"Just follow it. I'll pay double," He heard Levi whisper again. "They're going to the same restaurant, right? Why are people not following this route instead?"
"Yes, they are," the old driver whispered back in frustration as his knuckles went white on the steering wheel. "The road has a sharp turn to the restaurant. And now, that road is under construction! Sir, I really can't…"
Levi's face twisted into a frown. His fist clenching as he leaned forward from the back seat, ready to strike the driver unconscious and take the wheel himself.
But just as his arm tensed for the blow, his eyes caught the small, blinking red light of the dashcam mounted on the rearview mirror.
He froze, hand hovering mid-air, then slowly lowered it.
'How the fuck did I forget that.'
But before the driver could finish or notice the near-assault, the sedan and the two SUVs stepped on their gas, through a yellow light. They had left the long route to the restaurant and were now in full pursuit.
