"Of course," Alpha Kane grumbled. "I've sent many of my warriors from other cities here; some of the best are already on their way. From what I hear, they're ahead of schedule."
"Kate…" I began, but Alpha Kane cut me off with a low growl.
"I'll deal with her when this is all over."
"She might not have known. They might have let it slip, knowing she was planning to escape." I ran out, narrowing my eyes as I approached the house. "They might have planned all this to gain an advantage."
"Or Kate could be a spy," Alpha Kane snapped.
"She could be." I agreed. "But first, we need to hear her out."
Six figures stood in front of the house, four of them dressed in dark, their postures tense and frozen. My pounding heart sank as I caught sight of the grim faces of Ryan and Sophia. The lights were on in the house, and from a distance, I could see the worried face of my dad peering out the living room window.
