Item #: SCP-002
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
Due to its intangible and non-physical nature, complete containment of SCP-002 is currently impossible. Foundation efforts focus on monitoring and cataloging individuals experiencing SCP-002 phenomena (hereafter designated as "Subjects").
Foundation-operated front organizations within global healthcare and education systems are tasked with detecting reports of:
Persistent "foreign memories"
Sudden handwriting or motor skill anomalies
Residual dream recall consistent with SCP-002 events
Confirmed Subjects are to be placed under discreet surveillance. Direct intervention is prohibited unless there is evidence of Veil Protocol compromise or cross-regional anomalies with the potential for mass exposure.
Description:
SCP-002 is a recurring oneiric anomaly in which two (2) or more human individuals enter a shared dream state, resulting in a mutual exchange of physical perspectives. During these episodes, Subjects report inhabiting the bodies of their counterparts for durations ranging from several hours to multiple days.
Documented characteristics include:
Memory Retention: Subjects retain partial sensory impressions, learned motor skills, and interpersonal experiences not their own.
Physical Residue: Counterpart-specific handwriting, postures, or dietary preferences may persist for up to 72 hours post-event.
Displacement Frequency: Episodes vary in occurrence, from near-daily to multi-year intervals.
Geographic Incongruence: Pairs are often separated by significant distances, including intercontinental matches.
Potential Temporal Anomalies: Later incidents suggest SCP-002 may not be confined to spatial displacement, but could also extend across non-linear time.
No demographic, geographic, or genetic commonality has been identified among affected individuals. The underlying mechanism remains unknown.
Discovery:
SCP-002 first came to Foundation attention after reports of synchronized "identity exchange dreams" surfaced across ██ countries within a six-month span. Initial containment attempts were limited to local monitoring until handwriting samples from two Subjects were verified to originate from separate hemispheres, with matching cross-reports.
Addendum 002-A: Interview Log
Interviewer: Dr. ████Subject: SCP-002-A (female, 15, residing in rural prefecture █████, ██/██/20██)
Dr. ████: Describe the dreams you've been experiencing.SCP-002-A: They don't feel like dreams. It's like I wake up, but I'm not me anymore. Different room. Different hands. Sometimes even the sunset feels wrong.Dr. ████: How can you be sure this isn't imagination?SCP-002-A: (pauses) Because when I come back, my notebook is filled with writing I didn't do. It's his handwriting. And he says the same thing happens to him.

Addendum 002-B: Incident Report
On ██/██/20██, paired Subjects SCP-002-A and SCP-002-B (male, 17, urban residence) reported an "incomplete transition." Both experienced full sensory awareness within an environment undergoing large-scale structural collapse. Records confirm no such event occurred locally.
The Subjects later asserted the scene felt "out of place in time," suggesting SCP-002 phenomena may include temporal displacement alongside spatial transference. Investigation remains ongoing.
