Spider-Man braces himself as the Green Goblin lunges, the force of the attack sending him stumbling backward. He barely manages to raise his arms in time to block the Goblin's clawed hand, the impact jarring his bones. This guy is way stronger than he thought.

Every muscle screams in protest as he absorbs the blow, the force threatening to buckle his knees.

He's too strong.

He tries to retaliate, throwing a quick jab, but the Goblin easily deflects it with a dismissive snort. The Goblin's power is on another level. He is a literal monster.

He barrels into Spider-Man, sending the web-slinger flying backward. Spider-Man slams into a brick wall, the impact knocking the wind out of him. He gasps for breath, struggling to regain his bearings as the Goblin advances, his fiery eyes burning with manic glee.

"Is that all you've got, Spider-Man?" the Green Goblin roars, his voice dripping with mockery. "I expected more from the city's supposed savior. But it seems you're nothing but a pathetic little insect, easily crushed beneath my heel!"

I can't even land a hit!

The Green Goblin's laugh echoes through the night as he reaches into a pouch on his belt, producing a small, orange, and leering pumpkin. He grins.

"Allow me to introduce you to my little friends," he says, tossing the pumpkin into the air. "They're just dying to meet you."

The pumpkin bomb soars through the air. Spider-Man's spider-sense screams. He throws himself to the side as the pumpkin detonates in a shower of sparks and searing heat. The blast singes his suit.

The Green Goblin doesn't let up, unleashing a volley of razor-sharp batarangs. Spider-Man twists and contorts, narrowly avoiding the deadly projectiles. They slice through the air where he was just standing. One nicks his arm. Another tears a hole in his mask.

This guy's got a whole arsenal!

Just when Spider-Man thinks he might catch a break, the Green Goblin summons his glider, a sleek, bat-winged contraption that hisses with barely-contained energy. He hops onto the glider.

"Now the real fun begins," the Green Goblin cackles, soaring into the air. "Time to see if you can dodge this, Spider-Man!"

He swoops down, unleashing a barrage of Goblin Fire from the glider's cannons.

"Whoa! Too hot! Too hot!" Spider-Man shouts, flipping and swinging through the air, desperately trying to evade the fiery blasts. "Is this some kind of twisted fireworks display? Because I'm not feeling the celebratory vibe!"

The Green Goblin laughs. "You think this is a game, Spider-Man? This is evolution! This is power! This is me claiming my rightful place as the apex predator!"

"Apex predator? Dude, you're a green goblin with a glider. I'm pretty sure pigeons are higher on the food chain," Spider-Man quips, firing a webline to swing away from another blast of Goblin Fire.

"Silence, insect!" the Green Goblin roars, diving toward Spider-Man. "You cannot comprehend the power that courses through my veins! I am beyond humanity! I am the future!"

"Yeah, well, the future's looking a little crispy around the edges," Spider-Man retorts, firing a webline to yank himself out of the path of the onrushing glider. "And I'm pretty sure green isn't the new black. Just saying."

Sirens wail in the distance, growing louder with each passing second.

"Oh, great, the fuzz," Spider-Man groans, glancing toward the approaching sirens. "Just what I needed. A front-row seat to my own personal demolition derby, complete with a police escort."

The Green Goblin hears the sirens too, and a flicker of annoyance crosses his face. "Insolent fools," he snarls. "They dare to interrupt my masterpiece?"

With a flick of his wrist, he sends a chunk of debris hurtling toward the first arriving police car. The car explodes, sending officers scrambling for cover.

"Hey! Cops are people too, ya know!" Spider-Man shouts, firing a webline to pull a falling lamppost away from a group of fleeing officers. "Knock it off with the homicidal demolition derby!"

The Green Goblin ignores him, seizing a nearby car and hurling it toward another group of police officers.

"Gotta protect and serve, even against my better judgment," Spider-Man mutters, swinging into action.

He dives in front of the careening vehicle, bracing himself as it slams into his body. The impact sends him crashing through the window of a nearby building, showering the street with glass.

Groaning, Spider-Man pulls himself to his feet, his body aching from head to toe. He glances back at the street to see the Green Goblin raining debris down on the police officers, who are desperately trying to evacuate the area.

