(A/N): Hello everyone hope you're having a good day this is for anyone wondering where I have been first I am sorry for not updating the story I don't want to complain about my life everyone has busy days but to make a long story short.
I have been in the process of deciding what college to attend since I graduated, and as I never really bothered to look into anything about it before, I had no idea what I wanted.
Sooo 48 or so videos later about colleges from engineering to many different professions that I don't even want to mention.
I still didn't make a choice but I at least narrowed it down …somewhat
Secondly, I thought I was about to change my device since my device has been giving its last breaths for a while now so I was planning to start again when I replace it but I just delayed the matter.
And many random things from dentist visits to many small everyday things and I left the story to well die a little.
I could complain more but I don't want to so ..I am sorry and I am going to try to update with a more stable schedule.
[Superman (Clark Kent) POV.]
As that thing charged at me I moved at the last second allowing the punch to slide an inch away from my face.
I didn't allow the opening to pass me as my arms moved and held his now extended hand I twisted my waist while my feet pressed against the ground causing it to break as it sank under my force.
I wanted to throw him away.…. No I needed to throw him away from all the innocents to throw him to a place where I can go all out with no fear of harming others.
I had very little time to think so I closed my eyes and I let my hearing focus on all the heartbeats around us thousands upon thousands of heartbeats across the globe all flowed through my head but I focused and in less than a second I determined the direction I needed to throw him to.
I opened my eyes as I threw him at supersonic speed across the sky as the wave broke the glass of the buildings around me.
I flew after him so I can deal with him once he lands.
'There were some heartbeats but it is the quietest place near us which would give me the peace of mind to finish this..... I hope I didn't make the wrong choice'
I stopped in my tracks floating in the sky as he crashed into the ground and rolled on the ground for a kilometre or two until he came to a stop. I would love nothing less than to end this fast but I can't do that as I glanced at my knuckles and body that now healed completely but my ruined suit was there to remind me.
That thing can hurt me. No red sun no kryptonite no magic and yet he can hurt me.
'I can't keep charging at it like a fool I need to focus…'
I forced my anger to subside as I used my supervision and scanned the area around us.….there were some farms in the distance but I don't think I can complain about them.
'It will have to do '
I didn't attack it as I kept watching from a distance while it stood glaring at me but my eyes focused on him studying him as much as I could which made me notice something as my mind kept working.
' He is less hurt? Just like with my heat vision, it seems as if every attack is less effective with time..'
With another roar, it started charging at me forcing me to snap out of it.
'If my guess is right then I would have to finish this quickly….This is getting more and more troublesome with the second '.
As it jumped trying to reach me I moved as our fists met in the air causing the air to spread in another shockwave thankfully since it can't fly I was able to send it back crashing to the ground.
I didn't waste time as I landed atop it with my feet while the ground broke under the force.
I started landing punches at superspeed as the ground under us kept sinking but I ignored it.
I focused on the monster under me with my super vision I was able to see it as a very small Change almost too small to notice.
Each punch I landed pushed a little less hurt him a little less affected him less he wasn't being overwhelmed he was winning just slowly.
I was cut from my thoughts as his hand shot and punched me in the side of the face.
Instead of forcing through it, I let the attack force send me flying since I needed a few seconds to think anyway.
'So my guess was right…what now? I need to end this before he can become more of a nuisance'.
I stood from the small crater that my body formed with a small sigh.
'Seems I will have to get creative with this one'.
Once it rose to its feet again it charged at me like a mindless beast as I met its charge head-on my hands held both of its fists with the palm of my hand it was a contest of strength for a few seconds.
I was about to try and break the contest as I felt sharp pain explode from my hands as both my hands were impaled with spikes that grew from his fists and directly through my palms.
I forced myself to push through the pain as I flew backward as fast as I could making both spikes tear their way through my palms.
I felt a grip on my feet as I tried to back away.
'Oh no'
The next second he pulled my body as I got smacked to the ground only to feel his feet slam on my back.
I forced my head up unfortunately once I tried to get up I felt another foot slam on my head and my face planted again on the ground.
Then the weight atop me disappeared as I was finally free to stand again When I turned my head to see Wonder Woman with the lasso of truth around that thing's neck as Captain Marvel was hitting it in the face with lightning which only made it more angry.
