Meanwhile, in the depth of the ocean the absence of the two children had been noticed. Their absence was noticeable because Sapphire is the kings first child and daughter also making her the possible heir to the throne.
While Zamiel's parents were searching for him, a servant informed them of their little escapades.
Without hesitation Zamiel's father king Simon swam to the neighbouring kingdom to confirm if it was true, if Sapphire's father king Calhoun knew about it.
But Calhoun knew nothing about it.
Immediately, he sent some of his servants to go and for the children.
Meanwhile, at the river bank, the fishermen were more than shocked.
"Are these mermaids or sirens?". John asked.
"Kill them". Some of them shouted .
"No don't kill them. I think we should capture them and sell them for a good price". George suggested.
"Capture what?, do you know how dangerous these creatures are?" . John asked.
"We don't even know the species they belong ". One of them said terrified.
While they were contemplating what to do, Sapphire's sense of security turned high and Zamiel was transitioning back to human.
When the humans made an attempt to catch them, Sapphire's nails grew long and she started fighting them with all her might.
"These creatures are dangerous and for their age their are really strong except their deceiving us with their look". John exclaimed .
" I think it's best if we kill them".
One of the fishermen quickly went to retrieve a knife.
"Which one of them should we kill first?". A fisher woman named Helen asked.
" Let's kill the female one first as she seems stronger"
They both made their way towards Sapphire.
While fighting Sapphire made signs for Zamiel to get back into the water.
And he shook his head saying can't do that since it was his idea to swim to the surface of the water, he has to face the consequences.
When the two humans raised the dagger to stab Sapphire while she wasn't looking, Zamiel came to stand in front of he and took the knife. Everything went still. The fight that ensued stopped.
Sapphire's eyes widened and she quickly rushed to his side and knelt beside him. He was bleeding profusely.
' Zamiel, please hang in there'. She pleaded disbelief and tears clouding her eyes.
The servant who were sent to search for them surfaced and their eyes widened at the sight infront of them.
They quickly rushed out of the water and transformed.
"Holy shit, we are in trouble". Helen said scared.
"Fear not, they're are no match for us ". George said puffing his chest.
They all engaged in a fight and the sea creatures killed all the humans sparing none.
Sapphire needed to get Zamiel into the water before it is too late because her people her people and his people would not accept him in his human form but she also wondered if he would be able to handle the transition in his current state.
Sapphire was too weak and shocked to do anything.
The servants caried Zamiel gently to the water.
