Ning Wei chatted with Qing Ke until it was past midnight.
When she went to bed this time, she was able to fall asleep easily. Talking to Qing Ke made her feel better. It felt as if a heavy burden was lifted off her shoulder. Knowing that Qing Ke would be supporting her no matter what she did made Ning Wei feel safer.
The next day, Ning Wei woke up naturally. She walked out of her room and saw that Qing Ke was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.
The sound of the door made Qing Ke turn. Then, her lips tilted into a smile when she saw Ning Wei coming out.
"Wei Wei, you're up," Qing Ke said. "Come over there and sit. Breakfast should be ready soon. It's going to be a long day for you. I made you some porridge. I think it will help you to last longer."
Ning Wei was touched by Qing Ke's care. She watched Qing Ke stir the pot and walked over to hug her from behind.
Qing Ke was startled by Ning Wei's sudden gesture. "What's going on with you?"
