"I swear now! I'll swear like you southerners do! That man I captured taught me this! I am Hama! In! In the sight of the gods, I pledge my loyalty to my Lord! Is that enough? Is that enough? I don't want to die! Save me!"
Doghead Hama shouted with all her might, truly terrified. She looked like a drowning person, desperately clutching at a lifeline, unwilling to let go. So, she frantically expressed her loyalty.
Doghead Hama was the leader of a large raider tribe. She was agile, a fierce fighter, and exceptionally ruthless. She was most skilled at fighting and climbing with an ice pick. In the TV series, she was terrified by the Wights and ultimately died at the hands of several Wight children. (This character is not based on the original novel.)
Now, this unknown threat of death reminded her of her miserable childhood, when she had to fight with dogs for food. The terrifying looks that wanted to devour her, she could not forget even now!
Back then, Hama had secretly told herself that if she wanted to survive, she had to be more ruthless than a starving dog. Therefore, she had always lived by this principle.
But now, facing this terrifying situation where even death offered no escape, the monster of fear in her heart had also awakened, slowly devouring her pride and courage. All that remained was her longing for survival!
As Hama knelt, some wildlings who shared her thoughts began to kneel and swear oaths as well. Some of them might only be seeking to survive, while others might be trying to take advantage of the situation to seize Hardhome. However, from the moment they knelt, they had already abandoned their proudly held free will!
"From the day you swear your oaths, you are my people! I will always protect you, until you break your oaths!"
The sound of eagles' cries echoed through the sky, followed by Marco's voice descending from above. Everyone looked up, and they were instantly stunned!
A massive, humanoid phantom suddenly appeared in the sky. Its face was obscured, but its enormous, outstretched wings deeply shocked all the wildlings!
As the Guardian Angel appeared, golden energy rapidly spread outwards. The blizzard that had been battering everyone also weakened, eventually disappearing completely.
Ever since Marco obtained the "Guardian Angel" special ability, his control over the "Blessing Ritual" had grown stronger, and it had become increasingly easy for him to use.
Swan, the griffin, carried Marco down from the sky. The other sixteen griffins landed below the wooden wall. The strange appearance of the royal griffins frightened the surrounding wildlings, causing them to step back. Swan let out a dissatisfied cry, and the griffins with him joined in!
They seemed displeased with the humans' timidity and rudeness. Marco instinctively reached out to scratch Swan's head to soothe him, but realized he was only touching a cold, iron helmet.
So, he used the soul link to issue them the order to attack freely. Swan let out a happy cry and led the griffins to support Godric and the others.
The knights' powerful attacks inflicted heavy losses on the Wights' army and relieved much pressure on the wildling troops at the front lines. With the griffins' addition, the Wights' losses continued to mount. Diving down from the sky, the griffins could instantly knock the Wights over, breaking their bones and tendons!
Marco walked over to Mance Rayder, who, along with the clan leaders behind him, instinctively took a step back.
They seemed to be somewhat afraid of Marco. Things like wizards and magic had always been both desired and feared by people. The Marco standing before them was entirely different from the wizards they knew, making everyone instinctively wary of him!
Marco raised his hand gently. Those in front of him were frightened and retreated a few steps. Then, in the astonished gazes of the crowd, a longsword burning with flames suddenly appeared in Marco's hand, leaving everyone dumbfounded.
Marco planted Flame Tongue in front of him and asked Mance Rayder:
"Mance Rayder! The newly crowned King-Beyond-the-Wall! Do you know what this sword is?"
Mance Rayder stared at Flame Tongue with a dazed look. Then, as if he had thought of something, he shook his head and said:
"'Lightbringer' is just a legend. A red priest from King's Landing has a flaming longsword. You! You! What are you trying to say?"
His words were filled with disbelief, but as a "free folk," his pride prevented him from admitting everything he had just witnessed.
Marco ignored him and continued, saying,
"If I hadn't appeared, the future you would have commanded a massive army. You would have marched south to attack Castle Black. But just as you were on the verge of victory, reinforcements from the south would have arrived and struck. Your vaunted army wouldn't have lasted long against them. Many of your warriors would have died or fled, and you would have been captured, only to have an arrow pierce your heart!"
Marco's words seemed to possess an eerie magic, each syllable conjuring visions in the minds of those around him. The scenes played out in their minds as if they had lived through them themselves!
The faces of several tribal leaders grew increasingly grim, as if they were frightened. Especially the leader of the Thenn, who was somewhat devastated to see that he couldn't even withstand a single blow from the Others. He never imagined that his vaunted strength would be so utterly useless against them!
Marco had recently been studying Valyrian Blood Magic, a type of illusion magic that Brynden Rivers had taught him. This former Lord Bloodraven had used it to extract information and groom his confidants, which earned him the peculiar nickname "One Thousand Eyes and One"!
Seeing that he had achieved his objective, Marco stopped casting the spell. This magic only worked on people who were pessimistic and despairing, and its effectiveness would diminish after repeated use, even backfiring.
Marco raised the flaming longsword in front of him and declared to everyone,
"Now! Let me lead you towards a brighter future!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Marco vanished before everyone's eyes. After a flash of golden light, he reappeared in front of the wildling warriors. With a swing of his "Flame Tongue," he set the nearby Wights ablaze. The scorching flames spread outwards, igniting many more Wights, causing those around them to instinctively move away from Marco.
Next, Marco opened his spellbook and selected the only area-of-effect attack spell in the light magic category, "Holy Word of Light"!
