My whole body stiffened, standing still like a statue. One was because of surprise, two was because… Kinh Uyen, this damn person, blocked all directions. In front of me was him, behind me was the wall, both left and right were tightly surrounded, leaving me with no way to retreat.
My heart was pounding like a drum, my breathing was also disordered. Kinh Uyen stood so close that I could clearly feel his warm breath on my cheek, and smell the familiar faint scent from him seeping into my nose.
I looked up, meeting his eyes. His eyes were deep, cold and deep, and when I looked straight at him, I didn't know why my heart felt like it was being squeezed.
I flusteredly reached out to push his chest, my voice stuttering to the point that it made others laugh:
"A-you… what are you saying? What misunderstanding? Get out of the way!"
The corners of Kinh Uyen's lips curved up, his gaze turned teasing.
"Oh… is that so, young master? I thought you were talking about… that aspect."
His "that aspect" immediately made my head boil. I blushed, stammered in rebuttal, and pushed harder, but he still didn't budge:
"No! No! What nonsense are you talking about! Let me go!"
King Yuan raised his eyebrows, his lips curled up into a half-mocking, half-amused smile.
"Letting go is easy, but…"
He spoke vaguely, his hand suddenly wrapped around my waist, the force was just enough to keep me from falling, but also made me lose balance, my whole body seemed to fall into his arms. I was startled, just as I wanted to resist, his other hand lightly brushed up the back of my neck.
I stiffened, goosebumps appeared from the tingling sensation when his fingertips touched the gland at the back of my neck. He lowered his head slightly, his eyes focused as if he was examining something.
A moment later, when he saw that my glands were still normal, Kinh Uyen let go. His face revealed a hint of satisfaction, his voice returned to calm, but still had a clear smile:
"If the young master said so, I'll let go."
I cautiously stepped back, staring at him. But he just stood there leisurely, head slightly lowered, lips slightly curled, looking both hateful and... annoyingly handsome.
"Young master, are you looking at me like that... angry with me?"
I turned away in confusion, my heart still pounding. Kinh Uyen took another step forward, his eyes now filled with teasing, looking at me like a big dog following its owner, his eyes sparkling, hiding a harmless but deadly smile.
It's not that I'm afraid of him. It's not that I'm infatuated with him! It's just... I think someone like me should be magnanimous, shouldn't bother with small things.
That's right, I'm just being generous. Absolutely nothing else.
I cleared my throat, trying to regain my seriousness and said:
"I… this is the last time I'll forgive you. If there's a next time, I-"
Before I could finish, Kinh Uyen suddenly approached. The distance between us shortened in an instant, making me unable to react before his wrist was grabbed tightly and pulled hard.
I staggered, my whole body falling straight into him. My face hit that firm chest with a small "thud" sound, and I almost suffocated in his masculine scent.
I tried to pull my hand back, but the more I struggled, the tighter he held me.
"You… what are you doing?!"
Kinh Uyen leaned down slightly, his breath blowing lightly beside my ear, his voice so low that it made my back numb:
"Young master said that… do you still want a next time?"
"What next time?!" I almost shouted, my face burning, both embarrassed and confused.
Kinh Uyen looked at me, his eyes stopped at my lips for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled lightly. That smile… was both gentle and made one want to punch him in the face.
He let me go, as if nothing had just happened. I was still stunned because I hadn't understood what was going on, when he returned to his usual serious expression:
"It's time, young master, go down for lunch."
He finished speaking and then calmly left.
It took me a few seconds to come to my senses, and then… my anger flared up. I shouted loudly:
"Kinh Uyen! Stop there for me!"
He clearly heard the soft laughter from afar, but he still pretended to be deaf. I was furious, and quickly chased after them, the two of them bickering all the way down the hallway.
Only when we reached the dining room did I sit down, panting. While eating, I glared at him:
"Hey, do you know where my parents are?"
Kinh Uyen replied calmly as if nothing had happened:
"I had something to do so I went out."
I said "oh" and bent down to continue eating, trying to ignore it. But after a few minutes, I felt someone approaching from behind.
Before I could turn around, his familiar deep voice rang out next to my ear:
"Are you free this afternoon, young master?"
That question, accompanied by that faint smile, made me instinctively answer:
"Nothing at all…"
"Good," he smiled, turning away
"Then young master, eat well. I'll go do some work."
I raised my head to watch his figure disappear. I suddenly felt strange.
Today… he smiled a lot. But why do I keep feeling… something is not quite right.
