Chapter 235: Ultra Recon Squad
Let's rewind to a month ago in the Ultra Ruin space.
Gladion and Sophocles looked at a group of Guzzlord. Gladion said with a headache, "So many Guzzlord, what are we going to do?"
"Gladion, please. I'm not good at fighting. You can ask me to develop gadgets, but fighting is a bit much," Sophocles said.
"Ah! Silvally! Fairy Memory!" Gladion sent out his Silvally and simultaneously shot a pink disc at it.
The RKS System on the side of Silvally's head opened, and the Fairy Memory flew into it. After the RKS System closed, Silvally's crest and tail fin turned pink. Gladion shouted, "Silvally, Multi-Attack!"
A pink aura appeared on Silvally's body, and then Silvally pounced directly on the Guzzlord. The Fairy-type attack dealt four times the damage to the Guzzlord.
"Lucario, Aura Sphere!" Gladion sent out another Lucario.
Lucario pushed forward with both hands, unleashing countless small Aura Spheres towards Guzzlord. The Aura Spheres struck Guzzlord, only knocking it back a step. There was no way around it; Guzzlord's size was simply too enormous. Compared to them, Gladion and the others were just tiny ants. Standing over five meters tall with a massive HP stat, Guzzlord was a true tank, or rather, a wall of flesh.
Gladion's attacks were merely tickles to them.
"We can't win, retreat," Gladion said decisively.
He recalled Lucario, mounted his Silvally, and with Silvally carrying Sophocles, quickly fled the scene.
Guzzlord didn't seem to care much when the little insects ran away. After all, in their hearts, nothing was more important than eating.
With the help of Silvally, Gladion and Sophocles quickly escaped Guzzlord's range. Sophocles looked at the roadside, pondered for a moment, and said, "Turn left at the next intersection."
Gladion hesitated for a moment, then followed Sophocles's advice and turned left directly at the next intersection. They hadn't run far when Sophocles shouted, "Stop!"
Gladion quickly made Silvally stop, and Silvally released Sophocles, allowing him to finally land. He walked to the roadside and pushed open the door of what looked like a restaurant.
Gladion said speechlessly, "What time is it? Are you planning to eat something before you leave?"
"Idiot!" Sophocles said, "Don't you find this place familiar? I'm a regular at this malasada shop! Otherwise, why would I have brought you here?"
Gladion looked around, a sense of familiarity washing over him. He said uncertainly, "Is this Hau'oli City?"
"Ding-dong, correct answer. But no reward," Sophocles said. "But why is this Hau'oli City? Shouldn't this be some other world? But these familiar roads, familiar shops... I remember this shop has a basement, used to store food and some tools for making malasadas."
As Sophocles spoke, he entered the shop and opened a small storage area. There were two handles on the floor of the storage area. Sophocles pulled the handles up forcefully, along with the floor tiles.
"There really is something there, and the food inside isn't contaminated; it's safe to eat," Sophocles said.
Gladion frowned and said, "If this is Hau'oli City, then what about Hau'oli City in the Alola region? I'm a bit confused."
"Sigh. What's the use of being strong? Gladion, you're really no match for Lillie in this respect," Sophocles shook his head and said. "This should be a parallel universe. But this space has clearly become a post-apocalyptic world, with no trace of humans, only a large group of Guzzlord."
Gladion was speechless at Sophocles's words. He said helplessly, "If this is a parallel universe, then can we leave Melemele Island and go to other islands to avoid these Guzzlord?"

If I'm not mistaken, this space is limited, confining these Guzzlord to such a small area, preventing them from escaping. This space is like a cage, specifically for imprisoning these Ultra Beasts. Sigh, I understand why these Ultra Beasts went to Alola, it's like a prison break," Sophocles said.
"That makes things difficult. We have to survive among these Guzzlord to wait for Ryan to come and rescue us. Sigh, if I were stronger, I could defeat all of them and things wouldn't be so complicated," Gladion said.
"Let's use this place as our base for now. We'll move on when the Guzzlord arrive. I just noticed that the Guzzlord move very slowly. With Silvally around, as long as they don't attack us, we can easily survive here," Sophocles said.
Gladion thought for a moment and said, "Okay. But I still plan to train a bit. There are so many Guzzlord here to battle with. I want to defeat one of them and capture it through my own efforts!"
"Yes, yes. Then work hard," Sophocles said. "I'll first see what tools I can use to modify this place and make an air purifier. Otherwise, relying solely on gas masks won't be enough. We only have ten gas masks, five per person. If we run out, we'll have to face the terrible air. Making an air purifier is urgent!"
"Okay. Tell me what you need, and I'll go find it," Gladion said.
Sophocles nodded and told Gladion what tools he needed. Gladion rode his Silvally to some tool shops to look for them. And Sophocles, as expected of someone with high technical skills, made some tools very quickly. With enough tools, he made an air purifier in just two days.
This air purifier was electrically powered, and since Sophocles was a trainer specializing in Electric-type Pokémon, and all six of his Pokémon were Electric-type, the air purifier quickly became operational.
A week passed. One day, Gladion found a lone Guzzlord, commanding his Silvally in battle. Just then, an Ultra Wormhole appeared in the sky.
Gladion was immediately excited: Ryan had come to rescue them!
But when he rode his Silvally to the location of the Ultra Wormhole, Gladion was stunned. The two people who appeared were not Ryan and Lillie, but two very strange individuals. They were dressed in white protective suits, wearing visors with narrow slits and helmets.
One was a man, the other a woman. The taller male asked, "Who are you? Why are you in Ultra Space?"
"Who are you?" Gladion asked.
"Us? We are the Ultra Recon Squad!" the petite girl said earnestly.