A giant energy figure suddenly appeared before everyone, and a holy song echoed continuously in the sky. The holy sounds were constantly gathering energy, while the Wights retreated under their masters' orders. Marco seized the opportunity and activated "Teleport" once more!
He appeared directly in front of an Other, and with a single sword strike, he cleaved the Other and its horse into ice shards. Then, Marco once again cast "Holy Word of Light" above his head. This spell had barely manifested when the previous one unleashed its terrifying power. The intense impact forced all the Wights to retreat a few steps, and the ones closest to him turned into piles of black ash.
After hacking down a few Wights that tried to attack him, Marco prepared to use "Teleport" to leave, because he realized he was surrounded by Others.
It was the first time Marco had seen so many Others, nearly fifty of them. They were constantly driving the Wights to attack him, seemingly trying to kill him.
"Something's not right! "
Realizing something was amiss, Marco immediately prepared to cast a spell, but when he opened his spellbook, he found he couldn't use "Teleport"!
However, Marco wasn't too surprised. Once the "Holy Word of Light" erupted, these creatures would turn to ashes. Instead, he turned his gaze to the Others slowly approaching him. In just a few seconds, the Wights had formed seven spiral arcs around him, with Marco at the center of the "Vortex."
After another swing of his sword, eliminating the Wights that got close, Marco tried to move, but found his feet felt like they were caught by something!
Marco immediately used "Elemental Sight" to sense his surroundings, and realized that the "Vortex" forming around him was real, and was continuously absorbing all kinds of energy!
Damn! I got a little too cocky! These guys seem to have figured out how to deal with me!
Marco thought to himself, not expecting that the always-effective "Holy Word of Light" would be turned against him, used to ambush him with its own destructive power.
These Others were placed here intentionally by the Other leader hiding in the shadows. The goal was to lure Marco in. Marco could sense that the energy gathering beneath his feet had become the cold and chaotic power of the Others.
This energy was inherently opposed to light magic. Once they clashed, a massive energy explosion would occur. It seemed that after their last battle, the enemy had studied Marco's power, and thus came up with this bizarre magic array.
Marco opened his spellbook and tried to use "Magic Purification," but found he couldn't. The system提示 had told him that he wasn't affected by any magic, and therefore couldn't purify anything.
Marco tentatively tested the "Rot Curse" again, but he found that after the magical energy fluctuations appeared, it was immediately absorbed by the "Vortex" beneath his feet.
Marco, refusing to believe it, then used "Lightning Bolt." The suddenly appearing magical energy immediately went wild, nearly striking Marco. Gritting his teeth, Marco activated the last page of his Light magic and cast "Holy Word of Light"!
This powerful level 5 spell broke free, appearing directly above Marco. However, it only lasted for a moment before both "Holy Word of Light" spells were pulled down by the strange power of the vortex.
BOOM! The terrifying energy erupted!
A small mushroom cloud suddenly appeared where Marco and the others had been. The powerful impact exploded outward, unleashing a terrifying light force that spread everywhere. Ultimately, Marco's "Holy Word of Light" prevailed, and all the Wights and Others in the area were turned to ash!
Before the energy erupted, Marco had also activated the second level 5 Light magic icon, "Rebirth"!
After the explosion's smoke cleared, a massive, deep pit appeared before everyone's eyes. Before they could react, a dazzling, giant ball of light, like the sun, appeared directly above the wildling warriors.
At this moment, Marco was completely naked, with golden light constantly swirling around him, as if he were wearing a golden robe!
"Damn it! I was hoping to show off! Instead, I just ended up showing my ass! I was even planning to try out 'Rebirth' on a dead person someday, but who knew I'd be the first test subject!"
Marco was in a terrible mood. This wasn't the outcome he wanted. But facing the Others' bizarre magic circle, he had no choice but to use "Rebirth," a spell he'd never tested, even though the system had said it was usable on the host.
Luckily, the spell actually worked. Otherwise, Marco would have really screwed up today. Still, he couldn't escape the "true dragon mooning" rule. After slowly descending from the sky, he could only accept the wildlings' worship while completely naked!
His flowing silver hair danced in the wind, and a flash of golden energy occasionally flickered in his purple eyes. The sunlight rising from the sea shone directly on Marco, making him look dazzling.
Brynden and Wolf Fang on the wall also knelt down like the wildlings outside. In their hearts, Marco had always been the embodiment of invincibility. When the explosion happened, their hearts had skipped a beat, thinking something had gone wrong!
But just as the two of them were getting emotional, a voice suddenly echoed in their minds.
"What the hell are you two excited about? Get Swan to bring me some clothes, quick!"
The naked dragon king roared at his two trusted subordinates, his heart filled with a murderous rage.
"This is definitely a curse! Why do I have to go through this, FU*K!"
Marco's face was expressionless, but he was cursing inside. He used to laugh at Jon and Daenerys when he watched the show, always mocking them for showing their asses and embarrassing the Targaryen family! But he never thought that one day, such a misfortune would befall him!
After only a little while, the griffin Swan flew over with the clothes. Seeing there was no escape, Marco had no choice but to put on his clothes in front of the many wildlings. Then he said to the people in front of him:
"Since you have all decided to submit to me, then I am now your lord. I will give you protection and ensure you have enough to eat and wear. I don't need anyone to kneel to me at any time; what I need is your loyalty and courage, use them to build a powerful empire for me!"
