By the time Dydra's vision finally cleared, she found herself back in the cabin. She blinked several times, trying to make sense of her surroundings, before realizing that Leonard was sitting beside her on the bed. His attention was fixed entirely on her, his expression carrying concern.
"You're awake," he said.
He reached behind her and helped her sit upright against the headboard.
Dydra rubbed her temples, still trying to shake off the lingering sensation of being somewhere else. "How long was I gone?"
She wasn't certain whether her entire body had been transported into the vision or whether only her spirit had been drawn into the past. Whatever had happened, the experience had felt far too real to be dismissed as an ordinary dream.
"Not more than an hour," Leonard replied.
He reached toward her and gathered a few loose strands of her hair between his fingers, idly playing with them while his gaze remained fixed on the strands.
