Chapter 5 - New faces, new mysteries-1

It was just another day, nothing new going on except for the fact me and Yuki just found out we can use our powers to 'burrow' the library books at night when the library was closed, it was actually great that we knew how to open locks and to top it all off, there was a back door. It wasn't stealing, we returned it after 2 weeks so, we just burrowed it but as ghosts.

We also ended up taking turns on who is going to take care of the house and it sadly starts with me and currently, it's Yuki's turn.

It was quite a show when Yuki thought of it and actually did it, quite ridiculous to think about. It was my turn to wait at the house for the next 2 hours as the schedule or something like that. I was just in the couch, looking around for the 100th time due to boredom, till my eyes landed on the outdated calendar. I wonder why Madako just left it, mostly in the hurry they left it.

It still felt weird calling those beings by their names. I should just say mother and father like used to, even Yuki stares at me like I committed some feral crime when I call them by their name.

The calendar was of 2021, that was when covid-19 was somewhere near it's end and it also happens to be when me and Yuki were brutally killed, though that fact doesn't bother us anymore like it used to in the begging first or second year.

I am pretty sure that it has been 3 or 4 years till then, we don't celebrate our birthdays anymore, I mean, what's the point when we are dead? The dead remains dead, nothing but a memory in people's mind, nothing but a useless pictures taking up space in peoples gallery or perhaps not but that would only happen if we are someone dear to that person.

Since we don't celebrate out birthday's anymore, I barely got a brief idea on our ages. If I had remembered correctly…Yuki is now 16 or 15? A high school girl and I am supposed to be 20, in college, first or second year?

I have absolutely not like I got any idea on college, thinking back about it, It was the night when I almost finished my high school, I still I can't help but be mad whenever I remember how easily all my hard work decided to vanish because of our death .As for Yuki was somewhere near her finals of her 8th grade.

Suddenly, I heard the door opened, was it Yuki? No, she wouldn't open the door; oh…it was probably another person that would probably here to buy the house and after knowing it is expensive than just leaving it be, it was normal at this point as I always end up looking at the person's face, curiosity kills the cat. That's what people say, I don't exactly remember the other half, oh well, I'm already dead.

In short I see no issue on top; cats have 9 lives, don't they? But they must take care of those lives unlike the dead. I got up from the couch and walked to the door, there was a familiar face…where had I seen it? At night or when I roamed around? No…then, it has to be one of the buyers that checked the house once or twice.

I looked at that person again, it was a male, Japanese, black hair and eye, tall? He seemed 5'12 or even 6 ft. tall! He had a suitcase with him? Behind him was a woman… she seemed American.

'That's some great fashion choice she got there.'

It wasn't some flattery or anything short term that I just thought of, it was the truth perhaps even a fact itself that she was pretty even though I could barely see her face from the distance and the other 2 different person's that seemed to be in a wheelchair?!, wait what?!. It was pretty confusing that 2 people, which I suppose are children in wheelchair?

Which is pretty random and not normal at all but maybe they just had a broken leg or some bones? No…they don't seem to move, almost like they are unconscious

. I glanced back at the man, I tried to remember which one of the 'people-that- almost-bought-the house' (I thought of this name since many checked the house but rarely almost bought it, it would have been a great house if only it wasn't that expensive) it suddenly crossed my mind, I remembered that guy!

Though I don't know his name but he did come with his wife at that time, when Yuki saw him for the first time, when he was seeing the house, Yuki called him 'Frictional man'

I honestly don't know where she got that from. Actually I did had some idea as he seemed like how many male Mc's tend to be like: Good looking, people liking him, a good looking wife.

I preferred 'Self-sacrifical' mc's that end up becoming an important figure in one's life.

They want something yet gain the opposite.

They don't want people to die because of them.

That's why they proceed to sacrifice themselves.

Then, they say things like, 'Why would I sacrifice myself?' at the end of the day, they still don't reach their goal. Sucks to be them and their team mates.

But the thing is.

They are selfish. Of course, they care for others. Some worry their teammates by not telling their plans, some are like a leader in one's eye. Some are trying to protect, some build and some want revenge.

At the end, their all scammers. That's the kind of protagonist I like, it's sad and funny.

Either way, we both just called him, 'Typical frictional man' throughout the entire time he was visiting, good thing he can't hear us, ehe.

I decided to come close enough that I could hear the conversation that is happening between the house manager person and 'Typical frictional man'. The conversation was related to the 'typical frictional man' buying the house, his family living here and all but there was that one thing that caught my attention; he mentioned his 2 daughters, the ones in the wheelchair being in coma due to an accident.

 'TRUCK-KUN! Is that you?'

Nope but instead it seems like it was actually a drunk driver (sadly, it wasn't trunk-kun) , driving a car and 2 children casually crossing the road when it's a red light for the pedestrian, as anyone can guess… BOOM! Or maybe BANG! But it doesn't matter whatever word I use, yes, it doesn't matter but those 2 kids got hit by the car and that's the end of the story on how the 2 daughter of the man got in coma. As I listened to the conversation, I simply got bored, it adult stuff about management and so on, as I quickly lost interest. I decided to roam around the house.
