Chapter 50 - A little talk and torture

Every vampire has super speed and strength, whether or not they had the blood of the first vampires. This was the gifts they use to rule over the other creatures on the earth. And with such gifts they were able to form kingdoms, with it's people serving them as their ruler, with some knowing what they are, with some not knowing.

The crown prince reached into his pocket and brought out the vial. For the content in the vial to reach her, he would have to throw it at her. But that was too risky. So, by using one of the many gifts a vampire possessed, he plan to reach her without her knowledge. And that gift happened to be super speed.

Before Theashee could draw in air, Leonard moved from where he was, going to stand before her, and smash the vial on her face.

The liquid slashed all over her face with a sharp burn. A red-looking rash pushed out of her dry skin and she screamed in utter pain.

"AHHH!" It felt as though acid was poured on her face. It stung her greatly and her palms went to her face, as she fell on her knees. The vines pinning the prince's men on the tree slowly loosen and they fell on their feet. It took a while for them to catch their breaths, as the vines was also wrapped round their throats.

Leonard didn't waste time and ordered his men. "You three go find our horses, I would like to have some alone time with this here." The men didn't argue and did as the crown prince's said. Leonard squatted down, as his midnight eyes stayed on the witch.

"Theashee," he called, catching her attention. The severe sting she felt on her face decreased, and her palms left her face. She felt lightheaded afterwards. Her vision was clear, but it felt as though every bone and every nerve in her body was being yanked by a large anchor. She couldn't move, it was as though she was paralyzed. Her eyes shot daggers at the crown prince, as she realized it was his doing.

Leonard was not bothered by her glare, and went straight to the questions.

"A werewolf bit my father, The King. Are you aware of this, dear?" His voice came out smooth, as his eyes never left hers. Theashee looked away from him, unwilling to answer his question. The corner of Leonard's lips pulled in a sninster smile, and he stood to his feet.

"The formula in that vial thrown on your face, is one that paralyzes witches...forever." That wasn't true but the witch was not aware of that, and a share of panic passed through her eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, as the thought of being in one spot forever didn't seat well with her. She was already traumatized, knowing she couldn't ever leave the forest, and she wasn't ready to jump from fire to lava by being in one position for the rest of her life.

She bit her inner cheek and said softly. "I am aware of the werewolf biting the King." It showed in her tone that she doesn't want to snitch, but what choice does she have?

Leonard had a satisfied look on his face, as he continued. "There is a barrier shielding this fine kingdom from the werewolves, and there is no way a werewolf could get through the barrier, without the help of a particular shrine witch. Isn't that right Theashee, dear?"

Theashee drew in multiple deep breathes, as she answered. "It is right."

"Mmm," he hummed, going to rest on a tree close to him, "how was the spell performed?"

"I channelled the powers of my sisters you cruelly killed on these very grounds." Her eyes shot daggers at it, as she felt a lump in her throat. The spell wasn't an easy task, and she almost lost her life. But Theashee didn't care as long as she could hurt someone related to the crown prince responsible for her suffer.

"And how did you obtain such knowledge?" Through all this, Leonard's voice was as still as the lake. He was aware that Theashee couldn't have such knowledge of her being able to channel the powers of her late sisters, without using it to lift the spell that binded her to the forest. She had help from very powerful people outside. Him already being able to pinpoint who the people were, but he wanted to know how. They couldn't possible come to the forest themselves, there must be a middleman.

"A masked man came to me with this information. He didn't need to bribe me in anyway, when I found out it was related to you." Her lips pulled up in a sinister smile. "The King wouldn't make it through this winter. How does that make you feel, huh?"

Leonard rolled his eyes at her question, waving if off like the joke of a silly kid. The witch was confused by this. Doesn't he care about his own father? Was that how cruel the crown prince was?

The three guard returned with the horses just in time, and Leonard pushed himself off the tree. He made his way to his steed, stroking its temple softly. Without saying so much as a single word to the witch or sparing her a glance, he mounted his horse. The three men followed suit. With a light kick from the side, the horse sprintered into motion, with the others following just a second after.

Panic filled Theashee's eyes as she watched them ride away. Didn't he say he would give her an antidote? Where the heck was he going?

"Hey! HEY!!" She yelled at him, but he was already out of sight. "Bloody hell! You son of a b*tch, get back here! Don't leave me here like this!"

Leonard heard her voice fade away with ever sprint from his horses. The formula was going to wear off in few hours. He could have told her that, but the crown prince saw no fun in that.

Saving himself the trouble, Leonard could have simply taken the witch to the royal palace and have her confess there. But with the deceitful nature the witches have, the court room will not believe him. He has to find the middle man.
