The day of the noble consort competition finally arrived, and I was restless; I wanted to see Rosella and know how she was doing.
Seated on my throne in the werewolf arena, I waited for her arrival. My wolf paced at the edge of my thoughts because, after what happened between Rosella and me, he had refused to speak to me, and the only one who kept bothering me was Varak.
The arena was one of the most significant places in the werewolf world, built shortly after the defeat of the humans.
It was vast enough to hold thousands of werewolves and humans. Many werewolves filled the seats, and many were nobles called to be part of today's event.
"Will you stop thinking about her!" Varak shouted in my head, furious that Rosella still occupied my mind. "I get that you cannot keep your emotions in check, so kindly refrain from filling every thought with the human. You are starting to piss me off!" he barked.
"Oh shut up," I yelled at him and blocked him from replying to me.
