"Mira, let me remind you...the power of that dragon isn't something we can handle right now."
Rain glanced at Mira, who still wore that bright, unconcerned smile as if she didn't take the legendary creatures seriously at all. His voice , serious, warning her again.
He really didn't want her running into trouble with Acnologia while his back was turned.
Finding a dragon was already close to impossible. But… what if?
What if Mira actually got lucky enough to encounter him? That wasn't the kind of "luck" Rain could afford.
So, better to drill the warning into her head now, before she did something reckless.
"Yes, yes, don't worry. I won't mess around," Mira replied with a playful smile, nodding along.
Whether she actually took his words to heart… that was anyone's guess.
Rain sighed. "Alright then. Let's go back. It's been too long since I've seen Lisanna… I wonder how she's doing now?"
At the mention of her sister, a trace of longing softened Mira's eyes.
"Mm. Let's go back now."
Rain reached for her hand, and in an instant, the two vanished together.
Three days later—
Magnolia.
Rain and Mira appeared at the entrance of the town. Looking at the familiar streets, unchanged and bustling as ever, a hint of nostalgia stirred in their faces.
"By the way," Mira said with a small smile, "they should have already received the gifts we sent, right?"
After all, this was their homecoming. And what kind of glorious return would it be without bringing presents for their friends in Fairy Tail?
Fairy Tail Guild.
The guild hall was just as lively as always—rowdy laughter, clinking mugs, and of course, the start of yet another scuffle.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sound of fists and tables being abused shook the air.
"Excuse me, is this Fairy Tail? Is Master Makarov here?"
A delivery man stood at the entrance, voice quivering slightly.
From the bar, Makarov looked up. He had just been watching Natsu and Gray's brawl spiral into chaos. With a sigh, the tiny master leapt down, knocking both idiots flying with a single casual swing of his cane.
"Oi, oi… quiet down, brats. Can't even let an old man drink in peace."
He straightened and walked over to the door. "I'm Makarov. What's this about?"
The delivery man swallowed, sweat trickling down his forehead after witnessing the sheer ease with which the old master had tossed two battle maniacs aside.
"We're here to deliver goods… may I see your identification, Master?"
Even with nerves buzzing, he stuck to his job, motioning for Makarov to show proof.
"…Delivery?" Makarov echoed, scratching his head in confusion. Still, he fished out his guildmaster's credentials without fuss.
"Okay, Master Makarov, this is what someone asked us to deliver."
After confirming Makarov's identity, the deliveryman finally relaxed and quickly motioned to the workers behind him to unload the goods.
"???"
"???"
Not only Makarov, but every guild member nearby wore identical looks of confusion as the crates started coming in.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Box after box was hauled inside, stacked high against the bar counter. The smell of alcohol clung faintly to the air.
"This is…?"
Kana, who had been lounging lazily on her chair, suddenly snapped upright. Her eyes shone like gold coins under sunlight.
"As Fairy Tail's Goddess of Wine," she declared, practically trembling with excitement, "there's no way I wouldn't recognize that label! That's the top-tier Kuranos Vintage! Fifty thousand J a bottle… and there are so many?!"
Her voice cracked on the last word, her hands already twitching as if she wanted to crack open a crate on the spot.
"F-Fifty thousand J? Per bottle?!"
Makarov's jaw nearly hit the floor. He wasn't the only one—everyone nearby gulped hard, expressions tight with disbelief.
Two hundred boxes later, the corner of the guild was piled like a fortress made of wine.
"Please sign here, Master Makarov," the deliveryman said politely, holding out the slip. "Ten bottles per box, two hundred boxes total."
"…O-Okay. Okay."
Makarov nodded numbly, hand moving on instinct as his brain failed to process the sheer numbers.
"Alright then, if that's all, we'll be going."
The delivery team bowed and started to leave.
"W-Wait! Hold it right there!"
Makarov finally snapped out of his daze, rushing after them with his tiny legs pumping furiously. "Who sent all this?!"
