Sajid repeated after Annaya and chanted the language of jinns. He knew the chant was meant to communicate with the jinn, but he did not know what he was saying. As Sajid was chanting, the altar and the surrounding place lit up with black fire, and a gloomy environment was starting to settle in the temple.
Above Sajid's head, there was a cloud of black clouds, and suddenly, Sajid was isolated from everything. He was still standing at the altar, but everything else was darkened out. He could not see anyone but himself. Sajid was panicking, but then he heard a deep, ancient voice in his head.
The jinn, Jinn of the Ravenous, was talking to him. Strangely, Sajid could understand what the Jinn was saying. The jinn was saying he was an interesting being, as the jinn could sense that he had no soul. Sajid Panicked, thinking now that the jinn had figured out his secret, he was gonna tell the villagers, and it would bring him lots of trouble. But contrary to his expectations, The Jinn said he would do no such things, as if The Jinn could hear his thoughts. That was pretty horrifying to Sajid.
The Jinn then asked why he was at the altar since the Jinn's power did not bind him, and he could have run off at any moment from the village. Sajid said that he wanted to learn combat and gather knowledge about his upcoming journey, and he wanted to learn about mysticism. The Jinn felt amused. The Jinn then said something that Sajid did not expect. The Jinn said that he was not aware of his condition.
Sajid did not understand what the jinn was saying. Then the Jinn offered him his powers, and this time, the Jinn's powers will truly bind him to the Jinn, the Jinn said. The Jinn also told him that the powers he will receive vary from others since his power reflects what a person hungers for more than anything. Every person who receives their power varies. But a very few could truly understand his powers and how they could use them effectively.
Then he proceeds to say that accepting his powers will come with very adverse risks. But the Jinn did not clarify what risk Sajid should be aware of. Sajid then asked the Jinn, since he is not bound by the Jinn's power and could run off anytime he wants from his village, why was he giving him the choice of accepting his powers.
The Jinn was amused and then laughed. The Jinn said that only time will answer all his questions. Sajid was now left in the void with pitch black surroundings. There was nothing in this state, not even air. Sajid questioned the Jinn's motive as to why the Jinn was interested in him and why the Jinn was willingly ready to give him a portion of his powers. Sajid realized that there was something in him that the Jinn wanted.
But Sajid could not figure out what the Jinn wanted. Sajid needed all the help that he could get in these strange times, so Sajid decided to gamble. Sajid decided to accept the Jinns' power and dealt with the consequences when that came. For now, he needed those powers. So Sajid told the Jinn that he was willing to accept his powers. No sooner had he said that than he heard the Jinn's excited voice in his mind, and a cloud of black smoke suddenly emerged from the void and entered his body.
As soon as the cloud of black smoke entered his body, He lost control of his body and lost consciousness. He had a dream in which he was in a strange city, where the architecture of the city was unlike anything he had ever seen. The whole city was floating along with all the houses and roads. The people here were wearing strange dresses with a black Tajbi around their necks, and all the people had two horns growing out of their necks. Their skin also varied from person to person, like some had snake skin, while some had leopard skin.
Sajid was in what looked to him like a town square. Sajid was watching all of these with curiosity. But then Sajid heard someone calling him, and this calling was coming from his very being. Sajid responded to that call and started walking, relying on his instinct. Finally, it looked like Sajid reached his destination. Sajid was standing outside a home that very much resembled his own home in his memory. Sajid entered the house.
What was in the house was something Sajid thought he would never see again. Inside the house was the same reaper that had attacked him that day, and also, coincidentally, helped him realize the reality. Seeing the reaper inside the house, Sajid's mind went blank. Sajid had so many questions for that reaper. But he could not process any thoughts in that moment. Sajid also forgot his fear of the reaper at that time.
Seeing his bewildered look, the reaper shook his head and invited Sajid to enter the house and make himself comfortable. Sajid did as he was told and took a seat on the sofa. The reaper then sat opposite him and looked him in the eye. The reaper asked if he had any guesses about who he was and who he was.
Sajid already guessed the reaper's identity and told him that he thinks he was the original version that was sacrificed that day, and Sajid is an echo of him. The reaper smiled and told him that his guess was correct. Sajid then asked what happened that day and why his memories only started from the massacre day, and why he could not remember anything past that point.
The reaper told him that he was never supposed to live beyond that day, and a new version of his echo would be born and repeat the same cycle as him. Sajid was an anomaly, and the reaper pointed to himself, saying it was he who helped him escape.
