Chapter 5 - Jogo vs Sukuna

BOOM

The explosion tore through the night of Shibuya.

An entire building, dozens of floors high, burst apart as if it had been made of paper. Steel split, concrete shot outward, and flames devoured the air between columns of black smoke.

In seconds, the building collapsed.

From the epicenter of the disaster, two silhouettes emerged, clashing in midair.

"Ha!"

An arrogant laugh echoed.

Sukuna floated in the night sky, his figure illuminated by the flames, while his eyes locked onto his "opponent."

"Is that all you can do, curse?!" he spat with a mocking smile.

Jogo coughed blood, his eye burning with fury and shock.

"Not… yet!"

He forced his body to stabilize, and in the palms of his hands appeared a sphere of magma, violently spinning, glowing like small suns on the verge of exploding.

"NOT YET!" He was ready to unleash everything.

But then—

Slash

A cut, faster than his sight could follow, appeared out of nowhere.

Chas

The sphere he had just formed disappeared, along with his arms, severed at the wrists.

"Ngh..?!" Terror froze in his eye as he stared in disbelief.

Then Sukuna's figure appeared above him with a cruel smile painted on his face. He clenched his fists tightly, pulled them back, and slammed them directly into Jogo's skull.

BOOM

With the blow, Jogo's head sank, and the monstrous force coursed through his body, shooting him downward.

But Sukuna gave him no respite.

He dove after him and caught up. His left hand clamped violently around Jogo's deformed head.

Boom

Both became a bullet of pure destruction that pierced through the rooftop of the building beneath them.

Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang

Each floor exploded as they passed. With every impact, concrete and steel shattered like soaked paper, walls crumbled, and the deafening echoes shook the entire district.

One floor, two floors, three floors…

The descent tore through layer after layer, leaving a tunnel of massive holes, until the entire building began to tremble as if on the verge of collapse.

Finally, a deafening crash shook the foundations.

A cloud of dust rose, covering everything in mystery.

In the deepest part, at the center of the collapse.

The moonlight barely reached through the gaping holes in the destroyed floors, and within that pale glow a standing silhouette was drawn.

Sukuna.

He stood with complete nonchalance, his hands tucked into his pockets.

"..."

He raised his chin slightly.

Under the faint light, the black markings on his face seemed even more mysterious.

A malicious smile curved on his lips.

"The moonlight illuminates everything…"

He lowered his gaze.

"…and thanks to it, I can see how pathetic you are."

In front of him, Jogo's body was half-buried in debris.

His chest heaved violently. Every breath was a tearing effort, while blood mixed with organs gushed from his mouth in streams.

At his severed wrists, the flesh writhed unnaturally, trying to regenerate.

Under the cold light of the moon, what had once been an arrogant and proud special grade cursed spirit was now nothing more than a specter of weakness, despair, and naked defeat.

"Am I as strong as a few of Sukuna's fingers?" he asked, sitting on a beach chair, looking at Kenjaku beside him.

Kenjaku brought a finger to his chin, thoughtful. "Being optimistic… maybe eight or nine."

Jogo's eye opened wide as he remembered it. Now, it seemed like a cruel joke.

'Eight or nine fingers? Kenjaku… you overestimated me.'

"..."

Sukuna, meanwhile, leaned calmly at his side.

With one hand, he grabbed him by the collar and lifted him up.

"Come on, now, hold on a little longer…" he spoke in his ear with a faint smile, "Hang on until I get tired."

Jogo's pupil fixed abruptly on Sukuna.

BOOM

At that very instant, columns of fire erupted from every opening of the building. Flames burst from the windows, from the front door, and even from the massive hole torn open in the rooftop.

And on the street in front of the building, Sukuna emerged first. An instant later, Jogo's figure appeared behind him.

"Supreme Art: Meteor!" he roared, and immediately a gigantic explosion of fire erupted, lighting up the night like the sun.

A few blocks away, Higuruma and Panda suddenly felt that overwhelming cursed energy.

!

Their bodies reacted instantly: they had to run. They moved with urgency, but they weren't alone; two enemies were following close behind.

"I wouldn't do that."

But Sukuna's voice suddenly echoed among them.

The world stopped.

The malevolent presence spilled over the four of them. Their legs trembled, air stuck in their lungs, and sweat ran down their foreheads in rivers.

With a playful tone, Sukuna spoke to them:

"All the humans in this city are forbidden to move until I say so."

"Otherwise…"

He slowly raised his head.

In the sky, a gigantic rock wrapped in flames was falling at full speed, setting the atmosphere ablaze with its descent.

The heat could be felt even before it touched the ground.

"…you will die."

Then he raised both hands, like someone preparing to clap.

His lips curved into an amused smile, and his four eyes swept over each of the four, one by one, watching the fear etched into their faces.

"Wait!"

Every pore of their skin oozed terror. Every rigid muscle trembled under Sukuna's presence.

"Not… yet…"

Sukuna savored the moment, relished the sensation of having them in his hands.

"Not yet…"

The smile on his face widened more and more, transforming into something cruel.

And just when he was about to bring his hands together—

Swish

A slash cut through the air.

Immediately, the world fell into absolute silence.

In front of Sukuna, space lit up with countless bluish-white rays, sharp and defined, spreading in every direction. Each one shone with a single intention:

To cut everything that dared to exist in its path.

!

In the middle of that storm of blades, the flaming meteor was abruptly suspended. The rock, which just seconds earlier had been descending as the promise of annihilation, was caught in that net of cutting light.

And in the blink of an eye, it shattered.

The incandescent body crumbled until it was reduced to dust and ashes, which began to slowly descend from the sky.

Like a gray snowfall, the opaque layer fell over the city, erasing the moonlight and dyeing the place in a gloomy tone.

The cruel smile Sukuna wore on his face froze instantly.

His pupils contracted violently, reflecting the curtain of dust that covered the entire horizon.

What shone in his eyes was not fear, but the fury of a predator interrupted in his feast… and at the same time, the brutal ecstasy of having finally found a worthy rival.

The frozen smile cracked and suddenly deformed.

His lips spread wider and wider, expanding into a grimace of unrestrained excitement.

"Ha… ha… HAHAHAHAHA!"

He raised his head toward the sky, and from his throat burst a laugh that grew until it rumbled through all of Shibuya.

"An incredible guy has arrived!!!"

In the middle of that wild laughter, his eyes pierced through the gray snowfall, fixing themselves high in the sky.

Up above, Damian remained suspended in the air, his left hand gripping Jogo by the nape, whose body was in pieces, his single eye closed and his arms torn off.

He only trembled from time to time, just enough to show he was still alive, while threads of blood dripped from his mutilated body.

Damian's right hand rested calmly on the hilt of his sword, while the hood of his sweatshirt, stirred by the wind, revealed white strands falling over his forehead.

With his head slightly inclined downward, he silently contemplated the ruins of Shibuya, where Sukuna laughed in madness.

His eyes showed neither rage nor emotion. They were serene, a gaze that despised EVERYTHING with absolute indifference.

Sukuna's laughter reached its peak and then, suddenly, ceased.

"..."

In that void, Damian's voice descended from above.

"Sukuna."

He did not raise his voice, but his tone traveled clearly above the howling wind.

"Entertain me."
