Chapter 12 - When the house breathes darkness

I entered my house with slow steps, the door closing behind me as if it had severed me from the entire world.

No sounds… no life… only cold walls breathing with me in the same silence.

I took off my blood-stained coat and threw it on the floor, then walked toward the table.

I sat down, my hands trembling, my eyes fixed on my left palm.

It was different… no longer the hand I once knew.

The skin still bore the marks of tearing… and from the cracks, darkness seeped through, as if mocking me with a smile.

> "Tonight I saw your truth… my hand is no longer mine. It was born from something else… something that was never human."

I closed my eyes for a moment, but the images would not leave me: the blood, the screams, the trembling gazes.

Their voices still echoed in my head.

A heavy pulse coursed through my veins, as if my blood was turning into black fire.

I smiled against my will, a smile that was no longer human… but closer to laughter birthed from hell itself.

The house… was no longer safe.

The walls seemed narrower, the air heavier, and the darkness around me was no longer just a shadow… but a living being whispering to me:

> "You are no longer human… you have been reborn. And such a birth… never comes without death."

I raised my head, my darkened eye gleaming in the void, as though it had just declared the beginning of a new chapter of hell.
