Grace's POV
"Second job interview?"
"Yup~," Amara nodded with that smug smile I knew too well. "Mr. Benjamin was so excited to meet me again, he told me to come back today for the second round."
"Guess what we did together in his office, Sis?" Amara's voice dripped with fake sweetness.
I knew she was lying. Amara always lied when she wanted to hurt me. But the familiar knot in my stomach told me this game wasn't over.
She'd been doing this since we were kids—taking whatever brought me the smallest bit of happiness and twisting it into something ugly. All because I'd told the truth about what our father did. All because I couldn't keep my mouth shut when it mattered.
I'd loved her once. Wanted her to find success, to meet someone who'd treat her right. But life had a sick sense of humor, and this was my punishment for doing what was right.
"You won't be able to seduce him, Amara. He's not that kind of man."
