Chapter 217 - Chapter 217 Mission Customization Artifact

Gale hadn't expected that only half a month after the Adventurer's Decree was issued, someone would complete the task of capturing Storm Drakes, and not just one, but nine.

This caught him a bit off guard; if all these Storm Drakes were handed over, it would require nine artifacts. If Venas's Storm Dragon was added, it would be ten.

Due to time constraints, Gale found some usable blueprints from his discarded designs and used them to design custom artifacts for the tasks. The reason these blueprints were discarded wasn't because the designs failed, but because the artifacts produced according to them weren't powerful enough.

Gale had always wanted to create an artifact like the eternal spear, but he hadn't had any good ideas.

These discarded blueprints were all designed by him based on equipment from the game.

He looked at the conditions for the task completers and found the blueprint for the Witchcraft Staff.

Gale collected four branches from Teldrassil to craft the staffs.

Then, using arcane crystal as the energy storage part of the staffs, he forged them together with the hammer of Kaz'goroth, and then infused Arcane Energy into three of the staffs using arcane gems, while the other staff was infused with natural energy.

Thus, the artifact staffs were completed in batches.

Gale didn't name each one individually, uniformly calling them Witchcraft Staffs.

Three of these four Witchcraft Staffs were given to the former Moon Guard, Sarona, Drathir, and Tolvasa. One was given to the Tauren Druid, Bel Frosthoof.

Gale thought for a moment and took out the five nash's eyes from his inventory. Two of them were his own, and of the remaining three, one came from Sin'dorei and two from Suramar.

Due to the passage of time, the divinity within the nash's eyes was gradually diminishing. If they were left for longer, their value would become increasingly low.

He took out the blueprint for the Phoenix Eye and then forged all five nash's eyes from his collection into orbs. The power of the hammer of Kaz'goroth made them only ankle-sized. He used ogonium to create bases, and a magic chain was attached to each base, allowing them to be wrapped around the back of the hand. This would both amplify the spell's effect and not hinder gestures.

He inlaid the nash's eyes into the bases and infused Arcane Energy into them.

Thus, the artifact off-hands were completed. The name Phoenix Eye didn't quite fit the off-hands, so Gale changed it to nash's eye.

The nash's eye was requested by the Lich Nate, and Gale planned to stop exchanging for off-hands after these five were distributed.

For the shield, Gale chose the design blueprint for the Ominous Portent. According to the blueprint, he used adamantite and refined iron to create an alloy, ensuring its defensive capabilities. Then he carved runes onto the shield and filled them with mithril and thorium.

The Ominous Portent had three massive spikes. Gale used the hammer of Kaz'goroth to fuse thorium into the spikes, enhancing their strength.

Then, Gale activated the runes, imbuing the Ominous Portent with a Thorns Aura and damage reflection ability.

The warrior Astra Silverblade from the Alpha Squad thus embarked on the path of a defensive warrior. He resigned from the Alpha Squad and became a member of the defensive warrior squad assembled by Draksa, serving as a mobile unit on the battlefield, responsible for confronting powerful enemies.

For the mage sword blueprint, Gale chose Rage of the Phoenix. He selected adamantite and ogonium as the basic materials and attempted to create enchanted source ingots.

source ingots are products of intense elemental collisions. Gale had conducted many experiments before, but without success. Later, he obtained many pillars of creation, but didn't have time to experiment.

Seizing this opportunity, Gale prepared to refine the source ingots.

Using the hammer of Kaz'goroth and the eye of aman'thul to simultaneously strike the mithril, the mithril indeed underwent a change. Like the enchanted thorium ingot, its substance was altered.

Powerful elements acted upon the mithril, making its magical conductivity better, and the elements within it possessed powerful energy. Gale then used Fire Divine Power to enchant the source ingot, and a raging fire immediately ignited on the source ingot.

Gale tried to approach, and the flames almost burned him. However, he immediately used Arcane to isolate the flames, then used the hammer of Kaz'goroth to forge and integrate it into the adamantite and ogonium.

After the sword was forged, Gale engraved runes on it. Without needing to fill them with any metal, he directly activated the runes, and flames immediately surged from the sword, enveloping the blade.

Feeling the power of the Rage of the Phoenix, Gale shook his head slightly. Although the power was already quite good, it was still a bit less than he had anticipated.

The problem must have been with the mithril; perhaps using higher-grade truesilver would be better.

However, as a batch product, the Rage of the Phoenix was absolutely qualified.

Dath'Remar and another former Moon Guard, Richard Windrunner, would become the owners of the Rage of the Phoenix.

Dath'Remar's wish was granted; not only was he promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, but he also obtained an artifact-grade mage sword. With the Rage of the Phoenix, his strength greatly increased.

However, he was not satisfied with this. He was also diligently studying Arcane Absorption and the Meridian Advancement Method invented by Gale. Only after he became an Archmage would he be qualified to realize his ambitions.

In comparison, Richard Windrunner was much less ambitious. He only wanted to treat the Rage of the Phoenix as a family heirloom. His own talent was limited, and he preferred to cultivate the next generation to become powerful mages, or to capture another Storm Dragon to leave to his descendants to become Dragon Knights.

Only Venas's reward remained. Gale found a blueprint for a pair of daggers, Phantom Dance.

The basic material chosen was shadra spike, which possessed Shadow Divine Power. Moreover, the remaining shadra spikes were curved, and with a little modification, they could be turned into scythes.

Gale also selected some nether iron and integrated it into the shadra spike. Under the action of the nether iron, the daggers became transparent.

Then Gale infused soul power into them, using the hammer of Kaz'goroth to permanently fix the divine power and energy.

He engraved Ghost Runes, which would allow the user to transform into a ghostly form, making them immune to attacks. This was a life-saving measure Gale prepared for Venas, as with Venas's current abilities, stealth and poisoning were the best combat methods; facing enemies head-on was no match.

Phantom Dance was Venas's reward for capturing the Storm Drake. Gale did not craft the reward for capturing the Storm Dragon.

He took out the suramar javelin, which had been idle and unused, and awarded it to Venas.

Venas happened to want a ranged weapon. Although the power of the suramar javelin was diminished, with Meteor Strike, it still possessed powerful penetration. Venas, being skilled in poisoning, could use potent poisons to compensate for its lack of attack power.
