Chapter 10 - Mitosis: the innate cheat skill.

As I fell asleep next to the bed. I felt, proud. Not just that I stopped myself from killing someone, not just that I learned how to mimic other objects. No, I am proud that I finally took control of my situation. It was a shame that I didn't have any cheat skills or something. But what matters is that. I. Have. Control.

The next day I woke up to a knock on my door. It was Princess Shiele.

"Hello, Sin-devourer. How was your resting period?" She asked in a quaint voice. She seems to be in a good mood.

"Well you woke me up. So now I'm awake with nothing to do." I replied, annoyed.

"Well, I ordered my men to search the library, and I found a book." Shiele said, bringing me a dusty book. 'All about Mimic'. Finally, something useful.

"Thank you Shiele. Now LEAVE" I commanded. Still tired. Thankfully, it didn't take that much convincing to get her to leave.

As I read this book, I found out quite useful things that mimics can do.

Mimic innate traits

Mimics can undergo mitosis to reproduce by dividing and multiplying their cells to create a lesser copy of themselves. These lesser copies have approximately 1/3 of the stats of their creators but can undergo mitosis themselves and act as pets to the original mimic. Uniquely, they appear to level up as their originator does. Transferring half of the exp gained to the original mimic's.

"Sounds neat." I said to myself, and as soon as thought of the image of me making a smaller version of myself. I felt a sharp itch on my rear. It appears that this is all a mimic like me needs to do to create another self. And before I knew it, I created a copy of me. Except that it was about half my size.I then thought of cloning myself again. And sure enough I made another clone. But I noticed that it takes about 1/8 of my hp to clone myself so that's when I decided to make another clone.

"OK my smaller selves, you have a purpose. One of you is going to go back to the kingdom with Julina to consume more sinners. The others will hunt in the forest until you die. Also name yourselves, I'm going back to sleep." I commanded them. It is a shame, I essentially gave birth but I will never see them again, but all the better, to store more sins, and to level up and potentially gain more skills and items.

"Understood father" they all said in unison. As they then hopped away to fulfill my needs. It is quite sad to see them leave. But, I realized they are just doing what I did when I first got here. Hunt. Except they aren't hunting other mimics. Thankfully.

I then decided to make bursts of 3 clones when I think it's convenient, so maybe they can make their own clones. And eventually, I will have an army of mimics or something unlikely and hilarious like that. Just imagine.

---

Julina watched the entire thing from the hallway. She wanted to check Louki, but found out he could clone himself. She was quite shocked but trusted in her friend. And like Louki said, there is a small copy of himself in front of her. Watching

"Saint, I am here to return to the kingdom to consume sins. You may refer to me as Lank, as I am like Louki but more blank." Said the small mimic. This is great! Julina has basically her own personal Louki. She can help purify the kingdom and her friend can still do what he wants. It's a win for both of them.

"OK. Lank. Off to the kingdom." Said Julina in a cheerful voice as she picked up Lank. And then they went off back to Laarsenveld. Unaware that a certain woman was waiting there for them.

---

The other 2 mimics, who have named themselves. Bash and Brawl, rolled out into the forest nearby, consuming sticks and stones to make arrows for their ammo cache. Looking to hunt creatures, they didn't receive any instructions. So it is good enough to say that they will simply consume anything that moves. For the sake of their creator.

"Brawl. I have located a squirrel. It must be hunted." Bash told Brawl. As they spotted a giant squirrel, about the size of a crocodile.

"Bash. Thank you. I will shoot it." Brawl said. Before launching an arrow right in the Squirrel's head. It was a bloody mess. It couldn't be described.

"Brawl. I appreciate it. It appears Louki is now about a third of the way to level 10. When he evolves it is expected that we do so as well." Bash told Brawl. Smiling a toothy grin.

"I agree with you, Bash. I have located an ordinary owl. I will shoot it." Said Brawl, shooting an ordinary owl. But since it was just an owl, they barely transferred exp to Louki but they did gain a new skill, which was then given to Louki.

Owlsight: allows you to turn your head up to 300 degres.

---

I appreciate the effort my copies are making. Owlsight makes me and my hunting clones better at hunting creatures, I am already almost halfway to level 10. Then I can evolve again. As soon as I finished that thought. My intrusive thoughts spoke again.

"Keep cloning. Your clones will learn to.make clones. And those clones will learn more. Soon, we will be king" I just hope my intrusive thoughts just continue to annoy me, I have no interest in conquering.

"Shut up, intruder." I told it

"This is a good idea. No offense to you. But there is one flaw. If you absorb the sins, you have to transfer them. I'm already a part of you. Imagine the sins you will receive from the clone you sent to Julina. What are you gonna do, use a maid?" Said the Intruder. Mockingly. I wish I could KILL IT. But it is my intrusive thoughts, so a dream like that is sadly impossible.