"Okay, that's it," Spider-Man says, his voice hardening with determination. "Time to stop playing Mr. Nice Spider. This guy needs a serious attitude adjustment."

He launches himself back into the fray, firing webline after webline, trying to disarm the Green Goblin and protect the fleeing officers. But the Goblin is too strong, too fast, too relentless. He shrugs off Spider-Man's attacks, continuing his reign of terror with gleeful abandon.

Finally, with a brutal strike, the Green Goblin overpowers Spider-Man, knocking him to the ground. He pins the web-slinger beneath his massive foot, his fiery eyes burning with triumph.

"It's over, Spider-Man," the Green Goblin sneers, raising a clawed hand. "Your pathetic attempts to stop me are futile. I am the future. And you… you are nothing but a speed bump on the road to my glorious destiny!"

He raises his hand, preparing to deliver the killing blow, but then a small rock strikes him in the back of the head.

"Hey, ugly! Take your feet off him!" a voice shouts.

The Green Goblin turns, his fiery eyes narrowing in fury. He sees Gwen Stacy standing a few yards away, her face pale but resolute.

"You dare to interfere, little girl?" the Green Goblin snarls, his voice dripping with venom. "You have no idea what you're meddling with!"

He turns his attention to Gwen, intending to punish her for her insolence. "Time to teach you a lesson about minding your own business!"

He takes a step toward her, but then a blur of gold and white cuts through the air, interposing itself between Gwen and the Green Goblin.

"I will not allow you to harm her," a voice says, cool and composed.

Renamon stands protectively in front of Gwen, her icy blue eyes fixed on the Green Goblin.

Gwen gasps, recognizing the fox-like Digimon from her encounter earlier that evening. "Renamon?" she whispers, her voice filled with surprise.

Renamon ignores her, focusing all her attention on the Green Goblin. "You won't lay a finger on her!"

With lightning-fast movements, Renamon unleashes a flurry of attacks, her paws blurring as she strikes with speed and precision. She is a whirlwind of motion.

"Power Paw!" she cries, imbuing her paws with spiritual energy and slamming them into the Green Goblin's chest.

The Green Goblin staggers backward, momentarily stunned by the force of the attack. He recovers quickly, shaking his head and laughing.

"Impressive," he says, his voice dripping with condescension. "But your pathetic little tricks are no match for my power!"

He raises a hand, and Goblin Fire erupts, engulfing Renamon in a wave of searing heat. She flips and leaps out of the way, barely evading the flames.

Renamon retaliates with a "Diamond Storm," launching a barrage of razor-sharp leaves at the Green Goblin.

But he brushes them aside with a dismissive wave of his hand.

"Foolish creature," he snarls. "Your efforts are meaningless!"

With a brutal backhand, he swats Renamon aside, sending her crashing into a nearby building. The fox-like Digimon crumples to the ground.

"Renamon!" Gwen cries, rushing toward the fallen Digimon.

Seeing the threat to Gwen, Spider-Man strains against the Green Goblin's foot. He is starting to run out of steam.

The Green Goblin turns his attention back to Spider-Man, his eyes burning with manic glee. "Now, where were we? Ah, yes. The grand finale."

He raises his hand, preparing to deliver the final blow, but then a distorted voice crackles through his comm link.

"Norman, report immediately! Site B has been compromised! I repeat, Site B has been compromised!"

The Green Goblin freezes, his expression shifting from triumph to fury. "What?!" he snarls. "How is that possible?"

"I don't have time to explain! Get back here now! This is a code red!" the voice shouts.

The Green Goblin hesitates, torn between his desire to finish off Spider-Man and the urgency of the situation at Oscorp. Finally, with a frustrated roar, he makes his decision.

"This isn't over, Spider-Man!" he snarls, leaping onto his glider. "I'll be back! And next time, there will be no escape!"

With a final taunt, the Green Goblin speeds away into the night, leaving Spider-Man, Gwen, and Renamon behind in the wake of his destruction.

Gwen cries out, "Renamon, get up!"

Spider-Man just lays there, trying to catch his breath. He is not sure if he can get up.
