I woke to an agonizing headache and to extreme aches on every part of my body. The length of my skin was also covered in purple and black bruises and I immediately understood what it meant as soon as I saw them.
The triplets had gone at it again with Chalice.
They'd made love to her despite all my warnings, and that in itself pissed me off more than anything.
Angrily, I shoved the blanket off my body but as soon as I rose from the bed, my knees gave out. I crashed to the floor with a loud thud, my forehead smacking against the side of my bed as I went.
"Owww!" I groaned, screaming out the dirtiest line of profanities I could think of and cussing out at the triplets for doing this to me.
And goddess it wasn't enough.
It wasn't enough to calm the storm of anger raging in my heart. Not enough to dull the overwhelming ache in my chest and head. And not enough to calm that thing… that weird darker thing now growling fiercely somewhere in my mind.
