Chapter 59 - Ch.59

"What are you two doing here?" Luo Guang asked.

"I sensed that someone had put out a request using a flyer, and I knew it had to be you, Luo Guang-kun. We came for two reasons: one is to apologize, and the other is to discuss something with you," Sona said. She glanced casually at Eiko Hōzuki. "Was her curse removed? And the things in your hand... they don't look good."

"Yes, Mr. Luo Guang helped with that," Eiko, the girl with wavy hair, said. "As for the mummified arm, Mr. Luo Guang said someone deliberately left it here to strengthen the spirits. If we take it away, it might draw those people out."

"They're the Body Snatchers, the evil spirit organization that stole my mother's soul," Yayoi explained, looking at Luo Guang. When she saw he wasn't reacting, she continued. "Their abilities are very dangerous."

After the little loli briefly described what they could do, the expressions of Sona and Tsubaki changed. "They can take over someone's body and live with their memories and abilities? Does such a thing really exist?" If they were to possess important figures in the human world or infiltrate the Underworld, it would be a huge problem.

"Don't worry," Luo Guang said calmly. "While low-class devils can't stop them, they can't possess devils of middle-class or higher. Your souls aren't weaker than theirs. However, if you are killed, they can still possess the bodies of High-Class Devils. Although, they can't beat a High-Class Devil in a fight," he added.

"So, Luo Guang-kun, you plan to use the mummified arm as bait?" Sona said, her expression serious. "My familiars and I will help as well." She couldn't stand the thought of an organization like the Body Snatchers secretly infiltrating the human world without her knowledge.

Ending that topic, Luo Guang asked, "So, what did you want to discuss with me?"

"It's like this," Sona said quickly. "My familiars recently discovered that some rogue priests and Ghouls are gathering near Hachiōji. I'd like to ask for your help if necessary."

"When the Ghouls allied with the Fallen Angels in Kuoh, I worried they might have other intentions," she explained. Although she was confident she could handle the rogue priests and Ghouls, her meticulous mind told her there was a bigger conspiracy at play. So she planned to wait and see for now.

"I can help," Luo Guang nodded slightly. He had a rough idea of what was going to happen next: the arc involving the Holy Sword wielders and the Fallen Angel executive. Kokabiel had likely sent the Fallen Angel, Raynare, and her comrades to Kuoh City. Using his status as an executive, he would order the Ghoul organization, the Aogiri Tree, to be his dogs, but since the Ghoul Tatara had his own agenda, they ended up double-crossing each other.

This meant the Fallen Angel executive was coming soon. Luo Guang's first thought was the power gap between them. Although Kokabiel was defeated by the White Dragon Emperor in the original story's "plot armor," in a real-world scenario, Luo Guang couldn't estimate the Fallen Angel's strength. He could be stronger or weaker; no one could say for sure. However, since he had survived for so many years, his intelligence was likely not an issue. He had the audacity to steal Holy Swords from the Church and planned to kidnap Rias to reignite the war between the three factions. He was clearly a man with a brain.

Luo Guang knew he couldn't get complacent. But in a few days, he would be able to test out his Juggernaut Drive. At that point, whether Kokabiel was buffed or nerfed, Luo Guang was certain that he would win.

Yayoi and Eiko drove away. The two girls seemed a little reluctant to part ways with Luo Guang.

"Eiko-neechan..." Eiko, who was in the driver's seat, heard Yayoi's voice. "Do you like Luo Guang?"

"Huh?" The question made the car swerve slightly. Eiko quickly steadied the steering wheel. "I... this is only the second time we've met. It's not that fast."

"So you do like him? Eiko-neechan, I'll support you!"

"..."

On the other side, Luo Guang also left Hachiōji through a teleportation circle. Sona was about to leave when Tsubaki said, "President, you look different from before."

"How so?"

"You're smiling more, especially when you're with Luo Guang-kun. So, President, do you like him?"

Sona's body froze slightly, then she turned and looked directly at Tsubaki. "I won't deny that I have a good impression of him, but getting married is too early for me. Besides... don't just talk about me. You also have a good impression of him, right?"

Tsubaki's body stiffened. She was about to say something, but Sona cut her off. "You don't have to answer directly. After all, you still need to remember that Rias is his fiancée now."

Tsubaki didn't comment. But that alone wasn't enough to make her give up. It was common for male devils in the Underworld to have multiple wives and concubines. A small obstacle like this was nothing she couldn't overcome.
