the center.
"Following your specifications, we constructed a gravity training chamber capable of altering the gravitational field inside," Toyano explained, voice filled with pride.
"This is different from Iwagakure's Weighted Boulder Technique, which increases the weight of objects it touches. That jutsu alters mass. This chamber, however, changes the gravity of the entire space."
He adjusted his glasses and began operating the console.
"It can freely control gravity levels."
As he turned a dial, Naruto suddenly felt his body jerk downward. His muscles tightened. Breathing grew heavy, as if invisible chains dragged every cell of his body to the floor.
The monitor flashed: 3.0G
"Three times normal gravity. It affects every organ and cell. Too much for ordinary people," Toyano said between deep breaths before quickly returning gravity to normal.
Naruto's eyes sparkled.
Exactly like what he remembered from his dream.
He never imagined Konoha already had the technology.
"What is the maximum gravity level?" he asked eagerly.
"Ten times."
Toyano answered confidently.
"This is still the first prototype, so we only reached ten for now. But with time, we can push it further. One day, even a hundred times will be possible."
His eyes shone with fierce academic ambition.
Naruto smiled sincerely.
"Excellent work, Director Toyano. I will report your contribution to Lady Tsunade. Your research is invaluable to the village."
"It is an honor, Lord Naruto."
Toyano bowed again. "The chamber has a safety system. If it detects dangerous strain, it will automatically lower gravity. You may train here without worry."
He stepped back toward the exit.
"If you wish to test it, please do. I will leave you to your training."
When the door slid shut behind him, the room fell silent, humming faintly with dormant power.
Naruto looked around, excitement burning like fire in his chest.
"A gravity environment... this is perfect."
He walked to the center of the chamber.
The metal door closed behind him, sealing him inside.
A soft vibration filled the air as the systems activated.
"Let's start with five times."
He steadied his breathing and turned the dial.
The chamber roared to life.
A crushing weight slammed onto him like a collapsing mountain.
"Ugh...!"
Naruto gritted his teeth, body trembling fiercely. Every muscle screamed. Sweat burst across his skin instantly.
But his eyes burned with determination.
This was exactly the kind of training he needed.