I finally took a deep breath feeling slightly lighter.
"Seems you were in big trouble supe need a hand?".
I looked as Hal landed beside me with Aquaman behind him in a green construct looking slightly amused.
I simply shook my head as I glanced at my hands both with holes through them from the spikes as I said
" Contact the watchtower this thing whatever it is it can adapt to things that harm it and it becomes less effective against it in time we need to either end it somehow or to send it to the Phantom zone".
All of Hal's amusement was gone when I mentioned ending that thing life I heard his heartbeat change as he prepared to probably argue with me about killing it but my serious look and tone made him stop as he nodded at me.
'I understand his hesitation after all I never think of taking a life lightly even when it is the easiest way to do things but I noticed that thing is different because normally when I face criminals even those with no care for others I can feel and see it the.…pause?…. or change the moment their faces change for a millisecond when someone dies the slightest difference in their heartbeats when they feel pain when they struggle'.
'Even Darkside shows contempt, anger, and arrogance '
'It proves that they are alive that they still feel but that thing's heartbeat never changed not even for a millisecond it didn't change during our entire battle as if he was not even fighting'.
'So yes I understand Hal's hesitation but he is not me he doesn't see the world as I do because no matter how I look at it I don't think there is anything living in that thing that we can kill to begin with '.
I shook my head as I prepared to help Captain Marvel.
[Pink Diamond (Mc) POV.]
(19 hours and 20 minutes later)
With a pop, my bubble finally reached the surface.
'Finally, this took way longer than I expected, but I guess the trip was worth it.'
I stood up inside my bubble, looked around, and saw nothing but endless ocean.
"Well, that's pretty disappointing, to say the least."
Not that I expected much, honestly, but after floating all the way up from the bottom of the ocean,
The kid in me had hoped for something exciting since this is the DC universe.
As I kept looking for a few more seconds I sighed heavily.
' I hope you are happy pink because it would have been very useful if we knew how to fly….So I could either swim or let my bubble take me wherever fate decides to...sigh where is lion when you need him that traitor I bet he was sleeping somewhere while I was failing from orbit !'.
If I were in a cartoon a light bulb would have started glowing atop my head as a smirk formed on my face.
"I wonder?"
I looked down at my hands as I used my transformation ability forming a shark-like dorsal fin on my back while my fingers connected to each other with webbing like a frog.
I looked at the bubble surrounding me as I poofed it and felt the water welcome my body I didn't bother trying to move as I started sinking slowly.
I looked at my legs with a very amused look as I used my ability again when I opened my eyes I was greeted with a very beautiful pink tail instead of my legs.
' Well at least I could cross being a mermaid from my bucket list even though I am quite sure I never wrote it in my list to begin with but hey new world new wish list '.
'I am quite sure that I am living someone's dream at the moment '.
I tried to swim but it ended with me flapping like a fish on land.
'This is going to take a while to say the least.…. Just kill me '.
It took what I think is close to half an hour or less but I got the hang of it as I finally started swimming.
I wasn't super fast or anything but I was certainly faster than with legs and combine that with super strength infinite endurance and the fact that I don't need to breathe it became slightly less of a struggle and more of me enjoying the freedom that normal humans can not enjoy I was still worried that I would keep swimming aimlessly but pink understanding of time was the last straw that made me stop worrying.
'So what if I swim for a few months? I don't age and I have all the time in the world to enjoy this experience…to think a certain red-headed princess gave up all this beauty for a Prince Charming '.
I Would Normally hate wasting time it was a habit I formed due to working a lot but a memory came to mind that made a smile form on my face my mother always said there is a difference between resting and wasting time. If you feel troubled as if the world is too heavy then there is no shame in taking a rest and if you are smiling and enjoying what you are doing even if it brings you no physical benefits even if others think you are wasting your time then ignore them.
After all, is the fact that what you are doing is making you happy not enough?
Thus with pink love for organic life and my human mind knowing that I have no better solution anyway I simply allowed myself to enjoy the ocean around me.
'Even across worlds you still find a way to help me huh?'
A very familiar face came to my mind making my smile gain a slight bitterness.
