Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Unfinished Anxiety

"Anken... Anken..."

Many people push each other to try to get closer and see better, but the police react and start shooting into the sky to scare everyone away.

The vast majority of people quickly move away from the cordoned-off area, but I... I end up staying in the same place, noticing something in that huge hole.

As I try to figure out what was happening, the same voice that spoke to me in my mind began to sing softly like the tuning of a violin... reverberating a tone that could bring me calm in the midst of the confusion of the place.

The petrified layer of the meteor begins to crack, as if an egg were opening for the chick to come out and see its beloved mother... little by little, a circular metallic body stood out in the middle of that huge hole.

"It looks like a small space capsule, but capsules like this shouldn't fall in the middle of the city."

Spacecraft technology is designed so that space capsules can fall into the middle of the Pacific Ocean or the Indian Ocean, which are regions far away from any civilized city... in order to ensure safety and avoid accidents like the one we are experiencing now.

However, if it didn't fall into one of these oceans... then it's not a capsule made by human hands.

Suddenly, my body feels a huge tremor... because I feel that I am facing an imminent threat, and not an astronaut.

"Everyone get out of here now! The meteor is opening up and it's dangerous to come into contact with it!"

The police quickly evacuated all the people who were trying to see what was happening, while my hands were being pulled by two police officers to get me away from that space capsule.

My current expression was one of surprise and fear, combining the voice that reverberated in my mind minutes ago with the space capsule, I certainly understood that there was a connection.

- Strick!

Forcing my arms free from the hands of the authorities, I ran after that ship without thinking twice... and the same voice spoke to me again.

"Help... me... please."

My body suddenly froze, his plea for help preventing me from continuing to run toward that hole.

"Why c-can't I... run?!"

With my eyes wide open, I saw a hand appear in the middle of the rearview mirror of that space capsule, and this hand began to glow yellow and leaned against the rearview mirror... with five fingers, this was a human-shaped hand.

"...!"

My heart began to beat wildly, causing me to kneel on the ground coughing up blood while having an anxiety attack... I couldn't get up for anything.

"Agh...!"

- Poof!

My body ended up falling hard on the floor, my anxiety increased even more, and I couldn't stop shaking, as if a ghost hand was preventing me from getting close to that capsule... wait, is the being inside that thing trying to protect me?!

Protect me from what exactly? Since the anxiety never ends?!

"Cough...!"

"Over and out, I repeat, a boy is feeling extremely ill here on the street near the Coronado Bridge, call an ambulance now!"

I listened intently to one of the police officers shouting into a walkie-talkie, while my vision gradually distorted and I couldn't stand up to get away from this rainy place.

However, when I turned my eyes to the police officer in front of me, what appeared to be a tall man with a well-groomed beard and an almost athletic and trained adult body, turned into a face with a small scar on his face, black hair, and light brown eyes... this was my father, whom I always saw in photos.

So this is... the effect before dying? Seeing someone you wanted so much to meet and tried to love even in their absence? This is...

[Marking a spiritual mark on the neck...]

- Tu Tum... Tu Tum... Tu Tum...

I listened to the beating of my heart while my vision was still darkened. Am I dreaming? I can't see anything.

- Swishhhhh...

Suddenly I was hearing the sound of a river flowing calmly... and the sound of my heartbeat disappeared. Honestly, where am I now?

When I managed to open my eyes, I realized I was no longer in California... I am in a small, unknown, enclosed forest, with rivers flowing and many trees around covered with green vines.

"How did I end up here?" Wondering how I ended up in this place, I slowly got up so as not to strain my body too much, so that I could move around and find answers.

My last memories were of the last face I saw in that disaster near the Coronado Bridge.

I could only understand now that my father's face was just an apathetic illusion of my thoughts... my concern for his whereabouts had never ended since I was a child.

As I walked through the clean forest, I felt my legs weakening, implying that I hadn't walked in weeks and my body wasn't fit enough for an indefinite walk.

With no idea where to go, I just followed the trail of stones in front of me, my chest tightening with worry about what was to come... what would I do from here on out? I had never explored a forest.

I had never... been in a forest alone.

- Scrysh... Scrysh... Scrysh...

Hearing a noise through a bush beside me, I quickly backed away and my shoes ended up getting wet after I stepped into the small river behind me.

"Damn, I didn't want to get wet now in this place..." I complained in my mind since I didn't want to get my shoes wet so early in the walk.

Keeping both hands forward in a common Krav Maga stance, I waited for something to come out of that bush to confront me... but when I least expected it, something touched me from behind, and when I tried to fight back, an unknown energy prevented me from hitting it.
