Night had fallen, and Zed had already gone to bed early.Tonight, only Shin was accompanying him.
"Where are Skye and Lilith?" Zed asked, switching TV channels with his left hand while pulling Shin close with his right.
Shin leaned against Zed's shoulder, her hand gently stroking his firm chest muscles."Skye is still working overtime with Professor Ryoma. Lilith still has some housekeeping matters to handle. She'll probably be here in a little while."
"Mhm."Zed gave a soft hum and settled down to enjoy Rick and Morty.
Before long, the bedroom door opened quietly.Lilith walked in, carrying a glass of milk.
"Oh, no… I don't hate milk, but cola is always more appealing."Zed pursed his lips into a bitter expression.
Lilith knew exactly how to handle Zed. Completely ignoring his protest, she smiled slightly, handed the other glass to Shin, then took a sip of her own milk, held it in her mouth, and brought her cherry lips to Zed.
Who could possibly resist that?
Zed obediently drank his bedtime milk.
After settling Zed, Lilith began undressing to take a shower. While doing so, she asked:
"Professor Ryoma wants to know when construction on the World Tree Tower can officially begin. After all, we've already secured all the permits."
Zed wanted the World Tree Tower finished sooner as well, but the timing was wrong. For now, they could lay the foundation—but not truly start construction.
He reached out, brushing his hand along Lilith's beautiful leg as he explained:
"Once Thor arrives on Earth, a whole alien invasion is going to happen. And it'll be in New York! I don't want the World Tree Tower half-built and then blown up by aliens.
Let this incident pass first. Then we can focus on the Tower. And DreamTech also needs a bigger building soon."
After Lilith entered the bathroom, the bedroom was filled only with Rick's drunken burping and Morty's screaming—Zed and Shin had already disappeared.

At the same time, Coulson was standing on the helipad, waiting for Nick Fury and Maria Hill.
As soon as Nick Fury stepped off the helicopter, he spoke:
"How is it? How bad?"
"The worst part is… we don't know what happened," Coulson answered honestly.
Fury and Hill took the elevator down to the S.H.I.E.L.D. laboratory located several hundred meters underground. There, a group of scientists were performing all kinds of tests around the blue-glowing Tesseract.
"Dr. Erik, how's the Tesseract?" Fury asked, his single eye observing the "contracted" scientist.
Dr. Erik was no stranger to major scientific work, so he wasn't intimidated. He replied:
"There's something wrong with it. The Tesseract suddenly became active—on its own."
"You didn't try cutting the power?" Fury questioned.
"The Tesseract is a power source. When we cut external power, it began powering itself. Its energy keeps building up, and eventually—"
Before he could finish, Fury interrupted,"Isn't the whole point of studying the Tesseract for its energy?"
"You really don't get it, do you?"
Dr. Erik kept typing as he continued:"We aren't ready yet. And the energy it's giving off isn't the kind we usually work with—it's mostly faint gamma radiation."
"Gamma radiation? That's dangerous!"
Fury turned toward the glowing cube, his expression darkening."Where's Hawkeye?"
Hearing Fury's voice, Hawkeye slid down from the upper level on a zipline."Sir."
Fury took Hawkeye to stand before the Tesseract.
"Is Dr. Erik the problem?"
"No. No one activated the Tesseract. It really did turn on by itself."
"By itself? You're sure there's no problem?"
"Yes. And if there is… it's not on our side."
"Our side?"
"The Tesseract is a gate to the universe, right? If it's a door, then both sides should be able to open it."
Fury stared at the cube, horrified as something clicked in his mind—but at that moment, the Tesseract erupted with a blinding light, shining directly onto the platform.
Every S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the room drew their firearm, ready for the worst.
When the blue glow faded, they saw a black-haired young man standing on the platform. He wore an elegant dark-green robe, held a short spear, and carried an unsettling, wicked expression.
Fury warned:
"Sir! Put down the spear!"
The black-haired youth looked at Fury with a seductive, arrogant smile, lifted his spear, and fired an energy blast.
"No."
The spear's blast was far stronger than the agents' handguns, and bullets couldn't injure him at all. In just a few seconds, the entire underground security team was taken down.
Hawkeye dodged the explosion and prepared to counterattack, but the man seized him instantly.The spearhead pressed against Hawkeye's chest.
"You are… different. Submit to me."
Blue light bloomed from the spear, crawling through Hawkeye's veins and into his pupils, turning his brown eyes into icy blue.
Hawkeye holstered his gun and stood straight beside him.
Fury was shocked by Hawkeye's mind-control. He turned to grab the Tesseract—but the youth's voice stopped him.
"Set the case down."
Controlling several people at once, the black-haired youth warned:
"I am Loki. From Asgard. I bear a glorious mission you cannot comprehend."
"We don't have any grudge with you, do we?" Fury asked calmly.
Loki shook his head:"An ant has no grudge against your boot."
"You want to stomp us to death?" Fury tilted his head.
"Sir, he's stalling," Hawkeye loyally reminded his new master. "The base is about to explode. We'll be buried hundreds of meters underground."
"Kill him. Take the case. We're leaving." Loki ordered immediately.
Bang!
Loki, Hawkeye, Dr. Erik, and another S.H.I.E.L.D. officer evacuated the underground base, taking the Tesseract case with them.
Fury gritted his teeth as he pulled a bullet from his vest and escaped the collapsing facility.
"Hill, Coulson! Barton's been compromised. The enemy has taken the Tesseract! Initiate Level Seven Alert! Everyone not on rescue duty—move out and find them!"
...
The activated Tesseract didn't just bring Loki—it also acted like a beacon, guiding someone who happened to be passing by.
"So this is World Zero-One?"
