Bell quickly grabbed his dagger but didn't move. He wanted to lay low, even though he wanted, he couldn't go around trying to be the hero, he was just level three but if they was one thing he has learnt in his years of playing videogames, is to play smart instead of playing hard.
Some enough, all the knights were dead, leaving Bell and about forty miners with three giant spider monsters. Bell wanted to move but he couldn't, he looked down at his legs and noticed that they were shaking.
"Stay back, I'll take care of them" A voice from the crowd spoke up and they hurriedly opened a way for him to the front. The man walked past Bell and tapped his shoulder before picking up one of the knight's sword. "I used to fight monsters like this back in my adventuring days. Their eyes are their weakness"
The heavily built man pointed the sword at the monster. "Come at me!"
One of the giant spiders immediately dashed at the former adventurer with top speed, the man suddenly got scared and dropped the sword. As soon as it's opened it maw, Bell jumped in front of it and blocked it's fangs using his dagger.
"Quickly, find a safe place to hide!" He turned and yelled at the man while trying to hold the spider.
The man silently nodded and ran to a corner. Bell couldn't hold the spider any longer as it began to shake it's head and threw him against the wall, some sand poured down from the tunnel. His dagger broke as the spider bit through it.

'The system counted that as helping?. I don't think I can kill this monsters in my current and I don't have any health potion with me, I didn't think I'll even need it. But, if can protect the miners long enough, I could level up!.'
The giant spider walked slowly to Bell and raised one of it's legs above him, his body was still weak so he couldn't move.
'Damnit, this was not what I bargained for. Being reincarnated into another world just to die in a mine but giant spiders' Bell didn't realize the tears flowing from his eyes. "I was a loser in my last life, I will not be a loser in this one. Get up!, Get up, damnit!"
Bell quickly raised he's dagger and stabbed his leg.
**BOOOOOOM**
The spider's leg stumped the ground created an explosion that made the tunnel tremble, crumbled rocks fell on the spider, but it wasn't enough to cause any serious injury. The giant spider looked underneath it's hairy leg but couldn't find and turned to see the second spider shriek as Bell forced his dagger into it's eyes.
**SHRIEK!!!!!**
Bell stabbed the second eyes before the third spider tried to pounce on him but he was able to dodge it and the spider mistakenly bit it's partner, the second shrieked even more loudly as he struggles to escape the third spider grip. The miners covered their ears and took cover as the tunnel began to crumble down on the spiders.
Bell darted towards the first spider and slide under it, using his dagger to cut the the spider from it's soft spot.

The dust slowly settled and revealed Bell sitting on the first spider while the other two spiders were buried alive under the crumbled rocks. Bell stood up and walked to the buried spiders and stabbed the spiders till they finally died.

"That was just what I was looking for" Bell picked up the health potion and drank it before throwing the bottle away.

He turned to the miners who were shaking with fear.
"Y-You defected those monsters!"
Bell suddenly realized that he just used the system in front of people and quickly tried to come up with an excuse.
"It's really not what it looks like" He said with a smile.
"You must be a hero!" The old man yelled and the rest miner started blowing down at Bell.
"A what!?"
"He's been sent to us by the goddess to save us" One after the other the morning miners began to celebrate, forgetting about the once that had died.
A mage stood at the other end of the abyss, accompanied by a dragon knight as he chanted a spell and the earth between each side of the abyss started coming closer to each other till it finally formed a new bridge.
"You can all cross now!" The female knight yelled from the other side.
The miners didn't move, instead they insist the hero walk before them. Bell acknowledge them and walked before them.
'it was a good thing I used dash, if not I would have been crushed to death' Bell thought as he walked towards the bridge. 'it looks like 1 luck was on my side'
The miners cleared a path for him as he majestically walked past them.

"I'm glad to see that you survived" Daria said over the counter as she handed a pouch to Bell. "Here's your payment, three thousand hils!"
"We were just lucky, that's all" Bell collected the money and turned to leave but Daria stopped him.
"You forgot to take this"
Daria dropped two glowing ball on the counter, there were almost the size of an adult fist and weight almost a kilogram each.
"What are those?" Bell asked as he picked one of the balls and closely examine it.
"It's a monster core. They are harvested from monsters and can be sold at the guild at hefty prices, depending on the rank of the monster. " She explained. "They wouldn't cost much since they were from E rank monsters but you can also use them for making magic items"
Bell eyes widened from shock, the thought of those monsters that cut thought the knights like they were nothing was called an E rank made him scared.
"Those monsters were E rank!?, But how were they so strong?" Bell asked.
"For starters, I heard the knights were drinking on duty"
"Yeah, but the retired adventurer, what about him!?"
"He used to be an adventurer, but he never retired. He ran away from a dungeon, he was already scared of monsters" Daria said with a smile. "Those monsters are just level eight"
"If you as me, I think those monsters are too strong for level eight" Bell examine the monsters cores and noticed something. "I thought I killed three monsters, why are there two cores?"
"The third one is being used to forge a new weapon for you" Daria replied. "It will be ready in three days. Before then, you can still work in the mine if you want"
"No thanks, I'm not planning to fight any monster again"
"Come on, where's the spirit?. You're the hero, I'm sure you can take down hundreds more"
"Nope, I'm done" Bell put his hand behind him and secretly pull out the venomous fang from his inventory. "One more thing, can you please tell the blacksmith to add this to the dagger?"
"Is that a spider's fang!?" Daria asked, bewildered. "How did you get it?"
"It was a monster drop" Bell replied, hoping she wouldn't ask any questions.
Bell didn't waste any time to leave the outpost, but he could still hear the young female knight yelling:
"I'll be waiting at where we first met in three days time~!!!"
