Even though I was a "child," I hardly ever caused the trouble that a boy my age would normally cause. If it weren't for that, when my mother lost her battle with illness, my father wouldn't have buried himself in work to the point where my days at home alone became increasingly common.
After hearing my words, a trace of raw emotion filled my father's eyes, and he spoke in a shaken voice,
"Let's go, Liel, let's go home. The test results won't be out until next week."
In a rare moment of physical affection, my father held my hand as we walked silently out of the hospital. His hand was calloused from spending hours working on cars, and it even had a residual smell of motor oil, showing that even after washing his hands, the smell still lingered, as if it were a natural perfume.
In that environment, with only our footsteps echoing in the hospital corridor, my curiosity turned to that system that had now been installed in my being. Now, with my father by my side, there was no better time to test if only I could see those screens, so I chanted in my mind.

While I was lost in thought, my father and I got into the car, and he began driving through the streets of central London toward our home. Somehow, those same houses, which had previously seemed like mere backdrops between one place and another, began to excite me, making me want to unravel their secrets. I had always seen strange things happening around there, but I had always attributed them to the delusions of a fertile child's imagination. But now, knowing that magic is really a big deal, everything seems so different.
Harry Potter... Harry Potter... Harry Potter..., if I remember correctly... in the memories I received from that anchor host had some things that were a little confusing, the memories from the original book were a little vague, yet there was a ton of fanfic content, but one of the things that is rarely set in stone is that Harry Potter begins in 1991, and it's still 1989, which means I'll have two years before total chaos begins..."
After a few minutes driving through the streets, we arrived home. There was still tension in the air. We had left in a hurry, mainly because of my father's stubbornness and concern. After opening the door, fatigue began to take its toll on his body. Walking through the living room, he took off his shoes in a calm movement, stepping on his heels. as he sat on the sofa and, after turning on the TV, said to me in a tired tone as he yawned.
"Liel, I know tomorrow is your first day of vacation, but as I promised, starting tomorrow I'm going to take better care of you. I'm going to teach you a little mechanics in the workshop. We're going to be father and son working on that damn bus."
My father Victor was definitely a nice guy, maybe a little rough, but caring in his own way. He always tried to do his best for everyone around him, but when my mother died of anemia, he sank deeper and deeper into work, perhaps to feel that he had a greater purpose, or simply to numb the pain. But when I started to have symptoms of anemia similar to my mother's, he had sunk deeper and deeper, afraid of losing me too. That year was difficult for him. He lost his wife to an incurable disease, and then the following year his son also began to show symptoms of sickle cell anemia.
We sat there side by side, watching a thriller on TV about a gangster who wanted to turn London into a major modern investment center. I admit that if I were a little older and didn't have magic, it would be a great role model to follow. As my father was already very tired, during the movie, he slowly fell asleep and began to snore beside me. A restrained laugh escaped me as I stared at that man snoring like a tractor. I felt a strange sense of déjà vu, with flashes of my father repairing a car, and quickly a pop-up message appeared on a semi-transparent blue screen.
