The heavy metal door was violently forced open, and finally, the three of them entered the U.S. military nuclear base hidden beneath the farmlands of Tennessee.
Due to the virus outbreak, the soldiers guarding the warehouse had either died or fled; the entire base had long been deserted.
Nearby survivor camps knew of this base's existence, but faced with its several-meter-thick alloy doors, their tools were completely useless.
When this kind of base was originally constructed, it was built to the highest specifications. Even Li Qingyuan had needed seven or eight missiles just to blast the door open—let alone ordinary people.
The missiles he had swindled from Obadiah had already been used up in several battles, now nearly dropping below double digits!
But for Li Qingyuan at this point, who still cared about such things?
"Is this an intercontinental missile?"
Claire looked in awe at the massive weapon stretching dozens of meters before her, reaching out to touch it.
Even ignoring its other features, the size alone was enough to terrify anyone.
If this thing went off, the area within tens of kilometers would certainly be scorched bare.
"Just take a look. This thing is useless to us. Find the warheads!"
Intercontinental missiles could strike from the U.S. all the way to Japan; under normal circumstances, they were symbols of world peace. Without them, you had no right to even talk about peace.
But in the current post-apocalyptic world, intercontinental missiles had no deterrent value at all.
Shouting "peace" at a horde of zombies—what were you thinking?
Moreover, their massive size required specialized silos and coded launch commands; they couldn't simply be used.
He had just checked—the silo in this base had already collapsed, likely destroyed by the soldiers upon receiving orders.
Without a launch silo, an intercontinental missile was just a useless hunk of metal. Even he couldn't get such a beast out.
Besides, using an intercontinental missile on the Umbrella underground base would be wasteful.
What he was looking for were miniature warheads, the kind Umbrella had later equipped for their bases.
About the size of a travel bag, but capable of destroying everything within a two-kilometer radius when detonated.
Compared to the intercontinental missile, which could obliterate a city, a miniature nuke seemed insignificant.
But this power was more than enough to obliterate an Umbrella base!
These bases were buried deep underground; even if some lucky survivor managed to avoid instant death, with supplies destroyed and energy cut off, even a tyrant couldn't crawl out from hundreds of meters below.
After a grueling search, during which they killed several lurking Lickers in the base, the three finally found the warehouse storing the nuclear warheads.
Then…
"Seriously, can you do anything? You're panting just carrying one of these?"
Claire leisurely teased Li Qingyuan, who was flushed from exertion.
She had finally found a weakness of his, and it would be a waste not to mock him a little.
The critical mass of Uranium-235 was fifteen kilograms in theory. In practice, at least double that amount was needed, plus various other materials. A single miniature nuke weighed easily over eighty kilograms!
Heavier than Wanda and Chen Ying combined.
With Li Qingyuan's strength at 5.0, he could barely lift it; without a base constitution of 15.0, it would have been impossible to carry, let alone walk a few steps.
"You're not exactly strong yourself!" Li Qingyuan said with frustration as he set the warhead down, catching his breath.
"We're lifting it together!" Claire indicated with a glance—she and Jill were each lifting one end of the nuke.
"I…" Li Qingyuan thought better of speaking. If he said he would help lift it, this woman would never stop mocking him.
A man couldn't afford to be looked down upon by a woman at a time like this.
He secretly resolved that in a few days, he would make Claire regret her teasing—he would beat her until she begged for mercy.

"Where did they go?"
Standing atop a skyscraper in Las Vegas, Alice pondered silently.
She had just exited an underground base. Although Carlos had invited her to stay there, she ultimately gave up the idea of comfort.
Jill and her boyfriend had actually gone to fight Umbrella for humanity's future—something Alice couldn't comprehend.
Honestly, since the Raccoon City incident, she had always been reactive, avoiding Umbrella rather than seeking confrontation.
Compared to the hopeless power of Umbrella, individual strength was insignificant.
Even someone like Alice had never thought of taking the offensive against Umbrella.
"Alice! I finally found you!" A sinister male voice suddenly called from behind. Alice leaped into the air, grasping her dog-leg knife.
"Don't get excited. I mean you no harm!" Dr. Isaacs, dressed in white, said with a menacing grin.
"Do you really expect me to believe that?" Alice held her weapon tightly, wary of Isaacs' sudden appearance.
She recognized him as a high-ranking Umbrella official, apparently in charge of researching the T-virus, and previously tasked with capturing her.
"I'm serious. We're in the same boat. I came to talk cooperation!" Isaacs ignored Alice's stance and immediately began recounting everything he knew.
A month ago, when Li Qingyuan revealed he was a clone, Isaacs had refused to believe it. But after cooling down, he realized it seemed true.
As the clone of the ultimate big boss, Isaacs' intelligence was high; he had never considered this perspective before. Upon reflection, he saw numerous flaws in his past assumptions.
Once he realized he, like Alice, was just a clone, Isaacs' plan became to eliminate the original and become the sole existence.
But knowing Umbrella's vast empire, he needed a partner to achieve this.
Originally, he wanted to find Li Qingyuan, but Li had already fled. So Isaacs had been wandering aimlessly, hoping to find a suitable collaborator.
By sheer luck, he ran into Alice—truly providential!