"Mr. Rain and Miss Mira," the man replied with a smile. "They said it was a gift for Fairy Tail."
With that, the group departed, leaving stunned silence in their wake.
"…Rain and Mira?"
"They sent this?"
"A gift… for us?!"
The guild erupted into murmurs.
"Fifty thousand J a bottle… ten bottles in one box… that's five hundred thousand J per box… and there are two hundred boxes…" Levy muttered quickly, fingers moving as she tallied.
She froze. "That's one hundred million J worth of wine!"
The entire guild hall went silent.
Then—
"ONE HUNDRED MILLION J?!"
Everyone's jaws dropped.
Natsu's eyes bulged. "Whaaat?! You could buy, like, a mountain with that!"
Gray crossed his arms, scowling. "More like, you could pay off all your tab debts twice over. Looking at you, flame brain."
"Shut up, stripper! That's not the point!"
The two immediately butted heads, sparks flying.
Erza, however, had already walked over to the crates. She examined one carefully, her knightly expression unusually serious. "These really are authentic… and perfectly preserved. A gift of this value… Mira and Rain must have gone through a lot of trouble. We should treat it with the utmost respect."
"Respect my foot! Open it already!" Kana wailed, hugging one of the boxes like a long-lost lover. "Don't just stare at it, Erza, this is the happiest day of my life!"
Makarov's lips twitched as he watched the chaos unfold. Pride swelled in his chest—Rain and Mira, members of Fairy Tail, had sent this back. Their homecoming would be nothing short of glorious.
Still… his heart also ached at the thought of all this priceless wine being drained by his rowdy brats in a matter of days.
"Rain… Mira…" the master muttered to himself, wiping a tear from his eye. "You two really know how to spoil your family."
It was almost embarrassing to admit, but though Fairy Tail was hailed as one of the strongest guilds on the entire Ishgar continent… they were dirt poor.
Even if you added up every asset from the guild and all its members combined, the total still wouldn't come close to one hundred million J.
There was no helping it. Every time a mission reward came in, it was followed by an equally outrageous bill for collateral damage.
Broken streets, shattered rooftops, demolished towns… Fairy Tail's name was infamous with the Magic Council's accountants.
Under those circumstances, one hundred million J wasn't just money—it was an astronomical miracle.
"W-Wait," Macao stammered, blinking at the stacked mountain of wine. "Weren't Rain and Mira just on a trip? How in the world did they get this rich all of a sudden?"
"Could it be…" Erza's brow furrowed as she glanced sideways at Lisanna. "Rain and Mira are actually… secretly wealthy?"
Lisanna waved her hands frantically, looking flustered. "No way, impossible! When we were little, we were poor! We had to rely on Brother Rain to scrape by and take care of us!"
"Then how do you explain this?" Erza pressed, her serious eyes narrowing.
"I know!" Natsu suddenly slammed his fist into his palm, grinning as if he had just solved a great mystery. "He must've stolen it!"
"So that's it, huh!"
The entire guild hall turned toward him at once, and disturbingly… more than half of them actually nodded in agreement, wearing expressions of sudden realization.
Gray dragged a hand down his face. "Idiots… that's your first conclusion?!"
"Oi, shut it, ice-block. You don't know Rain like I do!" Natsu shot back, puffing up proudly.
"You don't know him at all!" Gray yelled, sparks of irritation flying.
The guild hall filled with their usual bickering, while Erza crossed her arms, lips tightening in thought.
Meanwhile, Kana had no patience for debates. Her hands were already on one of the crates, eyes gleaming with desperation. "What are you all waiting for?! We should drink it right now! What if the owner suddenly shows up and demands it back?!"
She hugged the box tightly, looking like a starving woman clutching a feast. "Come on, hurry up before it's too late!"
Makarov's mouth twitched. Watching his guild react in such absurd ways between Natsu's nonsense, Gray's exasperation, Erza's suspicion, Lisanna's panic, and Kana's sheer greed—he didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
