Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: The Spinning Throwing Knife

Jacques Saunière looked at the still-confused William, smiled, stood up, and patted William's shoulder, saying, "Don't worry, William. I'll tell you everything after the ceremony. Right now, you're not yet an initiate, and it's not clear enough to explain here. Once you see what your family has been guarding, you'll understand."

William could only nod and say, "Alright, Mr. Saunière. Anyway, a few hours won't matter. See you tonight; I'll be waiting here at 8 o'clock."

"Alright, William, you can go see the Louvre, or stroll along the Champs-Élysées in Paris. I know you're very rich, so go buy something for your family. My God, I can't believe Henry's descendant would become a billionaire! Henry was very poor, haha," Jacques Saunière said jokingly.

William also laughed. He knew his grandfather didn't have much money.

William saw Jacques Saunière out of the cafe. Before they parted, Jacques Saunière suddenly asked, "William, have you found any clues about King Henry's treasure that your family has been searching for?"

William's heart skipped a beat. Damn it, this guy wasn't as trusting as he appeared. He was still testing him before leaving.

"Hehe, Mr. Jacques Saunière, our family hasn't been searching for any King Henry's treasure. The matter of the treasure is the Devlinshire family's greatest secret. Mr. Saunière, how do you know about it?" As he spoke, William's hand went to his jacket. He had a Glock under his armpit.

Jacques Saunière saw William's hand reach into his jacket and knew his question had angered William. After a moment's thought, he realized that if someone else knew his family's deepest secret, he would also try every means to eliminate them.

Jacques Saunière quickly said, "Don't rush, William. I can't be sure if you are Henry's successor yet. If you are, you must know what your Devlinshire family has been searching for for generations, am I right, William?"

William pondered for a moment and nodded. "Of course I know, but now I'm curious how you know."

Jacques Saunière immediately said, "See? I know what you're looking for because Henry told me. He asked me for a lot of information and consulted me on many questions. The problem now is that we don't trust each other. Well, I have a way to resolve our misunderstanding. Do you want to hear it, William?"

William didn't waste words and simply said, "Speak."

"Look, William, we can both write the answer on a slip of paper and open them simultaneously. If they're the same, then the misunderstanding is resolved. What do you say, William?" Jacques Saunière said.

"Go inside."

"Alright, William, I didn't expect you, kid, to be so difficult! You pull out a gun at the drop of a hat. This isn't like Henry at all; you're too reckless," Jacques Saunière said as he walked towards the cafe bar, making sure to step into the camera's range.

William watched Jacques Saunière, the cunning old man, walk into the camera's area and deliberately ask the waitress for two pieces of paper and pens in a loud voice. This was to tell William not to mess around; this was a busy area, and there were cameras watching.

William didn't waste words. He wrote "Solomon's Treasure" on the paper, put down the pen, folded the slip, placed it in a coffee cup, inverted the cup, and pushed it onto a table two meters away from himself and Jacques Saunière.

After Jacques Saunière finished writing, William said, "Let me see it first, Mr. Jacques Saunière. You'd better pray that what you wrote is the same as mine, otherwise, you won't be leaving this cafe, Mr. Jacques Saunière."

"That's impossible. We have to look together," Jacques Saunière quickly shook his head.

William ignored Jacques Saunière, bent down, and, using the coffee table to block the camera, took out the Glock from under his arm. He also pulled a suppressor from his storage space and attached it under the table.

All of this was done right under Jacques Saunière's nose. William taking out the gun and attaching the suppressor was clearly visible to Jacques Saunière. Seeing William pointing the gun at him,

Jacques Saunière had no choice but to hand William the slip of paper he had written. William glanced at what Jacques Saunière had written: "King Solomon's Treasure," and breathed a sigh of relief. He then bent down again to put the Glock back in his holster and gestured for Jacques Saunière to look at the slip William had written.

Jacques Saunière breathed a sigh of relief, got up, walked to the coffee cup two meters away, took out the slip of paper, and saw "Solomon's Treasure" written by William. He immediately cursed.

He walked over to William. "Damn it, you brat! Even your grandfather was polite to me, and I'm the Grand Master! Is this how you treat your Grand Master? Pulling out a gun at the drop of a hat? Even if I were someone else's spy trying to pry into your family's secrets, would you really dare to shoot here? Don't you know I'm over 70? If I had a heart attack, wouldn't I have died for nothing?"

William smiled at Jacques Saunière and said, "Believe me, Jacques Saunière, I don't need a gun to kill you. I have many ways to make sure you don't live for another minute. The gun was just a threat; there wasn't even a bullet in the chamber just now."

After saying that, William turned his back to the camera, and a finger-sized throwing knife suddenly appeared in his hand.

He glanced around the coffee shop and saw only one customer sitting by the window in the distance.

With a flick of his hand towards the coffee shop, the throwing knife circled around the room, sliced off a rose from a vase five or six meters away, and then flew back into William's hand.

William discreetly showed the throwing knife to Jacques Saunière, then with a twist of his wrist, the knife disappeared from his hand.

In reality, he had stored it in his storage space.

Jacques Saunière watched William's move dumbfounded, then hurried over to the rose William had cut.

He picked it up and saw a perfectly smooth cut on the stem.

Jacques Saunière walked back, grabbing William's arm and exclaiming, "God, how did you practice that? Henri doesn't have that skill.

Besides being a decent shot, he can't throw knives.

God, this is truly amazing! The throwing knife actually circles around to hit the target and then flies back to your hand!"

"Mr. Jacques Saunière, this is a secret of our Devlinshire family.

Henri just hasn't learned it yet," William lied to Jacques Saunière.

He had learned this throwing knife technique from Bullseye in the system, and he had only been learning for four months.

William could currently only throw two knives at once, while Bullseye could throw a dozen.

William still had a lot to learn.

"Alright, it seems your family truly lives up to its thousand-year legacy," Jacques Saunière sighed.

"Well, William, since we've both established trust, I'll go to work and arrange some things.

I'll see you tonight."

William nodded and said, "See you tonight, Mr. Jacques Saunière."
